There is a Lake House on Naboo

Wind howled as it tore through the night sky, clouds slowly moving over the many lakes of the lake country. A soft figure stood silently in the room, her pale blue eyes falling upon the slumbering form of a girl curled up in a bed, shivering slightly. Those eyes fell upon two more, sharing the room with the first as a single tear was shed. The droplet hardening as it rolled, until a piece of ice smashed upon the floor.

Where she stood became frozen solid, ice radiating from her as she wiped a hand across her own cheek. These girls, her sisters would be loved by their family, a love that she had not felt for many years. Turning slowly in the room, her eyes fell upon the girls, one by one she took a moment to watch and stare, to remember their faces. Then she stepped away, the door squeaking softly as she slipped from the room.

It would not be until she slowly came to glide down the steps of the grand staircase did she stop. Dancing lights of a dim fire place cascaded upon the wall, and for a moment she stood frozen in her step. Another tear rolled as she stepped forward, pushing herself to continue. She did not gaze into the room, knowing whom may reside within. Her hand reached out as she touched the handle, stopping and noticing a hand reaching out from a figure; just out of the corner of her eye. No doubt it was likely her mother, though she had not felt love for her nor her father in many years, not since she had been locked away and shunned by her own family. Shaking her head, she pushed the door open, the wind howling into the room and that night she was gone.

Eighteen years had passed since that night so long ago; eighteen years of fending and taking care of her self, and not once did she see a single hint or sign that her own family had even attempted to locate her. Thus it was no surprise that the house she had grown up in was left as it had been so long ago. The night she left, her family had only taken refuge in her little prison because a storm had hit before they could finish their trip home.

Stopping at the front door, her hand came up to her cheek, feeling the frozen tear that had rolled half way down. Brushing it away, slender fingers came to grasp the handle of the door, pushing it open slowly with an eerie creak from the hinges. The foyer remained as it had been, empty and cold, save for the rotting wall paper that curled at top and bottom.

Stepping into the old lake house, memories began to rush into her mind before just as quickly fading away. Why was she here, she thought to herself. What could this old place possible hold for her beyond ancient and painful memories that were best left forgotten. As she stepped towards the stairs, she froze once more, slowly turning to peer into the sitting room.

That night she had seen a figure; though she wasn't sure whom it was. Her sisters were asleep upstairs, slumbering and oblivious to what she was about to push herself to achieve. It could have been her mother, perhaps her father, though she shook that notion out of her mind. They had locked her away and turned her into a caged bird, neither would have cared.

Pushing herself to step forward, her eyes fell upon the fireplace, the ancient ashes resting in the hearth as she shook her head slightly. Turning, she was about to slip from the room when she stopped. Her eyes falling upon a half written note, with clear rough drafts strewn about. The hand writing, her mother's and father's. A note, though she could barely see what they were attempting to convey upon their eldest daughter.

From what few passages she could make out; another tear rolled down her cheek.

"An apology? They couldn't find the words?"
A smile began to tug at her lips before she pushed it away. There had been too many years, they could just as easily no longer feel the way they did; nor did she know if they still lived. She had not cared to find out for all those years for the simple reason that they seemed to desire a life without her, and she gave them that desire.

Silently she stood there, her eyes upon the empty table before she pulled herself back to the world around her. Slowly looking upon the old room, only to slip from its confines once more. Those pale blue eyes slowly came to fall upon the stairs; and at the base she stood silent.

The lake country of Naboo seemed to be almost intensely quiet tonight... To Watcher, that signified a trap. He was perched on the roof of one of the large vacation houses that seemed to be the norm here, and he was searching. Being blind, of course, he was simply listening for anything that might indicate an attacker. But all he heard was a few doors opening and closing, as well as a low voice from inside the house he was standing on.

But, he heard something else. Farther away. His hand immediately went for the katana in its sheathe at his belt, and he drew it, standing up from his spot... and then promptly falling into thin air and crashing to the ground in a way that might have meant a multitude of broken bones if he hadn't been a droid. As it was, he simply cut through the air with his weapon, slicing through some random statue sitting on the lawn. Damn.

Jax had never been to the lake country on Naboo, even though he'd lived on Naboo all his life. Being a merchant, maybe it was normal that he stayed near the city. Where the money came flowing in and where he could work with his father. The lake country looked very different from the other parts of Naboo. It had waterfalls, streams, and even vacation homes.

Just like any day, Jax was searching for sellers. It seemed he wandered into the lake country tonight. The lake country was like foreign territory to him. On his V-19 landspeeder, he slowly made his way through the lake country until arriving near a house. A little worried about what lurked there, Jax kept on guard. After turning off the landspeeder and hopping out, he analyzed the house and the surrounding area.

The only thing that he saw was a man with a katana drawn. Jax stood there quietly awaiting the man's response to his arrival.
