SETTING INFORMATION
  • Nexus Name: Valley of the Burned
  • Nexus Alignment: Dark
  • Location:
    Malastare
  • Affiliation: [member=Darth Timorem], [member=Taramaz Laurs]
  • Size: Large
  • Strength: Strong
  • Accessibility: The Main Temple is physically hidden inside a valley, that is obscured by the forests and mountains of Malastare. The Valley's main entrance is a stone hallway, with similar architecture to the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas. It's influence stretches from the center of the temple to just inside of the Valley's Entrance.
  • Description: A large stone temple, hidden inside a valley, covered by forests. Much akin to the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas. The entrance to the valley is like an entrance to an ancient sith tomb. It seems to be perpetually raining in this area of Malastare.
NEXUS EFFECTS
A resonating feeling of evil, and raw, Dark Side power to all, it also yields a higher temperature, though the rain cools most things off. It's effects on those who follow the light side can be catastrophic. They would be plagued with agonising pains, visions of all they care about burning, mind-numbing head aches, and their ability to use the force would dwindle. Enough to deter most from the temple. The effect only increases with power and mastery over the light side. However, those who count themselves among the dark side would find their powers only increasing, a lack of pain, and numbness to the heat of the valley. All ailments they had would be cured when in the valley. This effect only increases with power and mastery over the dark side. For those who do not identify as either, yet are force sensitive, would receive the pains and visions of the light siders, but the power increase of the dark siders. This effect applies to objects and creatures that belong to a certain side of the force. For example, dark side lightsaber crystals are more powerful, where as light side lightsaber crystals are less powerful, and those that are neither are unaffected. It is possible, that if a Dark Side user has enough power, and a strong enough bond to the place, they can take a form of ownership over it, able to control the traps and alter the visions the Nexus gives, in exchange, upon death, this user is bound to the temple as a guardian. This ability to control is only able to be used when inside the Nexus' effective range.

POINTS OF INTEREST

The Vault of the Wise:
  • A vault within the temple where all the holocrons, datacrons and tomes possessed by the Sith Lords Timorem, and Taramaz, are kept. It is one of the larger areas of the temple, and is down the main hall, on the first floor (2nd Floor for you Americans). The far left wall is completely dedicated to Jedi Holocrons, while the far right wall is dedicated to Sith Holocrons. The back wall is dedicated to datacrons, and there are shelves making up aisles that serve the books.
The Tomb of Unburned:
  • The largest room within the temple. It is composed of an ante-chamber, filled with statues of past Sith Lords. Inside the tomb itself, there are nine sarcophagi, one in each corner, two directly next to the entrance, and two next to the main sarcophagus. The main sarcophagus is made of the same Mandalorian Iron used in the
Fire Lord's Bulwark, it is also adorned with diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires, garnets, every type of gem you can think of. The walls are carved with stories from ancient times, detailing the life and events of Darth Timorem. The Dark Lord's Sarcophagus has a carving of a three headed dragon with six wings, breathing fire from each head. At the top of the left side wall, the top of the right side wall, and top of the back wall, there are three sculpted dragon heads, all aiming down to look at the Dark Lord's tomb. These dragon heads match that of the three headed dragon found on his sarcophagus. Hanging from the ceiling are three chandeliers of red crystals that burn eternally, like an immortal candle. Behind the Dark Lord's Sarcophagus, there is a stand for the Fire Lord's Bulwark, and on either side of the tomb, a holder for weapons.
The Dungeons of the Damned
  • One of the larger rooms within the temple. It holds ancient weapons used by past Sith empires, alchemised sith swords, jedi swords, and armour. It also holds a pool of blood for creating Alchemised Weapons and using Sith Sorcery. It is below the Temple's ground floor (First floor for you Americans), and it also contains an interrogation chamber, jail cells, shackles, and an execution chamber.
The Tomb of the Burned:
  • The third largest chamber in the temple, after the Tomb of the Invincible, and Tomb of the Unburned. It holds a hundred sarcophagi, all filled with the skeletons of the Dark Lord's servants. The most honoured of them all are granted slightly better sarcophagi at the end of the chamber, decorated with a single gem.
The Hall of the Tested:
  • The fourth largest chamber in the temple, it is also known as the Main Hall. At the back of the chamber there is a large statue of a horned Sith Pureblood. The walls of the hall are filled with carvings of Timorem's entire history. The hall also leads to the first floor (2nd floor for you Americans) and to the other chambers of the temple. It also leads outside into the Valley of the Burned. Along the path towards the statue at the back of the chamber, there are identical stone statues. Twelve in total, they face each other, looking down at the path to the main statue. This main statue has two large, glowing, red kyber crystals, attuned to the dark side. On the roof of the chamber, there is a mural of a three headed dragon.
The Tomb of the Invincible
  • The second largest chamber in the temple. It is composed of an ante-chamber, that has twenty sarcophagi in it. In the main chamber, there is only one sarcophagus, and that belongs to Taramaz Laurs, for his eventual death. It's made of Mandalorian Iron, and encrusted with black gems. The walls of the chamber are lined with carvings of his stories and history. His rise from a teen on the streets of Mandalore to a Sith Lord. The chamber contains it's own miniature armoury, boasting anything from a sword to an RPG.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Valley of the Burned came to be a Force Nexus from the slaughtering of the Zillo Beasts by a worse predator, which has been lost to time. The skeletons of these beasts dot the Valley of the Burned, some submerged in rivers, others hidden in caves, some became the homes of other animals. But this slaughter was not the only thing to contribute to the Nexus. The true power of the Nexus came from the Dark Side artefacts, Sith Holocrons, sacrifices, suffering, and anger of the undead guardians in the Temple. That is what gave the Valley it's power, but it's name was something different.

It's name comes from the campaign, thousands of years ago, lead by Darth Timorem. He ventured through the valley, using Force Pyrokinesis to burn anything that opposed him. This also started a great fire, burning the forest down, mostly. It later resurrected itself, and brought itself to the thriving valley of flora and fauna it is now. Due to it's secluded location, it has been unaffected, for a large part, by the events of the outside world, save for the artefacts within it. However, it did survive a notable assault by the Old Jedi Order, during the Cold War, when Darth Timorem was a member of Vitiate's Dark Council.

It was a multi-stage assault, back then, however, the temple had served as a military base of sorts. The first stage of the assault was a scouting party, who attempted to enter the valley, and search for discrete means of entry to the temple. After two days of no contact, a probe droid team was sent in, and discovered the mauled bodies of the scouting team, shredded by the natural predators. The second stage of the attack was an attempt at a stealth mission, with several of the Old Republic's most elite operatives being sent into the temple. An hour after the team had been contacted due to their late arrival for evac, their was no trace of them. Only in the third stage of the assault, when the Republic sent in a Jedi Strike team, composing of multiple Jedi Masters.

The Masters proceeded into the temple, when they then began to get affected by the Nexus' effects, which had not been as powerful, or at such great of a range as it is at present. The Masters endured, and proceeded farther into the temple, where they found the bodies of the operatives, impaled by spike traps. But they found no Imperial Forces. Further they went, and down into the dungeons, lured by their visions. When inside the dungeons, they were lead to the sacrifice room, where Darth Timorem and his now-dead apprentices slaughtered the group.

The operatives and Jedi Strike team now serve the temple in death as it's undead guardians. The Jedi in particular helped. Due to their immense force power, when they died, it was absorbed by the Nexus, and twisted into raw Dark Side power. This absorption increased the range of the Nexus greatly. It has since expanded to fit the borders it holds at present.
