The Youth of the Jedi [Nala Tu]

Akodya nodded softly as she listened to Nala's story, a tale of a lonely kamionan child. As the Nala continued to explain Akodya's eyesbrows furrowed. How could children be so cruel? Having being discovered very young Akodya never really had that much of a childhood, since she had been training in the order since she was as young as three. The padawan frowned when Nala flinched slightly at the old name, hinting at how much those words haunted her even now. After Nala finished, Akodya didn't know what to say. The last thing a Jedi wanted to be is pitied.

"I think because of those experiences, you would be a exceptional Jedi Master." She said honestly. "You will be able to relate to people on a different level. So many are cautious of Jedi because to many as something mythical...we don't fit into the norm. But you have an advantage."

She sighed at her friend's response. While se may have ben true about how this would help her it didn't change the fact that the experience still hung in her mind like a big important task needing to be done but by the time you remember it it's already far too late. Nala looked back to the pictures and tales of her idled and wondered if, possibly, she dealt with the ameissues as a child herself.

"I jut really want to be someone. Prove the wrong.....make my father proud too." she sai

"But you are already someone Nala," She said firmly, hoping to reassure her friend of her own worth. Akodya couldn't understand why her friend so low of herself. Although she may have struggled to grasp the ways of the Jedi when she was young, it didn't make her any less of a Jedi now. "Anyway, you have plenty of time to prove those people wrong. You are stronger then you think Nala."

Akodya sighed and blew her hair out of her face, her hands running over her own book's cover before gently opening it to the front page. "If what I know about fathers is true, I think your would be proud of you no matter what you do."

Nala looked to her friend and had a small smile on her face the more she told her how she was worth more than she thought of herself. Everything she said began to sit with her as did everything her Master ever taught her. When it was done Nala simply said "You're a good friend, Akodya. And you're one of the first person I could actually say to."

Nala looked back the book before finally closing it. It felt relieving to have talked everything out with a fellow padawan. he looked back to her and asked "What about you? Did you ever had any problems like me growing up?"

Akodya didn't really know how she should respond to Nala's words. She never thought anyone would ever call her 'friend' or a good one at that. Well, say it so genuinely anyway. Akodya gave her a wide smile and muttered a simple thank you. When Nala asked about her childhood, however, the smile quickly faded.

"I wouldn't say I had a troubled childhood, or a childhood at all, actually. I have been at the temple since I was three. The Jedi order is really all I know." She said, her eyes drifting to her book. "I never really made any friends with any other younglings, I was to scared of them." She said casually, as if there was not a problem in the world.

Nala nodded as Akodya explained her growing up in the temple before saying "Well no wonder we've not seen each other till recently. You've been too afraid and I've been too....well me." she chuckled a little before saying "Still, here we are now. Who knows, maybe both of us will eventually be on the Jedi Council. Unless that's not what you want, which I totally understand. I mean I'm not saying you can't but..." She stopped "Sorry. Rambled."

"You do that a lot, don't you?" Akodya chuckled softly, but nodded at Nala's words. "I don't know if I'll be able to ever be a council member, the position seems...to elite. I just want to be a healer." She said.

Well, at least that is what Akodya was aspiring to at the moment. She preferred to take everything a step at a time. Looking at her friend, Akodya had kind of lose interest in her book at this point of time. "So, have you heard anything from your master?" She asked.

Nala perked up and said "Oh yes. He's returning soon enough. In fact he's going with me to visit my home in a few days. I feel it's best one father figure meet another." She chuckled a little at what she said. Though it was true that Master Syn agreed to come with Nala. She'd only kept in touch with her father via holo-calls, messages and the like. This would be the first time in a long while she'd see her father in person.

"What bout yours? Uh, master that is." Nala asked.
