They would leave the ground vehicle behind them and walk the stone path. Standing on the edge of the ridge, Coci looked across to the ruin entrance that would lead them to ruins of Gorma-Koss. "We will have to jump", she stated frankly to Padawan Athelon with a turn of her head and a smile at her own obvious observation.

Gorma-Koss, an ancient site of a city home to the Gormak, an ancient warrior race that had once lived by the thousand in this city. It was a city unlike most, huts and tents in which they rested and traded from littered the grounds with only a stone wall for protection. That was probably all that was left, it that, of the ruins however, there had been stirring in the force, Coci had felt it and the need for investigation was paramount. Although the Assembly had agreed an investigation was required they did not seem to concerned, but Coci had decided to take a look anyway, just to be certain.

There had been no sighting of anything unusual in these parts, no reports of strange movement or activity but, she could not shake the sensation of a degree of trepidation. Maybe it was just her paranoia that sometimes returns to her, a whispered condition from the past when she once resided in the Shadows.

"Shall we?", she offered for Emiery to go first. If she falls, Coci will catch her.

She had been going for walks in the forests and soft hikes at the base of the mountains ever since her recovery from the ordeal of being spat out of the Nether after centuries of disorientation within it. Finding her feet, finding her peace, were still ongoing challenges, and each step was won day-by-day. Fear had been conquered first, taking her to Yavin IV, the Jedi Academy, and Port Shardrock where she had gained the acquaintance of [member="Samael Rekali"] in rather unexpected circumstances, but that was a safe trip, relatively speaking. Going further afield would take time.

She gave a small curl of her lips in kind, then inched towards the edge to look over it to what lay so far down below - there was nothing she could see - and stepped back when she was satisfied, and a little more wary; Coci had given the first jump to her, and all she could do was return her face somewhat wide-eyed to the older woman.

"A... running start, then?" She could recall the Jedi of Pelagon testing their skills in vaulting themselves between the artificial islands, and this divide was small by comparison. "Or...?"

Each day spent with Emiery was a learning experience for Coci. The young woman had been in the galaxy a long time ago, but now returned, it was difficult to understand her level of abilities when using the force. This would all reveal with time of course, but she knew that Emiery would have some, 'hidden treasure' of force use within her yet to be realised. Coci knows of a few that have time spent in life, longer then even she, and this girl is one of them.

"Or .. you could use the force to jump", she said wide eyes looked into her own. "If you feel more comfortable with a running start, that is fine. By pulling the force to yourself, and centering the power of it to your limbs and legs, to force will aid you across the gap. Doing this .. not only to jump, but to strengthen yourself physically, is how a Jedi strenthens their limbs for others reason, like combat".

Coci moved to the edge of the ridge, to not only give Emiery room, but there in case of a fall. She gave the girl a nod conformation that she could try but if she had further questions they would be addressed.

She nodded understanding.

"Okay," and she turned from the edge, to walk back several feet, "okay, you can do this, Em," and once she was satisfied that she had a long enough runway, she turned to face her challenge again, going back on her heels, up to the balls of her feet, then down again. Bending her knees, gently wheeling her arms, she attempted to pump herself up, pulling at the tendrils of the all-encompassing Force, drawing in its boundless energy, "that's it, here we go," and she was off.

There was a grace to the lithe creature as each stride devoured the distance, a gazelle pulled out of time, and within moments the chasm came up to swallow her; it was too late to stop, for she would only tumble down into what lay below. Next thing she knew, she was flying, then falling, then hitting the ground with one foot, a fumble, and a fall that scraped her side across the ground on the other side of the crack in the earth. She groaned, and after a moment unfurled her arms from around her head and pushing herself upright to see across, back to where she'd left Coci.

It smarted, but she made it, "That was... quite ungraceful!" she shouted. And then she proceeded to get up and brush herself off.

A hand came to her mouth in an effort to hide a smile as her Padawan sored through the air across the open gap. Over time Emiery would learn how to not over compensate when using the force to propel herself but the lesson had been learned and now she has the ability to use the force to jump and strengthen her limbs for any application when the need arises.

Coci soon followed her Padawan and leaped across the gap to land beside her with a more controlled landing, naturally. "When you land, use the force to stop you, to cushion your descent and you will land more 'gracefully', I .. I may have failed to mention that", she grinned, although her lack of full direction was not intentional.

The two Jedi stood between two pillars, now fatigued and crumbling with age and no doubt succumbing to the elements, however they still hold much history of Voss within the stone and reaching out her hand to rest upon the cold stone, Coci could sense the past, those people that had once walked between this rock and beyond. There is strangeness about this place, the touch of the light and the dark even in the soil on which they stood. Voss is steeped in much history, of both relationships to the force, the beginnings of the alignments written in the fabric of the people, but now they are gone or if they have remained they are few and well hidden.

"Shall we proceed?", she asked as her Padawan stood ready after brushing herself down and not hurt. Walking along the old path, barely visible in direction as it has been over grown with nature reclaiming it, they moved into more open space between jutting banks of boulders. Eventually they would reach the place in which the 'city' had once thrived with activity and life but only the small pockets of stone work remained.

Her eyes traipsed over the pillars, worn and eaten away by time, and she considered for a moment that her former self, in a manner of speaking, might have known, or known of this place. She once had many questions after the shock of her arrival had slipped away, but only a few had been directed towards the planet, and none towards its history. The word 'Voss' held no meaning for her before. She had never even heard it.

"Yes," she said, warmth in her voice and a smile on her lips, "we shall."

So they walked, for the most part in comfortable silence, until she just had to ask.

"This place, this world, has the look and feel of a long past," she looked out the corner of her eye at Coci, "is there anything you can tell me of it, Master?"

There might be troves of information about it on record, but hearing a story told was much more pleasant, and a basis for conversation.

For the most part of their journey into the more unknown area of Voss, it was clear with unique trees dotted across the landscape. Unusual vegetation grew at the base of the trees in contrast to the natural green of any forest. The grasses were high around the ankles as they walked and a soft breeze played among the blades where small insects disturbed from them buzzed this way and that. "Voss is old indeed, an ancient land on which much has happened and no doubt will long after we are gone. The original inhabitants, the Voss and the Gormak, I believe had a very tense relationship and even more so, when the Sith arrived here. Gormak being the more aggressive, embraced the darkside but not the Voss. When the Jedi arrived here, and I don't mean the Silver Jedi, but long ago, the Voss embrace this being a more gentle race of people. However, so too did some of the Gormak not happy with the Sith occupation .. there was a resistance movement, I am to believe and throw in on top of all this .. are the Voss Mystics".

"There are many places on Voss that are still undiscovered or investigated and many places of interest which would show you the past if you dare to look for them", Coci was thinking of the old path on which that alone, was a trail of tests and wonderment. It was a glorious day, the warmth of the sun finding place through the tree tops and pickled on her face, there was a scent in the air that spoke of spring and soft drifting aromas filtering through on the breeze, and it got stronger as they walked.

In the distance there is a large clearing and in this clearing there are stones of odd sizes forming a circle, some of which has been eroded with time and elements of nature but the design in which they sat suggested a placement of purpose. "I think we have arrived".
