The Ties That Bind Us (Echani/Mando's)

They'd tried this recently, only to have the then Mandalore no longer be Mandalore. Now they had to see to situating things once again. A couple of them had been caught in the crossfire of a fiasco on Eshan, namely something chiefly caused by a few Imperials that had shown up specifically to cause problems. She still didn't understand what had possessed Kamon to allow his daughter to bring the Empress to Eshan. If she'd known, she would have forbidden it herself. That woman had no place on their soil. Of course the same could be said for the Grandmaster of the Jedi, but at least he was civil, and representing an allied party.

A single IFAS exited hyperspace, again, at Mandalore. Immediately it ceased all movement and began broadcasting a friend code, signifying that the vessel wished to speak with a figure of authority. On the bridge of the ship was one Janira Fenni, council member and Grand Overseer of the Echani military forces. She leaned on her cane as she watched the screen, looking out at the vast number of vessels in front of them. The planet was heavily defended. She intended to see to it that Eshan had the same sort of defense in the not so distant future.

"Connection established."

Janira nodded and waited for the nod to speak. "This is Grand Overseer Janira Fenni of the Echani Compact. We've come to speak with your new Mandalore. Peacefully. I request permission to land to facilitate a meeting." That was all she needed to say, and that was all she did say. Now it was time to wait and see what happened. They'd get a response shortly.

"You have permission to land Grand Overseer." A Male Mandalorian said, over the Comm with the Echani "Mand'alor is expecting you." With that, a pair of Fighters formed up beside the Echani ship, leading it down to the Landing area set aside for diplomatic ships, where Alliera waited with a Mandalorian Retinue and in her armor. as the ship approached the landing pad, Alliera looked up at it as it came down, and felt emensly worried about how she'd perform here. Alliera spent the time waiting for the ship working on stress excersises her father had taught her, and when the ship landed, Alliera felt confident and worry-free.

RC watched the new Mandalore with interest as she moved through here exercises with grace and fluidity. It bespoke volumes of her character. From the corner of the pad RC and his Raider compliment stood with arms at the low ready. He did not intend to have a show of force for intimidation but rather as a failsafe to protect their leader from ambush.
RC spoke up to Alliera
"Seems like the whole galaxies shifting with your appointment to Mandalore."
With that comment he scanned the skies once more. His head was always on the swivel. It was a habit from a past life he once lead...

That was a lot easier than it had been last time. When last they'd shown up, the reception hadn't been all that welcoming. Granted she'd only experienced the reception once they'd landed as she'd been laid up in bed recovering from the illness she'd contracted while she was on Ord Mantell fighting the forces of Omni. That being the case, she was now fit as a fiddle, but she still used the cane as the doc had told her it would keep her from being unable to care for herself. That was his polite way of saying that she could use it to keep her from falling should she have an episode somewhere unfortunate. Either way, she rarely went anywhere without the cane anymore, just for the sake of having it.

The ship was escorted down and landed in the designated space. She noted the contingent waiting for them and then nodded to the captain before she went down to the boarding ramp, which lowered to allow a small escort of guards, mostly Thyrsians, out of the ship to protect her. She stepped down the ramp and approached the contingent of Mandalorians, looking them over before her eyes settled on Alliera. "I trust you are the one in charge." She didn't say that because it was a woman, but she could read things well enough. The others were shifted towards protecting her, but all were doing their best to keep an ample distance. "I am Janira Fenni, Grand Overseer of the Echani Compact. I'm here to negotiate an alliance between our people."

Rach made himself scarce. There were better places for him to be, after stupidly giving his real first name to Hanna on Eshan.

Yes, he was a political embarrassment to his wife. He pondered this elsewhere, with a pretty Ghostling and some glitterstim, and a very bad mood.

"Hopefully in our favor." The Young Mand'Alor said, regaurding her subordinate with a tilt of the head "Eather way, I'm thankfulll you and your people decided to join up."

Alliera watched the ship land, and the woman disembark with her guard. "Yes, I am the new Mand'Alor." Alliera said, nodding and offering her hand for a shake "Alliera Nakamura, I look forward to our discussions." Alliera then gestured for Janira to accompany her, and started guiding her to the Mandalorian Government building, landmarked by the statue being constructed in front of the building. "Whatever the reason for my predecessor's...abdication, he still protected my people." Alliera said, gesturing to the statue "I feel the need to honor him."

She shifted and took the offered hand, shaking it once, firmly, before releasing it. As the woman began to move, Janira followed, using her cane to make sure that she was able to keep her balance. She liked the cane. For one, it made people think she was weak, and therefore easy to defeat. That worked in her favor. Additionally, it made for a good object to thwack people with when they annoyed her. "Wouldn't a ship named in his honor be a better way to honor him than a statue?" She didn't know the ways of the Mando's, but that made sense to her. She would never want a statue of herself built. Usually weapons were named after great warriors. Ships too. At least amongst the Echani that was the case. "I'd never want a statue of myself built."

"That was my first thought, and it's probably still goin' to do it eventually, or maybe a class of ship..." Alliera said, nodding at her statements "But there's a problem, my predecessor didn't have a public name really, he was called 'The Bear'." Alliera continued walking, being carefull to avoid the construction area, and guiding Janira to do the same thing. "I may dedicate the statue to the Mand'Alors of the past, not just my predecessor." Alliera said, sighing "But right now, I got so many things I need to 'force down the pipe', I don't have time to turn around twice lately." Alliera opened the door to the building, and guided Janira up to Alliera's office. "Can I interest you in anything?"

RC stationed the Raiders outside the office and followed them in. He was interested to hear what the lady had to say and would gladly offer his new Mandalore counsel if need be. While the two talked he settled himself in a corner and drew up a chair. Inside his helmet he was reading status reports from the Dreadstar, waiting for things to get interesting...

Verz had been close by when the Echani ship docked. He had made his way to the Capitol builing, his rank getting him past the guards. He had fought side by side with the new Mandalore, but still sent a quick message, asking if he could offer counsel in any way. It was rude, after all, to barge into discussions. He walked around the building, when he spotted @[member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member=""][member="RC 212"] . He made his way over to his squadmate.

"Suc'uy ner vod." RC offered up as he spotted Verz approach. In lowtones RC opened his helmet comm to Verz's helmet and struck up his own conversation
"It seems the whole galaxy is dying to befriend our new Mandalore vod. I dont trust it, I think its all traps and games."
RC was a very distrustfull person by nature and silently he continued to size up the situation. They were vulnerable now with the transisition of power and many enemies on their doorstep. RC had long been a proponent of striking the enemy fast and hard. He was a tactician as much as a pirate by nature. It was leftover from his older memories of ARC flash training.

Janira nodded at what the Mandalor had to say. She didn't quite understand the politics of the Mandalorians, but she didn't really need to either. Suffice to say, the woman seemed to have somewhat of a handle on the situation with what to do towards her predecessor and those that came before him. Regardless, she shook her head at the offer of a drink. "Only if you have some water available. Alcohol does not mix well with my prescribed medications." She settled into a seat across from where the other woman would likely sit. Given her weak immune system, she was almost always on medications to keep from getting ill. Despite them, she often found herself having to deal with illnesses. "I'm sure you know we have an alliance with the Republic already so I won't beat around the bush there. However, we've been in discussions ever since I fought Verz about the necessity of an alliance with you. We all found such a thing acceptable given that our people are quite similar. But I wonder what you would feel about it?"

"Oh, I hope you get better soon." Alliera said, sounding sensere as she heard about Janira taking medication "Of course I have water." Alliera got a bottle of water out from a hidden compartment in her desk, along with a glass, before filling the glass and putting it in front of Janira. "I'll have a talk with my people about potentially causing international incidents." Alliera said, filling her own glass with a brand of fizzy soda "But I would be quite open to an alliance, and I would be appreciateive if you could open a diplomatic Channel between the republic and myself...I doubt my contacts from my days as a Jedi are intact or willing to talk to me."

"Unlikely. It's a health condition that can't be removed, but your well wishes are appreciated," Janira said as she reached for the glass and took a sip of the water. It was cool and refreshing. On some worlds, water was a delicacy because it was so rare. Not the case on Eshan, but she still appreciated a good glass of water regardless. "If you're referring to Verz causing an incident, don't worry about it. I challenged him to a fight." She smirked a little bit. "Beat him, too." She took another drink of her water and then set the glass down in front of her. "I can speak with contacts in the Republic. They are our only ally at the moment. We believe that the Sith will be attacking them soon, and that we'll be drawn into it. Even you likely will. It makes more sense for us to be working together than apart."
