Private The Wardog & The Bluejay

Stretching as she left the refresher, Mevia Viszla adjusted her belt one final time. Carrying her rifle on her back, the beskar'gam clad Chiss walked towards the bridge. She was supposed to be crusading right now! When her mother told her, forced her, to go on a training mission with her aunt, Mevia sighed. She loved her auntie, but her willingness to assist those blasted Je'tii at Rodia had put her off. The Mandalorian mentor who taught her to use her jetpack had been a favorite trainer growing up. They both were less organized than the rest of their family, and Mevia enjoyed auntie's more upfront yet casual personality. It would be nice to go out with her again, but right now? As the Enclave was finally rising the old Mandalorian glory? It felt like a waste of time.

As she entered the bridge of the ship, she sighed as she saw that they were still in hyperspace. Clenching her buy'ce in her hand, Mevia approached the pilot's seat where Shai Maji Shai Maji was seated.

"Still not there?"

She huffed, crossing her arms. She didn't even know where they were going! Annoyed, she complained, "It's felt like hours."

She paused for a moment, a trickle of guilt in her as she looked to Shai. It... still had been ages since they last went out together. Perhaps, she shouldn't be so prickly. Even if her auntie confused her these days, she still loved her. "Look..."

She sighed, "It's not like I don't look forward to training with you. I'm just really focused on stuff in the Enclave right now."

She offered a tiny smile to Shai, briefly, as she spoke, "But it's been a while since you've trained me, and I do look forward to it."

Her face returned to her usual "neutrality" as she flopped onto the co-pilot's seat. She adjusted her rifle again as she asked, "You never told me where we're headed..."

When she offered Gwyn the chance to take Mevia out for a training session, she wasn't really sure on what to do. Luckily a job came up and she jumped at the chance, thinking it would be perfect to take Mevia along. Only thing was, even she didn't really know all the details. She only had a location and a contact.

Sitting in the pilot's seat with a flask in hand, Shai casually sipped at the questionable substance within as she stared out at the abyss on the other side of her viewport. Mevia eventually emerged from the refresher and approached her with a few remarks, earning a chuckle from Shai as she spared her a knowing glance. "Didn't think it was necessary. We're going to Nimban. Some... border dispute. They needed guns as well as some bodies in case things get messy. Figured we could check both boxes." She remarked as she spared a glance at the young Chiss.

"Trust me, kiddo. You ain't the only one who's got her mind on the Enclave. Shit's been gettin' a bit too wild." She turned to look at the girl with a toothy grin. "And by the way. Didn't know who told you this is a training session. This is gonna be full combat we're jumpin' into." She commented, looking back out the viewport with a lingering smile.

Hearing that this was a real live mission made Mevia perk up more. The Chiss started prepping more of her equipment as she grinned.

"Sweet! I'm gonna show you all I learned lately, auntie. Officially joining the Enclave has been such a ride!"

"Still don't understand why buir didn't want us to grow up there."
Mevia muttered real quickly.

Mevia pulled her beskad out and checked the blade for nicks, "I've been doing so much more than the usual training. Usually I'm sparring with mum or Elise. Now, more sparring partners and a crater full of Vong to fight! I bet I could finally beat Elise now!"

She paused, looking away for a moment. Frowning, she felt her old jealousy bubbling up again. She did a good job hiding it from Elise herself, as she still did not want to hurt her. Her mother knew. She knew everything. But Mevia refused to talk about it. What was the harm some sibling rivalry? Sure, Elise was talented, smart, Force Sensitive, a skilled fighter, and charming in personality. Mevia had some resentments of her luck, but she was trying not to let it get to her head. Still, looking at her reflection through the sword, she saw her inferior reflection. Elise had never beaten Mevia, but Mevia had never beaten Elise either. Mevia was hoping to become the strongest, even down from where she was.

Putting the sword in its sheath, Mevia huffed.

Shai raised a brow at Mevia's enthusiasm for the job ahead of them, rather caught off guard by it. "I don't remember teaching you to jump the gun. That also a new thing you learned?" She remarked with a stern voice. "This ain't some sanctioned mission we're goin' on. It's a gun run. We're selling illegal weapons to some rebels. And helping them is also not really black on white. We're criminals the moment we step foot on Nimban." She explained to the girl with a serious tone as she glanced at her. "So in other words, don't draw attention." She finished as she looked out the viewport.

Adjusting her shirt, Shai sat back as she thought about lifting the mood a little. "Don't be too hurried to find death. It'll find you in its own time." She spoke up with a more gentle tone as she smiled at Mevia. "Training and fighting is all well and good, the Enclave needs good soldiers. But it's not all that matters. Take it from me, kiddo. That road don't got a happy ending." She tried to teach her with a warmth in her voice.

"When's the last time you squared off against Yuri? Be interesting to see how you would stack against him." She asked after a while. The streaks of hyperspace gave way to the void as their destination laid before them. But Shai was in no rush as she coasted over to Nimban's orbit at a casual pace.
