There is Still Hope, There is Still Light

Whenever one mentioned the Jedi Order, people automatically thought 'Republic', when the New Jedi Order, all understood it as 'the Alliance'. But it was not at all like that. Jedi of all banners were meant to protect the innocent, help them out whenever there was a need for that. And borders - unless they were Sith borders - would never get in the way of helping the innocent.

Lilin was out of the Galactic Alliance territory, on a little mission which she had been assigned to oddly. It was not a fight against the Dark Side, nor was it a work with law enforcement. Instead, it was a simple humanitarian mission. Yes, something peaceful.

Rodia was a world that was not under the control of any major government nowadays. Ever since the end of the Techno Union, it was just left there in the space alone. Of course the Alliance wouldn't get so far just yet, if at all, but that didn't mean that a Jedi wouldn't have to protect this planet.

And now there was a catastrophe. A criminal outbreak along with a natural disaster had turned a minor city there into wrecks. And even though the criminals had been caught, the effects of such a horrible event were still there, too much for the locals to handle. That is the moment when Jedi were supposed to come in.

The woman assumed there was Jedi of different orders there, if the other Jedi really acted in accordance to the faith of the Light.

The ship landed in the dome of the little town and Lilin could already see how wrecked this place was. There was a huge number of ruins, medical vessels around, burning buildings. Even the dome itself was broken at some certain places.

This place really needed some help.

As fast as she possibly could, the girl made it out of the ship and right at one of the medical personnel. A member of the rescue team, possibly even the commander of the team, was also there.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Master Imperieuse," she introduced herself, giving a bow to the two.

As far as Josh knew, the name "Jedi Order" no longer was associated with the Republic. The entity known as the Jedi Order had seceded from the Republic as a whole, due to differences in how they wanted to do things, and due to certain Senators wishing for the Senate to control the Jedi in it's entireity and use them as Republic soldiers with force powers, and nothing more. They had their force using soldiers now, of course. The Republic Knights. In his eyes, not much for Jedi really. Not as a disrespect to those that trained as Jedi, no. But to the mere fact that they answered to the Republic and nothing else, under an, in his eyes, very much corrupt Senate literally run by a literal space pirate, who served as, once again... Soldiers. Military. Killers. They destroyed The Republic's enemies, whether they be Sith or political enemies. It was the Republic's attempt to turn the Jedi he had once known into this in the first place that had driven him away from them once it was clear that many of the Jedi were for it. But they could do as they wished. So long as they took out the Sith. But in his eyes... They would never be Jedi. Just soldiers.

Josh just wished the Jedi Order that he grew up in was still around. The one that had seceded. Of course, now it was simply The Outer Regions Defense Force. The lack of interest in it as a Jedi group had forced it. Too few in number. Josh's dream had been destroyed. But now, he'd put all he could into the Defense Force, as well as assisting Jedi in the other factions as much as possible with the goal of finally driving out the Sith, ending the death grip that they had on the galaxy. They each had different philosophies, sure, but he'd work with them when it came to the Sith, and protecting the galaxy. So long as they could remember how to be Jedi. He was here to work with Jedi, after all... Not soldiers, or hired assassins with Jedi robes on. Jedi were peacekeepers... Guardians. Not armed infantry. They were to protect the innocent and keep the galaxy safe, not just through their skill with a blade and skill with the force, but with compassion, with empathy. Otherwise... Well, were they really that different from the Sith, but with different agendas?

A humanitarian mission suited Josh just fine. He was a warrior, sure, but he preferred nonviolent solutions to... Well, pretty much everything else, really. While Josh thought good riddance to the end of the Techno Union and it's violent, corrupt tyrants, their iron grip was still felt in the crime that had taken this little planet. They were caught, but the ripple effects were still being felt. Josh had offered to go on behalf of the Silver Sanctum, which he had good relations with, knowing [member="Coci Heavenshield"] well enough. He didn't think he'd ever met [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] though... But that was fine with him. He generally kept low key on his work with the Sanctum. Missions here and there, helping the Sanctum's Jedi branch as well as the Outer Regions Defense Force. It was nothing like the life he had once lived, the life he had loved... But it would do.

He'd already arrived, and had been speaking to the two when a woman would show up and introduce herself as Master Imperiuse. He would step back and allow them to talk, watching this conversation with interest without speaking for the moment.

"Honoured to meet you, Master Jedi," the commander spoke. He gave the girl a short bow as a response, thinking it would be polite to answer with the same motion. Jedi were very honourable people, he thought, and they would most definitely not appreciate a person shaking hands with them if they much more preferred to bow to each other.

"This place has wrecked. How is the process of humanitarian aid going? Have you evacuated any?" the Jedi Master asked. Her eyes did notice a person in the distance taking a few glances at the group, likely trying to listen to them talk. She didn't mind nosy people, or potential allies. Would he have been an enemy, things would have taken a completely different turn by now.

"If you talk of dead, I am afraid we have found some, a lot more injured," the commander gave a brief overview. "Our medical personnel work with them, as well as some Jedi Healers across different Orders."

"Really? How curious," Lilin asked. "I shall seek to the people who tend those wounds. I'm afraid we Jedi understand each other the best." She tried her best not to be rude or anything, she just really wanted to know who the man was. She could sense the Force radiating from him. Could have been a Jedi, but from which Order? She had no idea. Definitely not from the Alliance, though.

So, a Jedi then? Well, that cleared some things up. She was probably from the Alliance. Or the Republic. He certainly didn't recognize her from where he was from. He would allow them to finish up their conversation, noting that she was looking at him here and there - likely with the same curiosity that he held for her. With a break in the conversation, he would decide to be the one to initiate and step forward, shooting the woman a polite smile as he would speak.

"You're a Jedi then? I didn't want to interrupt, but if we're on the same mission here, then there's no harm in mentioning" He would greet calmly, but friendily as he would extend a hand.

"Josh DragonsFlame. Jedi Master, Silver Sanctum. And you?"
