Gutter Goddess
Arris thought Varin was taking his fight too seriously. It's not to the death. He should harass his opponent and get inside their head. Be reckless and unpredictable.
Her attention was drawn back to Mercy, who went on to describe Lily's opponent as a lot like herself. When she was younger, anyway. Arris couldn't exactly imagine Mercy with a hotter head than she'd seen her before. Though - to her credit - Mercy had mellowed out in a way. She took her role more seriously. Especially since Abregado-rae.
It seemed their little talk actually led somewhere effective.
"Then Lily is going to destroy him," Arris replied.
Her apprentice was smart. An advantage taker.
"He's good at what he does... but he operates on ideals," she said. "But he can be pragmatic about it when asked."
Still, she wondered if his 'code' would ultimately be a hindrance in this fight and beyond.
Arris turned back to the duels.
Varin was already proving her expectations wrong. He could be unpredictable, but he was careful, too.
Then Lily's voice drew her away from him and to her next.
“Say hello to someone and they try to kick you. What happened to etiquette?”
Arris snickered. "She fights like I do."
Her use of speed was impressive, and her moves were meant to draw her hot-headed opponent into making a mistake. If the zabrak was really like Mercy, then in a real fight it might not have mattered. But this wasn't a real fight. There were rules.
"Maybe I should teach her how to use a gun..."
That said, the zabrak was no slouch. He had power and was more than encouraged to use it thanks to Lily's taunting. At least, Arris attributed the man's rage to that. She had no idea what kind of storm stirred in the fighter's head.
She literally leaned forward on the edge of her seat, in anticipation of Lily's response.
"Don't disappoint me..." She whispered.
