Old Mining Facility New Droid Factory
MiningColony-TPOV.jpg

Brin looked out onto the factory floor. His new office over looked what was formally the processing area of the old mining facility. The old facility had already started to be converted into a droid factory and if today went according to plan, Brin would have the credits to bring the factory to 100% production a lot faster.
Turning away from the window Brin looks at the screens that covered the opposing wall. Most of the screens showed images of empty rooms but a larger screen showed an orbital scanner display. Ships begun dropping out of hyperspace, his guests had arrived.

Representatives from many different parties had been invited to see the makings of Brins new company and he hoped many of them would take an interest and invest. It was going to be tricky; many of his potential investors didn’t get along. but what could he expect, he selling armies to people who could very well used those armies against one another.
Brin had devised a plan to avoid hostilities. The representatives would arrive and a newly furbished V1 would accompany them down 5 floors to a private room and serve as a personal waiter for the evening. The room contained a long meeting table with refreshments and a large screen on the far wall. Each party would be able to see and hear Brin. And Brin would be able to see and hear everyone.

Brin smiles as the fist ship touched down. “Here we go”

Sabrina arrived for her new uncover role, she was to assist [member="Brin Vext"], to make sure he sell`s to right people. She already in the building, when he arrived, and also she had no idea, what she was doing. She was not secretarial material, to start with, but she figured after six month tour with the red legion. This would be easier, as the was less risk of being, caught and then shot.

She waited, in her new employer`s office, with a few data pads for him. Mostly note`s invoices, and some technical data, for some machines he was thinking of buying. She was bored, at least the red legion had edge to it, will she won`t she be caught.

Twi'lek Slaver
[member="Brin Vext"], [member="sabrina"]

Arriving early wasn't exactly expected. It was half the reason why when his small ship touched down there was a din of a normally flowery and dainty Twi'lek language being spat out in what was likely an impressive range of swears. The other half was because he was in the middle of training two newly acquired slaves. Oh goodie. Well, at least he wouldn't need a plaque under his name indicating what his job was.

Sarri was dressed in an aggressive-looking slaver's uniform made of Jalavash Worm silk when he stepped out, with his lekkus encased in gleaming gold bands to bind them and prevent them from giving away his interest or lackthereof during the discussion. He also had dragged behind him two individuals who seemed rather used to walking with head-encasing bags over their heads and heavy shackles on their wrists. Finding out that there was a droid that would be attending to his needs and that he wouldn't be directly conversing with any of the other interested parties was at the very least... amusing. This would be one of the most amusing parodies of a Council meeting that he'd ever seen.

With a brief exchange and curt explanation he was led downstairs to his own assigned room, allowed to make himself comfortable, and noticed the clock. And then he noticed how absurd it was that he'd bothered to hurry in the first place.

"Frotz opik!! I could have slept in if I'd read zi damn clocks..." He sighed and sat down at the available chair, yanking the slaves who he'd brought with him over so that he could pull the couples' hoods off and remove their restraints to reveal two calm, eyeless faces. It was a pair of Miralukas, one male and female, and they were there for a good reason; while he was still rather untrained, the dark-skinned humanoid's force sensitivity would make sure that he wasn't going to be unecessarily surprised with some idiotic Jedi or Sith mind tricks. Or, at least, he'd be warned of foul play and then file a lawsuit. Anything dealing with him and his money was enough grounds for him to be cautious.

Sarri was still for the most part unaware of the video cameras and so he used the drink he'd been handed by the droid unit to soothe the lingering burns underneath his eye patch with occasional touches of the alcohol with his fingertips and then introducing it under the cloth patch. He sighs, relaxing into his chair as the uncomfortable burn of the liquid on his scars soothes and sobers him. He engaged the Miralukas in quiet, subtle conversation that consists of a combination of thoughts, body language, and the occasional curt reply from him in the meantime as he waited, debriefing the duo on what was to be done.

Brin watched the screens as the rooms began to fill. politicians, slavers, war lords, governors, kings, queens, crime lords and other wealthy individual had been invited from all corners of the galaxy.

"ok lets get this show on the road" Brin said to himself, his eyes flicking in the direction of [member="sabrina"] befoor looking down the camera
the screens in all the rooms sprung to life. Brin stood in front of his office window with the construction of the droid assembly line clearly being constructed behind him. he wore a white shirt and black vest. being well dressed was a novelty he would have to get use to but he puled the business man look off very well

straitens himself, he began to speak
"Greetings my friends, ladies and gentlemen i thank you for coming this evening. you have all come in promise of one thing... Power. and i wish to deliver on my promise. what you see behind me in the beginnings of what could be your army." Brin paused to let the statement sink in a little "but before we begin there are some house keeping matters that i must address. if you require anything during the evening don't hesitate to inquire of the V1 droid allocated to your room. each droid has been hand made by myself and will serve you well. the last thing is, if anyone wishes to speak they can do so by pressing the big red bottom on your control" Brin could see on the screes all the V1s almost in perfect unison handed a small remote over to the rooms occupants. "your voice shall be projected to all the rooms but for safety i have installed a voice changer so no one will be able to recognise the voice except me." he knew it was a little over kill but who could be careless when selling weapons of war to two politicians who intended to use them against each other.
"the other buttons on your remote will be explained latter. for now please sit back and enjoy our hospitality. the formal interaction will begin shortly" the screens flashed off and Brin slumped back into his chair.

Sabrina looked at [member="Brin Vext"], as slumped back in his seat, looking quite content with himself. To be honest with her self, he deserved to, even though he was being used. He got a lot out of it, including coffee, as she brought it over to his seat, and sat next to him. She turned to him, and asked was that a little ott?
She wonder what his reasoning was, as it might help in the future. As you never know, she may decide to make her company one day, though she was more interested in, finding out what people secrets are.

[member="sabrina"]'s voice carried through on the video and unfortunatey caught Sarri's attention. He didn't think much of what he was doing, just acting off of presumptions as he pressed his own talking button to post his inquiry. Inappropriate as it was, his heavily accented voice was carried into [member="Brin Vext"]'s room. It was easy to tell that he was a native Twi'lek, even without the video feed due to not even the voice distorter being able to remind him to watch using his native tongue out in the open.

"So... What button on zis thing summons zi sienn?" There was likely silence from the listening consoles, accompanied by tiny followups of agreement-- after all, if there was a presumed magic button that somehow summons ladies there was likely at least a small handful of CEOs who were fumbling with their remote devices. Had they known it was a slaver's inquiry they likely would have just ignored Sarri's curiosity and chalked it up to him jumping the shark.

Brin stood up again. he couldn't wait any longer. straightening up his tie he spoke into the camera again "i thank you for the jurny many of you have made to be here today. i do not wish to waist any more of your time so i will get straight down to business. my name is Brin Vext and this facility you are in is soon to be my new droid factory." Brin smiles with a slight sense of pride "within the next week the first battle droids will be ready to march off the assembly line, perfect for private armies or state armies, ready to follow any order without question and most importantly.....the most cost affective way to field a large army"
Brin taped a few buttons and an image appeared on everyone's screens

(ooc: i have a tech sub written up for it but i haven't submitted it yet coz i need my compony. i cant talk about the droid as if it is made due to it not being a tech approved but ooc if anyone wants to know what droids i have up my sleeve PM me)
"the image you are all looking at is a concept of what will be the backbone of your army. my compony plans to provide everyone with cost affective and reliable battle droids for use in almost any environment and situation"
looking at the droid Brin thought to himself. most people preferred sentient soldiers over droids but he had spent hours designing his droids to out perform organic troopers.
"i assure you, this little taste is just the tip of the iceberg. no more waiting years of training, with your investment i will be able to give you the power of producing your own army in a matter of weeks."
"any questions?"

"Besides asking which one of these buttons summons Little-Miss-Red-Riding-Hood... yes." Sarri's face is brought up on the screen as he speaks, looking less amused than a shareholder might be. He eyed the droid creations with both distrust and annoyance. "So you expect us to purchase your little droid monopoly? I haven't seen zese droid builds before, which means that I know exactly how zis ruddy plot goes: you're going to let us buy as many droids as our money-saturated hearts desire at low, affordable prices so zat your name gets put out on zi market and zey will function for perhaps one, two, maybe three years without issue. Zen come the hidden fees, when a droid breaks down and we can't find zi necessary parts to fix it except for you and your people. Zen we owe you. You'll be clinging to each one of us, draining our paychecks like child who refuses to be weaned from its mother's breast." He gave a dark, brooding chuckle and handed the remote over to one of the Miralukans who kept their finger on the button so that he could walk and talk at the same time. The Twi'lek stood up, arms crossed, to look down on the receiving monitor and make himself seem all the more taller and more important.

"It's a mediocre entrepeneur's method. A method zat we all used before we could afford to appear professional. In the end you'll be exacting credits from under our noses, and the exchange will seem so 'small' to us zat we pay it off with just as little mind as we do our own taxes. We wouldn't notice, we wouldn't care, at least until we tried to get out of it. Zen zose precious droids we bought would be far more useless zan a clanker. I can assure you zat no sane man would agree to your terms without proper motivation. No?" His words caused some unease among the other shareholders, some of them searching their folders to try and look over their transaction histories. The male Miralukan made a point to stop pressing the red button, but when he noticed his image flicker the Twi'lek turned around to deliver a stern reprimanding bark in his own native tongue that caused him to flinch and keep the button held.

Brin grind patiently as he watched the Twi'lek pacing. he was a little annoyed that this scum had questioned Brins very nature. it was true Brin intended to make money out of his investors but he was a mechanic first and a businessman seconded. the very idea that his creations could be deliberately defective in any way was plain offensive.
"you raise and interesting point my friend. i assure all of you that my compony intends to produce, and continue to produce top of the line war droids for any of your needs."
Brin stroked his beard. his armies had been intended for governments and other groups who wanted to amass a huge army and he planed to provide a constant flow of droids to his clients.
"i was planning of leaving this till the end but clearly it is an issue that must be addressed."
Brins eyes narrowed as he continued
"this facility is not large enough to produce the armies i have promised. in fact this facility was never intended to provide you all with the armies i promised you."
Brins looked at the screens as the business men and women started to get riled up but he kept on talking.
"i promised you armies and i shall deliver but what i am selling is not an army. what i am selling is the ability to build an army. thoes of you who wish may perches droids and they will be delivered.... but what i offer to those who wish for the ability to fight wars is..."
Brins eyes looked at the screen of the blue Twi'lek and continued "licences"
Brin now started pacing himself "what is the point of an army that needs to be shipped halfway across the galaxy, what is the point of an army that is reliant of an external force. just as our friend here has mentioned, what is the point of an army we don't control. well i agree, what is the point."
the look of smug pride creeped across Brins face
"what im offering you is a chance to build your own droid army. no paying for labour, no paying for materials, no paying no maintenance and no paying for delivery. all it would cost is the price of a small factory and the licensing fee, that is a fraction of the price of a full droid."
still talking sp the group could hear Brin spoke directly to the Twi'lek "hope that answered your questions. im fully aware that some people might not have the resources or need to build their own army so we will still be providing delivery of products at a fixed price"

(ooc: one of my aims is that factions will use my droids as opponents in Dominions. as well as small faction government groups use them like a true Droid army... smash them out and overwhelm)

Sabrina leaned over to [member="Brin Vext"], and covered her mouth, and whispered into his ear, Get the droid out, and show them what he can do. That way you put, he then can shut up. Sabrina then slid back her seat, and sip of her coffee.

(ooc: i cant go into to much detail coz the droids have not been approved but i can give rough details and people can ask questions)

Brin let out a sigh and nodded. pressing a few buttons 2 images appeared on the screen

"the three products you see before you will be the first line of droids to be built here at this facility or at licensed facilities. the standard battle droid you see is a model in what i like to call the V series. as you can see we have moved away from the standard humanoid design to allow for grater performance. the leg design was based off Shistavanen. this alterations to the standard of battle droids grants this droid with far grater manoeuvrability and speed without sacrificing combat effectiveness. the droids power life will be about 3 days nonstop fighting, it then will need to be recharged. please note that less active the droid is the less power it uses. the standard model will have light armour and cost about 6,000 per model plus delivery, or 2,000 licence fee to build yourself."
"any questions before i move on to the next droid?"

HK glanced at [member="Seir'ari"] on one of the screens as the Twi'Lek spoke, he did brought up some good points, the droid's gaze then traveled to Brin who retorted with an offer of licenses and three images of hopeful droid models.
He asked for any questions and HK rose his hand, pushing a button to alert them he had a query,
"Indeed, I do have a concern. You ask us to invest but the only physical proof of your ability to manufacture droids is a protocol droid."
The droid would lean in slightly,
"While it looks all good and well on paper we need to see a more tangible proof, a footage of field tests, perhaps a prototype or two?"
He slightly tilted his head,
"Anything that could prove to us their worth on the field of combat. It is rather difficult to sell a weapon on words and promises alone."
The droid would look to other screens, other investors gathered there to see how they reacted, what their own opinions were.

((I.E. maybe start working on a tech submission for at least one of the droids :p the infantry one you talked about in your previous post sounds good for start))

Sarri's tattoed eyebrow raised at the tiny 'tell' that [member="Brin Vext"] was getting quite frustrated. Was he really expecting no questions about his character? Most of the called individuals had money, status, power, a weight to their names. The only time he'd heard "Brin Vext" was when he recieved the invitation, which meant that most of his success would come from these people on monitos to carry his logo name across.

"Hn. Zi droid is quite right, as well. Zi photographs look fine, but anyone can place droid parts together to make zem look salvageable. You also didn't mention zi matter of... accessibility to parts." The Twi'lek continued to cycle through the photographs, resizing them and genuinely picking it apart visually. "You're giving us license, but one can have any sort of license at all. I could be licensed to fly a ship, fire a rifle, or kill for money. But if I don't have access to a ship, bullets specifically for my rifle, or targets to take out zen my license is null and void. Zat is my biggest concern, nerra; license or not, how are we exactly going to be building zis army if we aren't getting zi parts to upgrade and maintain zem? What if zere was a recall? I don't think zat my 'license' would let my hired engineers know any better zan a rancor with a wrench how to fix a droid whose design zey aren't remotely familiar with."
