OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name:
  • The Tarsai Vigil.
  • Classification:
  • Company.
  • Affiliation:
  • The Order of the Sith Lords.
  • The Royal Naboo Republic.
  • Organization Symbol:
  • You can see the symbol for this organisation here.
  • Description:
  • The Tarsai Vigil is a subsidiary of Cortessan Finance Group. It operates along the Five Veils Route following the aftermath of the Planetshift event and was created to provide security to the trading route. As part of it's protocol it ran inspections of other ships using the route to check for contraband, illegal items or criminal activity while enforcing tolls on others using the trading route for commercial or civilian transportation. It also serves in the capacity of bringing about the re-establishment of the route on the behalf of Wend Marcion and their megacorp. Tarsai Vigil is headquartered on the planet Enarc.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters:
  • Enarc.
  • Domain:
  • Tarsai Vigil lays claim to the Five Veils Route as part of it's operations to provide security along the trading route. It's relationship with both commercial and civilian transports, ships and their respective pilots or captains is awful. The company has a reputation for stopping ships for inspection when they weren't breaking the law, and for detaining or arresting people when they were not justified. It has a reputation for being hated due to the high tariffs it imposes on imports and exports coming and go through the trading route, as well as demanding toll fees for passage and use of the Five Veils Route.
  • Notable Assets:
  • The Tarsai Vigil is backed by a vast sum of GCS following a heist that was conducted by Her Her which followed the economic collapse of The Empire of the Lost. You can read more about this in The Heist of the Century That Nobody Knows About.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
  • Tarsai Vigil is a subsidiary of Cortessan Finance Group. Therefore it is answerable and operates under the discretion of it's parent company.
  • Rather than a top-down command structure, Tarsai Vigil organizes its people into circles of influence called Strands, overseen by a Council of Fractals. Authority is earned by how effectively one can "fracture chaos into order" -- through control, manipulation or violence.
  • Top-Level Command: The Council of Fractals.
  • The supreme body consists of Five Fractals, each responsible for a core domain of control. They are not public-facing; most operatives only know their codenames. These are:
  • Fractal Verge - Navigation and Territory. Sets patrol zones, unlocks black routes, governs anchorage points.
  • Fractal Thorn - Enforcement and Weaponry. Oversees armed assets, bounty protocols, sanction hits.
  • Fractal Vein - Finance and Tribute. Manages tariffs, ransom yields, internal incentives.
  • Fractal Loom - Propaganda and Indoctrination. Controls symbols, myths, and morale engineering.
  • Fractal Gloom - Secrets and Shadows. Handles internal audits, leaks, assassinations, Force-related threats.
  • Mid-Tier Organisation: The Strands.
  • Tarsai Vigil's mid-level structure is built on Strands -- autonomous operating sects, each with a core philosophy and speciality. Members may transfer strands, but doing so requires authorization from The Council of Fractals.
  • Strand of Cinders - Combat and ship interdiction.
  • Strand of Echoes - Signal interception, sensor tempering, misinformation.
  • Strand of Hollows - Stealth operations, sabotage, internal surveillance.
  • Strand of Thorns - Enforcement, prisoner handling, psy-ops.
  • Strand of Glass - Trade control, negotiation, tribute extraction.
  • Strand of Blood - Medical, cybernetic enhancement, chemical warfare.
  • Each Strand is led by a Tether, not a commander -- a guiding presence whose authority is reinforced through the backing of the Five Fractals.
  • Tarsai Vigil Ranks & Roles (Across Strands)
  • Ranks are metaphorical and poetic, reflecting the company's obsession with control through symbolic order.
  • Ember - Entry Tier - New recruit. Must undergo the Veilwalk to advance -- a hyperspace trial where one must deliver cargo through a silent anomaly alone.
  • Threaded - Core Operative - Fully initiated into a Strand. Wears a stylized polyfiber cloak showing a loyalty pattern. (See Image Credit)
  • Knot - Squad Leader - Responsible for operational flow. Named for their ability to "bind" chaos.
  • Spindle - Senior Operative - Leads entire cells or ships. They have authority to negotiate or kill without pre-clearance.
  • Warden of Fray - Elite Enforcer - Inter-Strand operative assigned only to critical unrest or rebellion. Moves outside the chain of loyalty.
  • Chorus - Ritual and Morale Officer - Delivers mantras, controls rhythm of thought and behaviour inside the group.
  • Hollow-Eye - Internal Watcher - Espionage among the Tarsai Vigil. They wear white masks and never speak aloud.
  • Membership:
  • Approximate Size of Organisation:
  • Tarsai Vigil maintains a force of approximately 4,000-5,500 active personnel, distributed across:
  • Strike groups and interdiction patrols (40%)
  • Trade enforcement, station security, and border assets (35%)
  • Logistics, signal intelligence, and support (15%)
  • Command, administration, and internal affairs (10%)
  • Personnel spread thin across the Five Veils Route and adjacent systems, operating from semi-mobile outposts, contract vessels, and neutral dockyards. Vigil operatives are known for working in tight, modular squads -- scalability is preferred over bulk presence.
  • What It Takes to Join:
  • Tarsai Vigil recruits through licensed brokers, mercenary guild listings, and discreet referrals. While its image retains a hardened edge, its recruit process is transparent and performance based:
  • Applicants must be of legal age to work in the Royal Naboo Republic, in control of their legal identity (fake or real), and not bound to active service by another major force.
  • Background checks assess combat experience, loyalty under duress, and financial discretion -- not criminal history.
  • Interviews are conducted by mid-level officers, known as Knots or Spindles, who assess behaviour under pressure, chain-of-command compliance, and intent.
  • Missions and Tasks to Prove Skill:
  • During and beyond the Veilwalk, agents may take on:
  • Route Control Missions - Intercepting illegal cargo, redirecting trade flows, and issuing toll directives.
  • Escort Contracts - Protecting high-value convoys or Cortessan-linked assets.
  • Conflict Meditation - Sometimes with force, sometimes via negotiation backed by implied threats.
  • Internal Audits - Identifying corruption or betrayal within The Tarsai Vigil.
  • Promotion and permanence depend on track record, consistency, and tactical independence.
  • Corporate Partnerships and Hiring:
  • External companies may contract with Tarsai Vigil through Cortessan Finance Group by:
  • Applying for a Protection Compact - Granting the company safe trade through the Five Veils Route in exchange for recurring yield or performance share.
  • Offering logistical or technical services - Engineers, AI specialists, medics, and cybernetics firms are often hired for short-term contracts.
  • Embedding Operatives - Companies may propose candidate personnel to operate under Tarsai Vigil command in exchange for training or influence.
  • All corporate hires are vetted, tracked, and assigned a Contract Anchor -- a liasion within Tarsai Vigil's internal affairs team.
  • Climate:
  • Friendly Local Business?
  • No. Tarsai Vigil is not a friendly neighbourhood defense force. While it mtaintains a publicly neutral, corporately sterile image, the day-to-day environment is marked by paramilitary tension, clipped professionalism, and eyes-always-watching discipline. Civilians and traders along the Five Veils Route may speak of the Tarsai Vigil with a gruding respect -- they make the lanes safer, but you don't linger near them, and you don't ask too many questions. There's no small talk. No market place smiles. They aren't here to make friends. They're here to enforce profitable stability.
  • Czerka-Style Intrigue?
  • Absolutely -- but quieter. Tarsai Vigil operatees with a culture of strategic paranoia. Loyalty is measured in action, not allegiance. Operatives don't backstab each other openly, but they track performance metrics, file quiet reports, and review incident footage constantly. The Council of Fractals encourages internal audits, anonymous feedback, and rotational leadership to avoid corruption. You're never sure if the junior tech you dismissed yesterday is now your evaluator tomorrow. But unlike Czerka, Tarsai Vigil doesn't indulge in overt cruelty or decadence. Their intrigue is cold, technical and efficient. You don't get demoted for stepping out of line -- you get transferred to a hollowed-out asteroid with no backup.
  • Are You at Risk of Expiring Just by Checking In at Work?
  • Not by default -- but complacency is fatal. Daily life in Tarsai Vigil is functionally safe, but not comfortable. You're to be ready at all times for:
  • A rerouted contract turning into a live-fire situation.
  • A misidentified transponder code revealing a hostile incursion.
  • An announced drill testing your airlock response time.
  • Facilities are clean, efficient, and harsh. Sleeping pods are cycled. Privacy is a privilege, not a right. Your locker may be scanned without warning.
  • You don't die just by showing up -- but you will be tested regularly. The moment you assume you're off duty, you fail.
  • What Does It Feel Like from the Inside?
  • Inside the Tarsai Vigil, the feeling is one of disciplined tension, structured autonomy, and weaponized professionalism.
  • Chain of command is absolute -- but everyone is expected to think critically and to act without needing constant direction.
  • You are surrounded by high-competence operators who don't care who you are -- only what you produce.
  • Trust is rare, but respect is earned fast and lost faster.
  • There's a quiet pride in belonging -- those who thrive in the Tarsai Vigil feel like they've joined a clean machine in a galaxy of chaos.
  • Humour exists, but it's dry, sharp, and often a coping mechanism. Celebration is rare. Morale is built on survival, pay, and status updates. There are no pep talks. But there's always a briefing.
  • Reputation:
  • Tarsai Vigil is aligned to the Cortessan Finance Group and it's goals. Whatever reputation it's parent company has, Tarsai Vigil shares it. Along the Five Veils Route that it operates along they are detested by virtually everyone who comes across them due to their policies and ability to turn nothing into something. There is a constant sense of anxiety for anyone using the Five Veils Route about the possibility of running into a Tarsai Vigil patrol that is almost guaranteed to ruin your day no matter who you are. It almost feels like that this subsidiary was created to extract as much money and profits that it can on behalf of it's parent company with disregard to the plight of other commercial activity, or civilians passing through the Five Veils Route.
  • Curios:
  • Upon promotion to the rank of Threaded within the organisation a member will receive a polyfiber cloak with the company's logo etched onto the back. If you become a Hollow-Eye then you receive a white mask which distinguishes your place in The Tarsai Vigil.
  • Rules:
  • The Tarsai Directives:
  • 1. Command is Clarity - Orders from superior threads are to be followed without delay or revision unless override protocols are engaged.
  • 2. Silence Protects Profit - Operational details, client identities, and patrol data are strictly classified. Breaches result in contract voiding or permanent severance.
  • 3. Efficiency Over Emotion - Do not endanger personnel, cargo, or objectives due to sentiment. Compassion is not prohibited -- but incompetence is.
  • 4. Dead Units Don't Collect - Tarsai Vigil operatives are expected to preserve themselves and their teams. Recklessness is not valour.
  • 5. Yield is the Measure - Your rank, privileges, and future contracts depends on your performance metrics. Every decision is a calculation.
  • 6. Internal is Eternal - All disputes, betrayals, or accusations must be resolved within the Tarsai Vigil. Outside arbitration is considered disloyalty.
  • 7. No Ghosts in the System - Your will check in. You will log your actions. No unregistered movements, silent missions, or unauthorized absence.
  • Goals:
  • Tarsai Vigil's goals is to become the premiere, undisputed security force along the Five Veils Route. While this subsidiary could never compare or contest the jurisdiction and naval power of the Royal Naboo Republic (whom control vast swathes of the Mid Rim of which the Five Veils Route goes through and where The Tarsai Vigil operate) they do intend to muscle out competition, and subsequently monopolize their ability to run tariffs, control toll costs, and run inspections among crew or cargo of commercial, or civilian ships operating along the trade route that they run. Aligned to their parent company -- Cortessan Finance Group -- and it's aims to re-establish the Five Veils Route to become the 'next' Corellian Run through The Five Veils Conspiracy, the subsidiary has quieter aspirations which lay in surveillance and monitoring of the Royal Naboo Republic through it's founder: a secret Sith Lord known only as Her Her who is a member of The Order of the Sith Lords.
MEMBERS
Her Her - A mysterious, enigmatic figure of no known origin, or name, she is secretly a Sith Lord and member of The Order of the Sith Lords. She created Tarsai Vigil as a subsidiary of the Cortessan Finance Group to support the goals of the equally mysterious Wend Marcion.
The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger - In public the secretive face behind N&Z Umbrella Corporation possesses no connections to Tarsai Vigil. However, through a pact made between himself and Her Her , this Sith Lord receives a steady stream of information and details regarding Tarsai Vigil's operations within Royal Naboo Republic space.
Amalia Visconti | Mira Rhory Amalia Visconti | Mira Rhory - This child of Umbrella was made a point of contact, and middleman for Her Her within N&Z Umbrella Corporation. It is through this woman that most of the ships, vehicles, weapons and other forms of technology that are used by The Tarsai Vigil are supplied through contracts arranged between it and Umbrella.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

In 902 ABY a great change occurred within our galaxy. They called it the Planetshift: a momentous event in which formerly fringe satellite galaxies were inexplicably pulled closer to our galaxy causing planets, their star systems and entire star sectors to change their astronomical position. These changes coincided with the collapse, and the complete change in well known hyperlanes. Many cried out in terror to this new era of Chaos as these uncertain times led to the fear of change. However, where others saw trouble, some saw opportunity.

The Cortessan Finance Group-- a megacorp owned by the enigmatic Wend Maricon-- saw to the re-establishment of the Five Veils Route as a project that would revitalize this ancient trading route and make it the 'next' Corellian Run. In order to facilitate this a subsidiary was founded on the planet Enarc which would become a security force created to operate along the trading route that would be in charge of maintaining and coming up with tariffs on imports or exports from worlds of which the route operates through; ensuring that tolls were paid by civilian, or commercial craft that were using the hyperlane; and inspecting cargo, and the crews of ships passing through the Five Veils Route in the search for illegal contraband, or criminal activity.

Mystery surrounds the woman responsible for the creation of this subsidiary. With no known name, or even an alias to call her by, the individual colloquially known only as Her Her approached the Cortessan Finance Group with the idea of coming up with the name of the subsidiary, it's hierarchy, protocols and goals. Her offer came with a large abundance of wealth that was stolen from The Empire of the Lost during it's economic collapse in 902 ABY. Of course the parent company were unaware of the way that the credits (which were later used to fund The Tarsai Vigil) were obtained, and not many questions were asked after contracts between the subsidiary and N&Z Umbrella Corporation were offered as part of the pitch

With a quick and efficient means to launch the subsidiary, which included manpower, ships, weaponry, vehicles and other forms of technology provided by N&Z Umbrella Corporation, Her Her 's offer was accepted and The Tarsai Vigil was subsequently founded on Enarc mere weeks after negotiations had begun. With the right pockets paid, and with enough coercion, anything is possible. While the connections to Umbrella are clear due to the abundance of products used by this subsidiary, the official standing between this company to the conglomerate based on Eriadu are one as commercial partners due to sale and acquisition of their products. Secretly there is an arrangement between Her Her and The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger (the face behind Umbrella) who receives a steady stream of information and intelligence in regards to the subsidiaries dealings within the territories of The Royal Naboo Republic.

Therefore the subsidiary, which is a legitimate, if not new security company which operates in RNR space is a discreet means of allowing the likes of Her Her and The Lord of Hunger The Lord of Hunger to learn more about the Republic, it's politics and other useful information. As a member of The Order of the Sith Lords, Her Her seeks to target and eradicate members of the Jedi faith across the galaxy. With the Order of Shiraya existing in The Royal Naboo Republic, they are a target for the enigmatic Sith Lord who follows the ways of the Rule of Two. Therefore this subsidiary and her creation of it is a front to discover more about her adversaries who protect the planet of Naboo through the participation of The Five Veils Conspiracy.
