Large Strength- Vondoon are very strong,

Weaknesses:

Clumsy- They are slow lumbering beast,

Cant hide-
Vondoon are so large and loud stealth or hiding is impossible for these buggers

Massive Size- The massive size of a Vondoon make it very difficult for them to squueze into transport ships or even manipulate a blaster rifle. As a result they are depnedent on the larger pieces of technolgy when they use them and are not well versed in them. A vondoon would need a custom fighter or large large craft to get around and cannot fit into tight spaces.

Distinctions: Akin to the Ewok but much bigger and burlier. Vondoons are marked by years and years of evolution from their smaller bearish Ewok cousins.

Average Lifespan: 100 yrs

Races: Vondoon are two forms. The smaller Vondoon are healers and tribal homekeepers. The larger Vondoon are the warriors and hunters.
Estimated Population: Uncommon throughout the galaxy, only a few hundred live in seclusion deep in the forests of Endor.
Diet: Their diet consists of meat from many animals and a host of vegetables and herbal teas. The Vondoon do not eat grains, which gives them a meaty muscular advantage.
Communication: Horns and voices. Vondoon can use technology but mostly don’t because a commlink is difficult to manuever in their hands.
Culture:

The Vondoon hail from ancient tribes back in the days of the first Ewoks. While some Ewoks chose to remain in the outer edges of the forests others were braver and went deep deep into the woods and mountains carving out a rugged living. They are warriors and hunter gatherers never making camp in the same location for extended periods of time.

Vondoon society is comprised much like the Mandalorians with a single chieftain who must be bested in combat to succeed. The primary function of the smaller Vondoon is to gather and tend the need's of the camp. Larger Vondoon are warriors and hunters.

From a young age they are taught the skills of Melee combat and healing, with some unique force sensitive becoming the wardens of the tribes. Vondoon are great healers, hand to hand fighters and excellent smiths, who can create custom armor for themselves, much like Beskar' Gam.

A vondoon is considered an elder at age 70 where they will lead the tribes until their death at the ripe age of between 90 to 100 years of age. The eldest vondoon was estimated to reach 125 before death.

Vondoon have an excellent grasp on poisons and herbs. They know from years of knowledge what is good for them and what is not. This unique skill make them adept healer through natural methods.

Interaction with their ewok cousins is usually gruff and rough. Most Vondoon don't like them because they are small and weak. Some of them get along well however but these are mostly the healers. An angry Vondoon has been known to snatch up an offending Ewok and eat them to prove a point.

Technology level: Recently the Vondoon have come out of hiding in the deep forests and years of killing slavers and adventurers have brought them up to today’s standards of technology. Traditionally they use it only when they must. Using some of the smaller technology is a major challenge for the Vondoon due to their massive size.

General behavior:

Vondoon act one of two ways. They sit around and drink spirits and home brewed mead from the bee's and herbs of Endor or they fight like verminous beasts and rage destroy what they don’t like.

Vondoon are not fond of outsiders, but accept them if they pose no threats to their lands. When predators come a calling they defend their tribal ground with a savage ferocity.

When in combat a Vondoon simply fights to win. Their is little honor in their tactics, mostly grunting, grumbling and smashing with thier fists!

Healers generally spend many hours in the woodlands gathering herbs and bark. Warriors will typically drink heavily when not out on patrol or hunting.
History:

1: The first Ewoks

The first ewoks lived in nomadic tribes roaming the world of endor. Although very small they subsided on a diet of plants and very few animals. Over time as animals became scarcer in the outer regions of the forest and the Ewoks became more and more domesticated, establishing tree colonies and small farms there was a schism. The Ewoks were split into two groups. One group was more interested in remaining in their villages and creating a long lasting legacy. This group knew that the deep jungle and mountains of the Endor system held more wild food, but they were much more apt to stay stabilized and grow their food where it was safe. The predators of the moonworld lived deeper in the forest away from the open spaces and the light

The more feral and braver Ewoks among them decided that a village life was not for them and so they were exiled into the wilderness for refusing to conform to the majorities desires. The nomadic ewoks travelled deep into the forests primarily hunting and scavenging for food. Life proved to be rough as predators always sought to eat them, diseases ravaged them, and the movements of the animals dictated their food supply. Thus they became hunter gatherers rather than hunter farmers, always on the move.

2: Evolution

The Feral Ewoks over time began to see small changes in their genetic code brought on by hundred of years of stress in their newer unknown environment. The constant threat of attack by creatures larger than themselves forced the ferals to become stronger and larger, and required more zeal to keep their tribes safe. As time went on they began to grow for a thousand years, living almost solely on meat rather than vegetables which gave them an advantage over their smaller cousins.

3: The first Vondoon

As evolution went on and massive muscles and stature were becoming dominant among the Ewoks some mutations resulted in the medichlorian counts of the ferals rising. Their enhanced sense and strength forced their gene pool to change even further by natural selection as their smaller cousins were killed off by predators or eaten by the diseases and hardships of the deep woods. Over time these newer, taller and faster species of Ewok coined a name after a sacred go in their pantheon, the god of strength. They called themselves the Vondoon.

4: The Renaissance of the Vondoon

Enabled by these new mutations, the Vondoon began to realize and isolate the flaws of their society. During the last thousand years of their evolution a tribal system began to evolve based on the natural selection tenants. In a harsh environment only the strongest were allowed to lead, thus there was much bloodshed from which eventually became a chieftain.

With their new force powers some Vondoon were ready to set about conquering the problem of the deep wood diseases. When the Gulag Plague struck the Vondoon were devastated, with almost half their tribes desolated with the sickly ailing diseases. A council of force users was formed, and they sought to combine their knowledge to guard their tribes against the new threats. Over extensive research they discovered natural herbs and barks of the forest which contained anti oxidant and other properties. These shaman like individuals began to record their new craft to memory and pass it down to every newborn Vondoon, giving everyone the ability to heal with the natural remedies around them.

Hand to hand combat was always a part of the culture but as time went on and hunting techniques began to become rfined the Vondoon began to become aware of their strength and natural prowess. Techniques to kill predators with a vondoons bare hands or a quarterstaff fashioned of sturdy endor wood were refined and taught among the tribes. As they developed the Vondoon realized the practical application of having a warrior society and began to spar amonsgt themselves, developing new and effective techniques to not only keep the peace amongst their tribe, but also defend themselves from outside attacks.

5: The Slavers cometh!

When the first slavers came to the planet the Vondoon were spared until Imperial presence during the ancient war became rife on the moon. Though largely unknown some tribes were hunted by rogue slavers and pirates who saw the lumbering bearlike creatures as similar to the wookies, great slave labor assets. The martial arts of the Vondoon were further refined to kill with complete impunity any that threatened their tribes. Going against conventional weaponry such as blasters was hard for them however and great many were again wiped out by the savagery of the slavers.

6: The Raising of the Wardens

Shortly after the slavers came the Wardens were raised. Elite Vondoon warriors with an astute connection to the force began to teach the younger generations how to harness the powers to further enhance strength and speed. As the Warden developed their skills they were able to push back ans slay a great many outsiders, ravishing the enemy and setting them back out of their sovereign territory. Captured technology was brought to the village and studied by the elders. They had begun to understand the benefits and the drawbacks of their society.

7: Modern Day

To this day the Vondoon live almost exclusively in the deep woods of
Endor, still guarding against outsider. Their Wardens roam the woods stopping any unwanted advances and they prosper solely alone in the wilderness. In the recent years as technology become more prevalent some Vondoon have taken to leaving their tribes and setting out into the galaxy. Every generation has it's adventurers and the Vondoon are no different. They still defer contact with their Ewok cousin believing them to be weak but occasionally visit their villages to demand this or that.

Notable Player-Characters: Me
Intent: To create a unique species related to the Ewoks for my character to explore in the SWRP universe. Also to bring a bit of variety.

I would like to see some more on the evolution. How did the ewoks go in ancient times divide so much. A 9 meter tall bear is... well that is near the size of a baby Gorax, it is on par with a leviathan and tyrant rancor. There would also be a great deal more weakness with them such as ship transport and technology from the galaxy would be near impossible to use from their size.

Very nice, now on to the general behavior. They need a little more, sitting around drinking or fighting are very vague. HOw to they act with they cousins? How do they act with outsiders? How do they act with each other in terms of leadership? Do they fight with honor or is it whoever wins? How do they act with gorax or the other creatures of Endor cause there are a lot from dancing flowers to crying mountains.
