GENERAL INFORMATION

• Holocron Name: The Wayfarer Codex
• Alignment: Dark Aligned. Exceptionally, Almost Comically Dark Aligned.
• Origin: The Wayfarer Codex was created in secret by Vestra Tane , shortly after the Sith Covenant's conquest of the Galactic Core.
• Affiliation: Vestra Tane is the original creator. Upon the original creator's death, the holocron is to be delivered by droid to one, specific, Acolyte of the Sith Covenant
• Gatekeeper: The Wayfarer Codex's gatekeeper is a sapient reconstruction of Vestra Tane's personality and memories up to the point of its creation, though with a significantly reduced tendency towards fits of rage as compared to the organic original. It is primarily concerned with restricting access to the Codex from unworthy subjects, and on providing commentary and assistance in comprehension of the included texts and treatises.
• Description: The Wayfarer Codex is a Sith holocron of the standard appearance, constructed to serve as a repository for the knowledge of one Triumvir of the Sith Covenant, Vestra Tane, in the event of her demise, untimely or otherwise.

DEFENSES

• Accessibility: The Holocron's Gatekeeper has full and final say over who is allowed to access the Codex's contents, and judges a prospective Sith's worthiness based on their displayed ambition (ideally: high), curiosity (ideally: insatiable), and tendency to grovel (ideally: nonexistent). Certain individuals are automatically granted access, chief among them Vestra's fellow Triumvirs Arris Windrun and Mercy . Ultimately, though, the selection process is arbitrary, and subject to the whims of the Gatekeeper almost entirely.
• Security: Should an aspirant deemed unworthy sufficiently annoy the Gatekeeper - or attempt to access the codex's contents after being denied repeatedly - a system for dispersing aerosolized trihexalon is installed at the base of the holocron, which the aforementioned Gatekeeper may activate at its pleasure.

CONTENT INFORMATION

• Fangs At The Throat Of The Galaxy is the first of three archives contained within the Wayfarer Codex. In it is contained several treatises on the nature and role of the Sith in the Galaxy, as Vestra and the Covenant understand it. It defines the Sith, foremost, as a means by which the Galaxy tests itself, its institutions, and its protectors, and second as a means and community by which promising individuals may be forged into fully realized agents of the Dark Side. It advises the wielder of the Holocron to be wary of stratification, aristocracy, and bureaucracy amongst the Sith, as these things both foster complacency in those whom they benefit and deprive the Sith of their essentially free nature. Finally, it contains a startlingly thorough account of Sith History from the rule of King Adas on Korriban to the Covenant's Invasion of Coruscant in the earliest years of the 900s ABY, with commentary by the Gatekeeper regarding what it views as the highs and lows of the Sith.
• The second archive, Fundamentals of the Dark Side, covers a wide array of Force techniques, from the simplest applications of Force Sense to a number of useful energy manipulation techniques, and practices to increase one's physical aptitude. It acknowledges that different Sith will have different specialties, but asserts that there is something in the archives for every aspiring acolyte. Interspersed among essays on Force manipulation are treatises on lightsaber and hand-to-hand combat, with special focus paid to Forms II and VII, as well as the art of Stava.
• The final Archive is titled simply On Matters Esoteric, and is a collection of the Vestra's wisdom regarding the various sorcerous arts. Though the creator of the Wayfarer Codex was a self-admittedly terrible sorcerer, she had an advanced degree of theoretical knowledge regarding Sith Sorcery, and included in this archive are instructions as to how one might invoke various useful spells. Beyond that, there is given a lesson on the histories of various mystical Force practices, primarily Sith Sorcery and Nightsister Magic.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Shortly after the Sith Covenant's conquest of the Core, Vestra Tane, Triumvir of the Covenant and nominal head of its Academy branch, began to compile her knowledge and begin the construction of a holocron with which to secure it. It was an uncharacteristic display of foresight for the Sith Master - but her responsibilities to the Covenant (and, more importantly, to a specific Acolyte) compelled her; the life of a Sith is one of regular, constant danger and violence, and when she was inevitably struck down it would behoove her to leave something behind which propagated her ideologies and techniques.

Thus, the Wayfarer Codex: a collection of treatises on philosophy, history, Force techniques, Sorcery, lightsaber and hand-to-hand combat. In function it is simple. Its Gatekeeper will select for the sorts of people that Vestra had a soft spot for, and its contents will allow that person to gain a grasp on the fundamentals of whatever avenue of Sith-hood they wished to pursue, barring Mentalism or Stealth. Ideally, it would produce a well-rounded acolyted, but even many hyper-specialists would gain something from its contents.

Until Vestra's demise, it is housed within her astromech droid's storage component, at which point it will be delivered to the individual Vestra last specified.
