"Today is a great day!"
Booming words issued forth out of the mouth of a bearded senator on a distant planet. He stood there atop his balcony with his arms raised as he announced good news to the multitude below him. His people cheered him on invariably as he continued to speak
"For our enemy has fallen! The war has been won! Rest assured, my people, for my reign will never end!"
A flash of light and he was gone. Just a faint sliver of narrow light to the human eye and the crowd of people below could only stare in shocked horror, some even gasped, before turning into a stampeding mass of pure chaos and unrest at the sight of their leader, headless, bloodied and spouting blood and excrement. Guards all over the place darted back and forth, trying to pinpoint where exactly the light came from. Of course, they found nothing of the sort.
Just a few meters and sharp turns away, Andreas was laying down in an expedient position with his sniper rifle barrel still smoking from the previous shot. There couldn't possibly be any better sniper position on the planet than that rooftop with all the different angles and points the bolt could ricochet off of, Andreas reflected to himself as he dismantled the rifle and spread his wings, flying off into space and towards his next two targets @[member="Adenn Gra'tua"] and @[member="Verz Horak"], who--the mercenary remembered gleefully--just happened to be in the same place.
