It had been some months since the woman had escaped the battle of Mirial. And then turned back to the Sith, seduced by the darkside. In this time Ari had come to find Solace in the Sith Empire, growing her abilities, honing her skills. But the taint of the darkside gave her such powers, that she was doubly careful with them. Where once she'd been a reckless Padawan learner, and stalwart Ranger, she was more reserved in her dealings.
She sat at the edge of an long table, with a table cloth of gold and blue embroidery. On the other side was Teem Salath, a Quarren Governor of the world. A few representatives of the Inter Galactic Banking Clan had also taken notice, moving to the meeting to finance her.
If her words could be true.
Of course she had allies too, should the situation go afoul. A Master of Rhen she had once met, and few others.
She folded her hands on the table and ignored the banquet laid out before them as the Munns of the Banking Clan stroked their chins in trepidation.
"Miss Zanareth. I looked over your proposal and I must say, the Ruling party fiinds it agreeable. There is but one problem."
She nodded, icy blue eyes piercing the Quarren, her squeezing him in the force, trying to compel him to spill his guts.
"Which is?" She asked, calm and collected.
"The opposition party hates the Sith Occupation. They'd rather not even deal with you. No Telos has been a flourishing center of trade in the galaxy and I too have my doubts."
She groaned inwardly and then cocked an eyebrow.
"I have the banking Clan here ready to invest half a trillion credits in my rise to power. With that we can rebuild infrastructure, several Capital Ship Yards and even establish a stronger schooling system for the citizens. What is the hangup?"
"The footage of Mirial. The Populists are concerned that the Sith risk an attack. Perhaps from the Silvers, perhaps from the Alliance. I too hold some of the same fears."
"You'll have to put your faith in us then. When have we not delivered to a world we claimed?"
The Quarren waved his hand errant and arrogant. Ari felt a small sneer curling her lip and moved to suppress it. She could pop his eyeballs like ripe fruit if she so wished.
"My advisor’s and I will have to confer. In the meantime, make yourself at home in the Executive suite."
She nodded, displeasure heavy in her brow and rose.
"Let us retire then."
She pushed her chair in, and then her advisor’s and her exited the room. In that retinue a curious Master of the Force she'd come to revere. Kyrel Ren.
