DESCRIPTION
To put it simply, Currency was and is a system of monetary unit(s) or money that’s commonly used by people within a certain sector that’s been put into circulation, and subsequently legitimized by a regional authority. It’s considered to be the principal medium of exchange between two parties, either for imparted goods or services rendered. In addition to this, Currency - in its myriad forms - are recognized as a store of value and often traded in foreign markets, which inevitably determines their relative value. Naturally, Currencies are defined by their Issuing Authority or Government, and each type has limiting boundaries of acceptance likely established by Diplomatic Relationships.

The Thyrsian Solari was no different. Minted in the aftermath of the Liberation Crusade, the Solari became the primary Currency of Thyrsus - a militant world nestled within the proverbial heart of the Inner Rim. The establishment of the Solari was done in the hopes of bringing a sense of stability to the Region. It was also done in the hopes of helping the Thyrsian people restore their sense of pride, whilst they worked towards rehabilitating their exploited resources. Due to the aforementioned issue of precious materials being taken away from the System, the fledgling Hierarchy relied solely on the injection of wealth from the Golden Company - whose organization found itself far wealthier than many small Stellar Empires.

With the accumulated War Spoil and countless treasures forged from various precious metals, Thyrsus found itself in a favourable position, and the Solari thereafter was backed by the proverbial Dragon’s hoard.

When it came to the Thyrsian Currency proper, the Solari was available in a multitude of formats which ranged from solitary coins to chips and vouchers. The coins themselves were machined to perfection, and stamped with the year they were minted alongside a signature seal that was one of a kind - as any physical currency should be. Such a process ensured that counterfeiting would be difficult, if not impossible, to follow through with - making it far more trouble than it’s worth. The same mentality was applied to their digital formats, as renowned slicers could easily alter their values. So, to avoid such issues, the Thyrsians utilized a triple-pyrowall approach alongside hardwired failsafes, which made things nigh-impossible to slice into and alter - without rendering the device inert, and therefore worthless.

As there were multiple values and denominations, the Hierarchy believed that their coinage be made from a breadth of materials - not only to alleviate the burden on the exploited resources of Thyrsus - but to offer a measure of diversity. Such a choice was to reflect the evolving culture of the Thyrsian people, as well as showcasing their martial heritage - since several runs of the coins were made from pilfered Beskar and Charubah steel, alongside various other metals scavenged from the battlefield. As one could expect, the coins would also be cast with commemorative images on either their obverse and reverse faces - either detailing great battles in microcosm, or the sculpted profiles of ancient heroes long-dead.

And so, with the Solari in hand, the varied peoples of the Thyrsian Hierarchy found themselves holding onto a physical manifestation of their bright, and bountiful future.
