The Tainted Legion

Malachor V, The Tainted City

The abandoned warehouse was empty besides a few tables and a single figure sitting at one of them. Darth Abyss, until this day the undoubted ruler of the Tainted City at least unofficially, waited for another to arrive. [member="Causstik Rahn"], a notorious criminal that had aided him on a mission on Nar Shaddaa already was the one he had called for, as many of his contacts inside the Black Tie Syndicate had recommended him as the right person for the job.

The job was simple, at least for the mercenary. Abyss on the other hand had a more complex task to execute, but that was the curse of stacking as much power as he had. This City wasn't like any other, not even like Nar Shaddaa. The crime capital was wild and untamed, but there were still rules that anyone had to follow, set by whoever was the top dog. In the Tainted City, there was only the flux, a fragile balance that kept the chaos in check. But this balance was threatened by a new group that had emerged, calling themselves the "Heretics" in defiance of the title Abyss used in the underworld: "Prophet."

Abyss didn't liked to interfere with the flux, and most gangs were aware that the sith would only act when his hand was forced to do so. As long everyone allowed the chaos to rule, while respecting the balance to continue, there was no need to act. But the heretics thought that they stood above anyone, and so they made a grave mistake. The gang war was exiled to the notorious red light district of the city, so the violence in the other districts could be kept as low as possible. For the other gangs this worked well enough, as it allowed them to openly attack each other, without any competitors becoming strong enough to take over everything.

The heretics had expanded there turf outside of the red light district, infecting other parts of the city with violence and crime, parts where it wasn't meant to be that way. This kind of behavior called for a direct, brutal reaction, to make it clear once and for all that the flux would continue to exist as long as there was still air in Abyss lungs. But he couldn't openly walk into battle with an army, at least not without risking his status as the shadow that ruled the city by manipulation and not by force. So instead he had called for a conference of the strongest rivals of the heretics, raising an army, a Tainted legion to secure the state of his city. The only thing that had been missing was an outsider that could lead it, without being caught up in the conflict and infighting that would certainly come with a brittle alliance like this. There were a few more details, which he would tell the mercenary once he would arrive.
