Public The streets of Theed (THR)

Location: Theed

The noise was near deafening. Smells and sights overwhelming the senses. The crowds moved like a river with no real direction, threatening to swallow anyone who stood still for too long. Large metal beasts lumbered along predetermined paths with a vague sense of order. All in all, it was chaotic.

Milla was slightly on edge at the overwhelming amounts of civilization laid out before her. She had spent so much time living in the rainforest of her untouched home planet that she had almost forgotten what civilization felt like. Then again, it felt more like orderly chaos than anything. Making less sense then the laws of the wild.

Sinking slightly into the force, she began to navigate her way through the crowded streets. Barefeet meeting the cool deracrete of the city pathways. The crowd didn't really seem the notice the cloaked girl as she passed by, as if something in the force nudged them to forget the sharp blue eyes that watched keenly from beneath the cloaks hood. The gazes were brief before Milla vanished like a ghost into the crowd.

She had spent quite a few years living on her home planet. Isolated away from the galaxy at large. Her adventures spirit had gotten the better of her to set out once more. What better way to rediscover the galaxy then by visiting one of the newest powers in the galaxy. That and see how the Jedi here functioned. Where they similar to the Silver Jedi she had left so many years before?

Those were questions for later, however. Right now she just needed to readjust to this much...everything. Then she would be full and ready to meet the galaxy again. Maybe cause a few problems and mischief along the way.

A soft murmur echoed on the steps of the Theed Royal Academy as the Bothan, known locally as Jorgus, made his way down the stairs.

He had planned to engage in a brief conversation with the Headmaster, but the situation had taken an intriguing turn when the man presented him with a datapad and coordinates leading to a location deep within the old quarter of Naboo, a place inhabited by spice peddlers and junk droid traders, including Offworld Jawas.

This was a rough neighborhood that had escaped the attention of the Royal Naboo Security Forces and the army of the High Republic.

Speaking of those soldiers, there had been whispers circulating in the Black Market that the Underlord had become quite displeased with the Republic's interference and was in the process of assembling a Shadow Army to deliver a more forceful reminder that the Underworld was not tolerant of troublemakers.

It suited his small little outfit within the Nal Raka Criminal Empire for he had been hired to smuggle arms captured from the Trade Federation into the Republic's capital in order to cause a bit of unrest and distract the Assembly from looking to deeply into events happening elsewhere.

"There you are, Todo," Jorgus remarked, lightly stroking his beard, as a Toydarian approached him with flapping wings.

"Greetings, boss. The warehouse has been fully readied for your arrival; we have made certain that no citizens are present in the vicinity." Todo chuckled heartily, being a seasoned assassin and an exile from Toydaria due to his involvement in smuggling thermal detonators.

The J-1 Shuttle piloted by Kas and Kharis while their younger brother Caden checked resources and supplies within the Cargo Hold. The trio were trained pilots and the twins; Kas and Kharis joined the Jedi Starfighter Corp academy to become Jedi Aces. Kas went off to get more familiar with the city of Theed on the planet Naboo where it serves as the capital of the High Republic.

Once their shuttle landed back down in the Spaceport nearby the trio got out of there and headed into Theed to get more settled in being here as members of the Jedi Order or known by majority here the Shiraya Sanctuary. The engines powered down where a low humming sounded off. A few maintenance droids gathered to restock fuel and supplies spent in their last voyage.

"Not a bad trip huh. Might as well get more familiar with Naboo and Theed. Since we're apart of the Jedi Order based here." Kas said while speaking to Caden and Kharis.

He was walking through the busy streets of Theed this definitely was different from familiar grounds back home. The trio came from Corellia, grew up there but were born on Panatha besides Caden he was born on Corellia. Kas felt something flickering in the Force while he went through the streets being in the middle of the civilian crowds. A strong presence emitting Light-side energy, another Jedi was passing through here maybe? It wasn't a presence he'd recognise so he followed the trail.

Disembarked from their J-1 Shuttle after landing it back down into the Spaceport again. Kas and Kharis done this many times it was becoming second nature. Gathered what belongings she would bring with her as Kas led the way out and headed for the city of Theed. The streets were filled with the civilians of Naboo and even a few off-worlders that came here to visit the planet and city.

Kharis does enjoy exploring new places and since she hadn't gotten a proper opportunity to spend more time here besides going to the Jedi Enclave known as Shiraya's Sanctuary to continue her Jedi training with Caden and Kas. It'd be fun to explore and have a little time away to spend with her brothers as a family to see the beauty of Theed as a city and Naboo as a planet they're protecting.

"Sounds good with me, Kas. A little bit of family time for us to enjoy ahaha. Be good to settle in more on Naboo and Theed."
Kharis mentioned as she was in agreement to relax and wind down for once.

She followed alongside Kas as they left the Spaceport together to explore the streets of Theed. Smiling and waving to some civilians they passed by in their wandering. Kharis noticed Kas' body language and manner had changed then she realized why. In her extended senses through the Force there was a strong presence drawing her in. It was pulsing Light-side energy whenever she put more focus onto the aura she was able with Kas. Was it another Jedi? A Knight? A Master? Time to find out and meet them.

Caden done and finished his checks about the supplies in the Cargo Hold of the J-1 Shuttle had his Datapad in hand and ready to report to maintenance droids. Kas and Kharis departed from the shuttle heading off to the city of Theed. He hurried along send his supply report to the maintenance droids before re-joining his older twin siblings. Happy to be back on Naboo where it was quiet.

Since becoming a Jedi it opened up Caden's interests and skills in becoming somewhat experienced as a Medic, studying Healing and not shying away from combat scenarios. Uses the Force to defend, heal and protect others around him that was the way of a Jedi Consular to what Caden had understood so far from his Jedi training. Now he can relax and be with Kas, Kharis as a family.

"Not a bad idea guys ahaha. It's been a while since we just spent time together without Jedi duties overtaking our time. Theed is a beautiful city could find some nifty treasures in the market." Caden chimed in when the trio spoke socially to one another.

A sudden feeling swept through Caden's senses within the Force and he couldn't quite pinpoint it just yet. Like a trail was left behind where the Force energy being aligned to the Light-side of the Force. He was curious this presence that Caden was able to detect wasn't one he knew of. Must be a completely new Jedi or something. It wouldn't hurt to find out its source since Kas and Kharis were already proceeding ahead to seek out the individual.

A resolute street rat from the depths of Denon's Suicide Slums, Kyric was not unfamiliar to the tell-tale signs of the Underworld. It festered in untraveled sectors of the oft-noble city. Even Theed, the very heart of the High Republic, could not escape the interests of criminal enterprise. Where credits flowed, so too did the opportunists follow.

The Jedi Knight moved through quiet streets. Shuttered businesses and shaded alleys lined each side of the road, cracked and overgrown with weeds. Not a soul walked the roads alongside him. It felt like the corpse of a city, devoid of the culture and people that made Theed beautiful. Tiny marks etched into duracrete walls signaled a location of some kind deeper into the neighborhood.

Kyric followed them quietly and considered his old jacket, worn down over his time on Concord Dawn in his youth. It was the best he could manage for a Damien Dooku Damien Dooku impression. The scoundrel types liked their trusty jackets and low hanging utility belts, after all. He wore a blaster pistol holstered on each side, with all manner of pouches between them. An ornate leather patch covered the right-side of his face in an effort to mask his most distinguishable trait.

Was it a good enough disguise for Kyric to sell the borrowed alias of Vyr Sirak? The kiffar didn't know, but he couldn't possibly pass up a shot at infiltrating the Nal Raka Criminal Empire.

He trailed into the warehouse with one had tucked into his jacket pocket, where he clutched an inactive locator beacon keyed to Jedi frequencies used within the Order. At the flick of a thumb Kyric could activate the device, alerting others of his position. It was a life-line, really. What the Sentinel wanted was to walk in and out with crucial intelligence.

Aristodemus du Couteau, The Young Heir
Location: Naboo, Theed City
Attire

JiGZUcY.png

Magic, to Aristodemus, was supposed to be slightly unexplainable—but more importantly, it was meant to inspire a sense of wonder. Certainly, the Force allowed a level of trickery that perhaps some magicians of old would find rather uncouth. The young heir, for his part, felt that it enhanced the experience—and in some cases, his magic required even stricter control and discipline.

After all, I can't have people accuse me of being a Jedi or something.

A small crowd of adults and children watched Aristodemus perform a rather simple coin trick. A coin in each hand rolled through his fingers before slipping into his palms. Then, with a quick flick of his wrists and a flourish of open hands, the two coins disappeared from view.

Arist smiled softly as he gestured for one of the adults to lean over and allowed him to search behind the man's ear. Instead of producing a coin, Arist instead held out a soft blue foam ball. He feigned confusion, scratched his own ear, and suddenly both coins reappeared with a quick laugh.

On the small table in front of Arist sat a cup, which he showcased to be perfectly empty. He dropped both coins inside and stretched out his hands and arms around his back. This was going to be a rather lengthy final act, but Arist kept an impish smile of joy. But all the more he wanted to show-off a bit and feel a bit magical.

"So, let's see how many coins I can produce out of this cup. Was it two I dropped?" Arist asked with feigned ignorance as he dropped his right hand inside to grab a coin.

Instead, he produced a blue foam ball again. He looked confused, sent his hand back into the cup, and again pulled out another blue foam ball. Arist performed the same trick again, and again, and again, tossing some of the foam balls to the kids so they could hold and play with them—proving they were indeed real.

"Huh, that's weird." Arist kept pulling out more blue foam balls from the cup, pretending to look concerned at the strange development—what appeared to be an infinite number of foam balls. "Where are those coins...? I know they're here somewhere. . ."

He noticed that even the adults looked intrigued, the gears turning in their heads as they tried to figure out how Arist was doing this little trick.

"W-wait... here it is...?" Arist looked confused as he pulled out a hardened ball of some sort. His eyes grew wide in shock. "Oh no."

And the ball exploded in a large puff of smoke.

The small crowd gasped in alarm, but as the smoke cleared, only the table and the cup remained—along with the large number of foam balls. Arist, for his part, had made his escape. He had chosen that particular location very carefully, after all. There was a perfect back alley that provided him enough cover to slink into while the smokescreen served as a near-flawless distraction. He laughed as he jogged slowly down the alley and turned the corner.

"Wait. . . Ugh." Arist stopped and patted himself down as his face gave a rather disgusted expression. He silently cursed as he realized that the tip jar was also one of the things he had left behind. There went his plan to pay for his next set of tricks and magic tools. Or maybe there some abandon building where he could scope out something worthwhile.

To say that this part of the city had seen better days was an understatement. The streets were near abandoned, other then the occasional shady figure here and there. Windows were boarded up and the streets littered with trash and debris. A far cry from the bustling main streets she had just escaped.

She kept her hood low as she treaded carefully. Hand never far from her lightsabers. While the quiet was welcoming, it also brought an unease. She paused for a moment and reached out with the force. The response was quicker than she expected several other strong force signatures caught her attention. Scattered enough to be separate groups, but strong enough to be easily noticeable.

Drawing the force in, she made her presence as small as possible. She wasn't sure if these were Jedi or not. At least on this side of the city. Her attention turned towards the nearest one. Mixed emotions had flooded from them, anxiety, joy then frustration. With one quick leap, she made it onto one of the lower roofs of a building. She was Kiir and they traveled best through forest canopies. Around here, roofs were the next best thing.

After several minutes of travel, she came to a stop and peered over the roof top. Below her was a boy who was, oddly enough, shorter than her. He had white hair and blue eyes. What stood out to Milla the most was his force presence. She watched him cautiously for a moment. Then she dropped down, landing silently a short distance away.

Standing up straight, she eyed Aristodemus Aristodemus , scanning him over more thoroughly. She then came to a quick conclusion. "You're definitely not from around here, are you?"

Jorgus adjusted the collar of his fitted tunic as they navigated through alley after alley. He had a strong aversion to this part of Theed, not due to the hagglers and murders lurking on the street corners, but because the peculiar odors always seemed to cling to his fur, though that was the least of his worries when it came to the Black Sun Syndicate.

"You're absolutely radiating with excitement, boss!" Todo exclaimed, gripping a lucky coin in his hand, his delicate wings flapping rhythmically to keep him hovering just above the grimy streets. He had a tendency to express himself with grand gestures and loud declarations, a quirk that sometimes tested Jorgus's patience but was surprisingly effective at diverting attention from the more discreet Bothan.

"Just make sure the area stays clear, Todo. We can't afford any unfortunate 'accidents' before the merchandise is moved." He stressed the word accidents with a sharper tone than normal, a clear warning to his unpredictable companion. Directly ahead, nestled between a sputtering junk droid repair shop and a permanently shuttered spice den, stood the warehouse.

The Bothan gently pushed open the durasteel loading bay door, which creaked as it moved, accompanied by the sound of blasters being cocked. However, this was not directed at Kyric Kyric , who had successfully blended in, as the Nal Raka were none to concerned with checking identification.

At least until a buff Nikto emerged from around a corner, bellowing. "You don't look familiar." He said with a growl.

Arist scanned the alleyway ahead and considered the best way to approach his next destination. While never opposed to relying on his own two feet, there was something to be said for the convenience of repulsor vehicles. They made traversal easier, and depending on the model, they could be as simple as a bike granting him near total freedom of movement, albeit with a limited time allotment.

But I have to find a rental business, and I think the closest—

"You're definitely not from around here, are you?"

The voice caught Arist off guard. He slowly turned toward the source and, after a very pregnant pause, let out a small yelp. "Heh?!"

He jumped back, both hands diving behind him as he fumbled for a smoke pellet he'd used earlier during a disappearing act. He liked to think he had eyes in the back of his head that nothing could sneak up on him. Well, almost nothing, it seemed. Pride comes before the fall, I guess. He steadied himself before he actually slipped.

"I have travel documentation and a performance license!" Arist sputtered out a half-truth, his voice outrunning his brain before it could form a coherent response.

His face twisted with one eye narrowing and the other widened in surprise; a rather ungraceful and uneven appearance. Arist quicky took note of her blue eyes, and he guessed they were roughly the same age but that's where the similarities ended. I mean, she actually sounds kinda nice... and non-threatening so. . .. Arist of course thought generally almost everyone on Naboo were good natured people.

He relaxed slightly, slipping the smoke pellet back into his pocket and letting his arms fall to his sides.

"You guessed correctly. Good eye! Ah. . .apologies for my earlier outburst..." Arist offered with a short, awkward laugh as his cheeks warmed with embarrassment. He raised a hand to cover his mouth, clearing his throat to hide the growing crimson on his face that threatened to melt his snowy hair.

"Yes, well, hello. My name is Arist."

With his confidence regained, he softened his expression into a gentle smile, eyes wide with curiosity.

"Are you looking for something or someone?"
Be polite. Smiles keep things friendly, remember your manners!

Milla's right foot slid back a little as Aristodemus Aristodemus reached behind his back. She didn't sense any hostility, but better safe than sorry.

What she didn't expect was the first thing he said to her. Documentation and a license? Why exactly would he need that and why bring it up and why did he think she wanted to see it.

Plus side she was right about him not being from around. Besides the fact he smelled much cleaner than the people she had seen so far. He sharp blue eyes scanned him for a moment as he introduced himself. Pulling her hood back, she gave him a small nod. "I'm Milla. No, I'm not looking for anyone or thing in particular. Just escaping the crowded streets for a moment. You?"

"I'm Milla. No, I'm not looking for anyone or thing in particular. Just escaping the crowded streets for a moment. You?"

Courteous with a quick answer! His eyes widened slightly as she removed her hood, revealing a pair of horns that crowned her head. Don’t stare, Arist!

“Milla.” With a respectful, instinctive bow, Arist allowed himself a happy smile as his shoulders relaxed. A noble's training had finally come in handy for Arist, muscle memory was certainly much appreciated.

While he too had just escaped a small crowd, a question formed in his mind about her reason for leaving the bustling streets of Theed. He couldn’t recall if she had been in the group that had watched him perform a few magic tricks. Maybe she just likes to keep to herself, and I accidentally stumbled into her hideaway spot.

“I’m passing through. I like to explore cities I’m visiting, and I figured there might be some interesting buildings to sneak around in for a bit,” Aristodemus explained as truthfully as possible.

“Oh,” Arist began, gesturing around him with his hands, “did you sneak up behind me, or did I walk past you by chance? I'm just curious is all.” He figured it was best to figure that out so he could work on his awareness during training later.

I mean, what if I had walked into a guard by accident? The young du Couteau heir was determined to avoid that sort of embarrassment.

Milla could tell one thing right away about Aristodemus Aristodemus . He was noble born. Proper manners, clear and concise speech amongst other small details. What exactly he was doing out here was a bit of a mystery.

A mystery that deepened as he claimed he liked to explore the cities he visited. While not the unusual part, as nearly everyone visiting a new city will do some exploring, it was the looking for interesting buildings to sneak around. One didn't simply sneak into buildings unless they where up to mischief. The young Kiir raised an eyebrow slightly. "That's an unusual way of spending a visit. Although, every building here is interesting to me. Since I'm not from around here."

She shook her head at his next question. "Nope. I was above you." The teen pointed upward at the roof. She took a few steps forward, bare feet making no sound with each step. "Traveling that way can be easier sometimes."
