Description: The plantation sits deep within the tropical purple jungles of Garqi. The compound consists of a large estate house, a dorm housing the workers, a large pole barn where the tractors are housed, and long plant building where the caf cherries are processed, and outdoor drying racks for the beans. There is a wide landing pad just apart from the processing plant to accommodate shipping vessels taking the beans offworld. These buildings are surrounded by a few thousand acres of caf trees.
History: The Violet Glade started out as a small little caf farm called Verdant Hills by the Namis family somewhere around the time of the Galactic Empire. During the Yuuzhan Vong occupation, the wide avenue leading to the estate house and the surrounding gardens were planted with bafforr trees to discourage the Vong from entering the grounds.
For centuries, members of the Namis family grew the small farm into a bustling plantation and the name was changed to the Violet Glade. There were ups and downs, but roughly 100 years ago, two generations of slowed demand for caf along with mismanagement and wasteful spending forced the last Namis to forfeit the Violet Glade to the bank over debts he had accrued. Much of the equipment and belongings of the Namis were sold off to cover their debts and the plantation itself fell into disrepair.
A Coruscanti nobleman named Cyrus Theron purchased the property and invested in replacement of the lost equipment and some modernization of the facility as well as the rehabilitation of the trees that had not been cared for during the fallow years. Using his wife's family's merchant house, he was able to find markets for Garqi grown beans and turn the plantation in a profitable venture once more, selling it as authentic caf from the planet where caf is native.
His marketing strategy worked and tastes for Garqian caf expanded his business, granting him the opportunity to purchase more land to cultivate more caf trees. The profits allowed his wife to pursue a political career while he managed the business, and grooming his daughter to succeed him. However, tragedy struck them when the Netherworld took half the workers and Cyrus himself. His daughter, Aurora runs the operations now with input from her mother from time to time.
