The Templar Order

Introduction & Membership

The Templar Order is a congregation of Force wielders that reside in Confederate space. Inherently good in terms of alignment, the Templars are unique in that their doors are open to receive all Force-sensitive individuals; regardless of persuasion. As such, the Order is populated by a variety of persons whom hail from all three persuasions of the Force: Light, Dark , and Neutral. However, it is to be noted that, while the Templars gladly accept an individual's choice in Force alignment, they do not accept established cultures within their ranks. A Jedi, Sith, or otherwise attempting to enter the Order would be free to retain their alignment in the Force, but would be expected to shed the practices and labels associated with their former affiliations. In order to join the Templars, a hopeful individual must simply interact with any member of the Order. Through this, they will be given a Templar Signet Ring(linktechsub) and formally be recognized as apart of the Order. (Alternatively, one can simply join the CIS faction and sign up here.)

How Did the Templar Order Begin?

Eons ago, there once lived an ancient King whose kingdom was centered upon the planet Roon. For years, he wielded the Force as his tool to both conquer his enemies and to protect his people. The reign of this King was just, and every decision he made was steeped in wisdom. Morality was the foundation upon which he built his realm and, by the hands of both the King and his circle of Knights, the kingdom knew an era of peace and prosperity. Alas, even a monarch as just and wise as the King had his enemies; and on one fateful day they banded together and marched against the realm. Faced with their impending doom, the King and his knights rode out to face the armies of their enemies and fought until the last man. Though the battle was hopeless, they were determined to purchase valuable time for the people to evade certain death and flee into the mountains. By their blood, they succeeded...but the Kingdom fell to the rampage of the enemy. Thus did the sole beacon and justice of the era see itself extinguished by the hands of its enemies, destined to fade into the realm of memory...

This legend was passed down from generation to generation and was the inspiration that led the first Archon, Xos'Nulo, to establish the Templar Order in the modern era. Having lived centuries, himself, the Anzat acknowledged the necessity for a beacon of justice and wisdom, founded upon a strong sense of morality, to exist in the post-Darkness Galaxy. The Archon pooled the entirety of the resources he had accumulated over the course of his lifetime and established the Order on the very same world as that the King of old had ruled: Roon. It is even speculated that the citadel that the Templars reside within on Roon had been the very same ruled by the ancient King of legend...

What Do the Templars Believe? What Sets the Templars Apart?

We few have been chosen for greatness.
We are not called to be slaves to the instincts of beasts, nor do we shun the passions of man.
But we distinguish ourselves as those who have pledged fealty to the Realm; and now live out our days as wardens of the People.
We ascribe to the highest standard of discipline, justice, and wisdom; and use the Force as our tool to conquer and defend.
The innocent need not fear our coming; but for the realm's liberty, we shall gladly stain our hands in blood.
We shall fight the good fight with all of our might; and through our deeds earn the right to bear the name Templar.

Philosophically-speaking, the Templar Order distinguishes itself from the two most famous denominations of Force wielders, the Jedi and the Sith, in a variety of ways. To begin, the Order, as aforementioned, does not lean one way or another in terms of Force alignment. In fact, the Templars view the Force as a tool to be utilized in the fulfillment of their beliefs and goals. (It is this believe that has inspired the tolerance of all Force alignments in the Order, but not established cultures) Unlike the Jedi or the Sith, the Templars epitomize moral responsibility over ascribing to a particular side of the Force. They exercise self-control and self-examination, as opposed to giving into blind passion or expelling all emotion. Put simply, the Templars believe in embracing that which defines humanity whilst holding themselves accountable to a high ethical standard.

The primary concern of the Templar Order is the concept of "The Realm"; which are the millions upon millions of lives under the protection of the Order. For them, the Templars act as guardians and guides, dedicated to the upholding of law, order, and peace throughout. For the good of the Realm, the Templars must diligently prepare to and fight any and all threats against the sovereignty of the people; whilst doing all in their power to care for their needs. Their loyalty is, all in all, to the people they have sworn to guide and protect; and to one another.

Membership within the Templar Order is more than simply joining a new congregation of Force wielders. It is stepping inside a fellowship whose members will gladly lay down their lives in defense of one of their people and one another. Templars look after their own, until the bitter end; and once an individual joins the Order they are considered brethren for life. For one another, and the Realm, Templars are willing to stain their hands in blood and fight to the very last man and breath; just as the ancient King did for his people. However, it is noted that it is abhorrent to harm the innocent, and the Templars will gladly hold their brethren accountable for breaking this edict or committing any wrongs which conflict with the Templar mindset.

How is the Templar Order Organized?

At the helm of the Templar Order is the Grand Council: a congregation of nine individuals whom oversee the entirety of the Order's operations. They are led by the Archon, an elected Master chosen for the epitomization of the Templar values. Each seat on the Grand Council oversees a particular branch of the Order as a whole and consists of:
  • Archon: Leader of the Templar Order (Currently @[member="Feena Mason"])
  • Marshal of the Order: Second-in-Command of the Templar Order (Currently @Isley Verd)
  • Lord/Lady Commander: Leader of the Templar Crusaders (Currently Open)
  • Lord/Lady Supplicator: Leader of the Templar Curates (Currently Open)
  • Lord/Lady Inquisitor: Leader of the Illuminati (Currently @[member="Ket Van Derveld"])
  • Prelate of the Chroma Zed Sanctum: Leader of the Sanctum on Chroma Zed (Currently Open)
  • Prelate of the Ryloth Sanctum: Leader of the Sanctum on Ryloth (Currently Open)
  • Prelate of the Sriluur Sanctum: Leader of the Sanctum on Sriluur (Currently Open)
  • Prelate of the Roon Sanctum: Leader of the Sanctum on Roon (Currently Open)
  • Knight Exemplar: Representative of the Templar Knights (Currently @[member="Kara Avoyos"])
  • Seneschel: Leader of the Small Council (Currently Open)
Directly underneath the Grand Council is the Small Council. It is composed of every Master within the Order who does not sit pon the Grand Council. Led by the Seneschel, it is their duty to coordinate with the Prelates in order to effectively train and educate the entirety of the Order in fundamental and specialist applications of the Force.

What are the Divisions of the Templar Order?

Housed within the Templar Order are three distinct divisions: two of which whose existence is publicly known and one that is not. The Crusaders is easily the largest of the three units and consists of "those who fight". It is the responsibility of the Crusaders to keep the peace and to uphold the law; as well as to raise their blades and bows alongside the Confederacy on the field of battle. The Curates are, quite literally, the opposite of the Crusaders and consist of "those who mend". As a whole, the Curates revolve around the utilization of alchemy and the sciences to develop advanced means of pushing forth the goals of the Order; as well as, of course, healing and tending to the sick and wounded. Lastly, the Illuminati is a division that, officially and publicly, does not exist. In fact, its scope and purpose is so secretive that its leader, the Lord/Lady Inqusitor, holds a double identity: being the liason between the Templars and the Bothan SpyNet thereby making this individual one of the most informed persons in the Galaxy. As a whole, the Illuminati are "those who work in the dark" and are dedicated to the fulfillment of Templar goals through Stealth. (Due to the scope of this division, additional information will gladly be provided over PM)

What Can A New Templar Look Forward To? Is There Anything Else I Should Know?

Aside from taking part in a unique, player-created Force user organization, there are a plethora of great things to look forward to:
  • Doashim mounts!
  • Templar Crossbows!
  • Crusades!
  • And much, much more!
It is to be noted that all Templars are to wear either the Neutral, Dark Jedi, or Rogue rank titles only. This is the new standard for membership within the Order as it signifies our being distinct from the other, established traditions in the Galaxy. On a lighter note, it is to be noted that, as a whole, the Templars place a strong emphasis upon versatility. As such, upon joining the Order, all Templars will be given access to a variety of arms and equipment that is listed, in length, within the Faction forums.

If you are interested in joining the Templar Order, simply join the CIS faction page and post in the sign up, located: Here.
