The Stormy Present (First Order Leadership)

skin, bone, and arrogance
The conference room aboard the First Order's acting command ship was immaculate, as was expected for a ship of the First Order's line. Natasi Fortan circled the conference table, leaning over and carefully placing a dossier in front of each chair that would be occupied at the meeting. The First Order was facing a difficult conversation about how to proceed following the events at Eriadu, and where to establish their base of operations from which to extend their grasp.

A shiny, black-plated protocol droid stood in the corner, fussing with the audio-visual display controls. "Eighty-eight, can you confirm everyone has received the meeting notification?" Natasi asked after she finished placing the last dossier on the table, at the head of the table, in front of the seat reserved for [member="Aram Kalast"]. Natasi would sit at his right hand, and at his left hand was the place card Minister of Intelligence [member="Inkara Liet"]. Next to the Minister would be General [member="Ludolf Vaas"], and next to Natasi, [member="Tmoxin Temi"].

N-8E8 canted his head to the side and fixed his photoreceptors on Natasi. "Of course, Governor," he replied in his maddening deadpan.

"I don't think you can call me that if the planet I was the unofficial governor of is no longer under our control," Natasi responded dryly. The droid began to respond that his databanks had not been updated to reflect a change in Natasi's status, but she cut him off. "Nevermind. Just stand by while I arrange water, food, and coffee." The meeting would begin soon, and everything had to be perfect.

((OOC: Please let me know if I've forgotten to include someone and I can tag them in!))

After docking The Sovereign Stingray into the hangar of the First Order's command ship, Tmoxin walked down the entrance ramp and made her way to the rendezvous point. Today she was not accompanied by Lt. Carten Flaa, although he was witness to a recent raid on Hypori, the truth of which they were still trying to sort through. She came alone with her Mirari Bodyguard droids who she ordered to wait outside of the conference room.

Tmoxin entered the meeting space to find Natasi Fortan already inside. She knew a little bit of the former Govenor's story from the Supreme Commander and Commodore Vaiden. "We haven't formally met, Ms. Fortan. I'm Tmoxin Temi." Brown eyes surveyed the table, until she noticed her assigned seat. The Hapan executive didn't make a move towards the refreshments, she only appraised Natasi with a critical eye as though assessing a painting for its value. While the woman arranged the room with the precision of a dutiful administrative assistant, Tmoxin had a feeling her role was much more important than Imperial coffee lackey.

"Ms Fortan, what is your operational role within the First Order? You'll have to enlighten me as I'm afraid I only had the pleasure of receiving the Supreme Commander and General Vaas on their visit to Lok recently."

The Hapan executive no longer had a military title, but she was there for a vital reason, or one which she perceived to be: executive sponsor to provide material and financial support where needed. She was here representing herself only. While the Techno Union could provide starships, droids, and weapons, she needed to be careful not to embroil the Executive Council of the Techno Union in what she was doing.

General Ludolf Vaas was the third to enter the conference room. It was a room he had frequented many times before and so the surroundings were not unfamiliar to him, only now he carried the bitter taste of the loss of Eriadu in his mouth.

The First Order's forces had outfitted themselves well, but the Galactic Alliance had been superior in manpower. Their small operation had no choice but to retreat. As Ludolf circled the conference table, the droid made a gesture towards the refreshments.

"Just a coffee, please," He commanded the droid, and then, turning to [member="Tmoxin Temi"] and [member="Natasi Fortan"], he nodded. "Good morning."

Supreme Commander [member="Aram Kalast"] had yet to arrive, and Natasi and Tmoxin were catching up in what seemed to be their first time crossing paths. While they did so, Ludolf began to focus on the task at hand. The First Order was rootless now, an organization of individuals and a powerful idea - but a powerful idea without a homeland. It was a matter he had lost no small amount of sleep over since the events of Eriadu. The General appeared all the more stony and grizzled due to this, his face betraying no hint of anything close to a smile as he sat in his seat.

"It's a privilege, Ms. Temi," Natasi said pleasantly, looking up from her task as she was adjusting the Supreme Commander's dossier one last time. [member="Tmoxin Temi"] was something of an enigma to Natasi -- more from Natasi's being out of touch thanks to her family's being under investigation by the Knights of Ren than anything. Now that she had been cleared, she was eager to get back into the swing of things. "I'm afraid my operational role within the First Order is undefined at this moment," Natasi admitted, making the last minuscule adjustment to the Supreme Commander's dossier. "Before the incident at Eriadu, I served as a sort of unofficial liaison to the government there. My appointment is no longer active, for obvious reasons," Natasi said with an apologetic smile.

She straightened and smoothed her skirt before gesturing to the refreshments. "Can K-8E8 offer you something, Ms. Temi? Coffee, tea, water?" Natasi went to her seat and sat down briefly, only until [member="Ludolf Vaas"] entered, at which point she stood again, nodding respectfully to him. "Good morning," she said primly. "You look well," she observed as K-8E8 moved into action to fulfill orders. Natasi resumed her seat and ran a finger along the edge of her dossier anxiously.

(OOC: Sorry didn't get the tag for some reason)

Natasi Fortan was equally an enigma to the Hapan executive. And the reasons that Ms. Fortan wasn't an advisor to the Eradui government any longer were not obvious to Tmoxin. But she could only glean there was a scandal of some sort. Probably the woman had reached too far and too high, had angered the wrong official or diplomat, and was now paying the price of exile or other. Typical of non-Hapan cultures to punish a woman for being ambitious, she inwardly sneered.

She momentarily glanced at the droid and replied, "I'm fine with water." Tmoxin looked like the type of woman who could eschew food and drink for a long period of time if only to keep up the facade of an individual in complete control of her needs.

General Vaas entered appearing quite sleep deprived and worse for wear. The Hapan executive nodded to him in greeting. Perhaps he had just returned from a firefight, she thought with a sudden spike of envy. The more that Tmoxin was drawn into the plans of the First Order, the more she felt a building desire to reclaim her officer role in whatever capacity she was needed. But the Dark Jedi was careful to put the collective's needs above her own. She knew she was welcome and in time, she may join them on the battlefield again. Material assets donated, credits piled into shadow accounts - these could be just as damaging to their enemies as blaster bolts in the long run.

Aram had taken his time arriving at the meeting. Why?
It was a matter of logistics, boring numbers and situations around the scattered forces of the First Order that went better unmentioned, but in due time he had indeed arrived and with a courteous nod sat himself down at the meeting table before releasing an audible huff of reassurance. It was all because he could sit down finally, sit down and not have to listen to some droid continually blabber on about this ship and that ship.
Or at least he hoped.

“Welcome all.” He said with a slight smile looking around the room, there was one missing, their Intelligence Chief. Chances were she was watching just not from within the room, so it was a good idea to probably start anyway. “So we have departed Eriadu earlier then we expected.”

“Yes you did.” The voice was the announcement before the holographic hooded form erupted within the middle of the table.

Supreme Leader Sieger Ren. Aram bowed his head instantly, their glorious dictator was already angered by the loss of Eriadu, best not give him excuses to hate them any more today.

“Yes we did.” He had to agree. It was all he could do.

“Which leaves us exposed and vulnerable.” The words of the Supreme Leader spat out at the group within the room. “Yet also allows us an advantage.”
