Before joining the Golden Company, Azula had always been good with working with her hands. She loved to invent tools for her family to use in the mines that turned out to be much better than what they were given to work with. When she joined the Golden Company, her attention turned from mining tools, to weapons and tech to be used in combat. With the Golden Company's resources, she has been able to have he own little workshop she can operate in and craft tools for her and her comrades to use in battle.
Now, she works herself to near death innovating existing tech and creating new tech and watching her toys in use during the Golden Company's operations and, potentially, beyond.
RATIONALE
Azula created this workshop on her own. When she was able to acquire a ship, she renovated apart of the cargo hold for her workshop. From within, Azula has all the necessary tools she needs to make her inventions. What she doesn't have, she finds a way to acquire it. She worked hard to get where she is, not letting anyone or anything stop her from fulfilling her dream.
