The Start if Something New (Silver Jedi and friends of them)

The girl gave a shiver as the cool breeze whispered against her clothing. She was wearing new clothing that the Jedi gave her. The first possession she actually owned.

There was a brief shiver of excitement going down her back as the thought dwelled in her, but only briefly. A voice in her mind quickly reminded her that this could be a dream, or a trick....

The girl shook her head and walked down the hall. Somehow finding the cafeteria. She stood in the large doorway, the tantalizing smell of food making her stomach growl.

Did she have permission to eat?

Leina was on a mission as she was eating over with all fo the things. She had gotten a good amount of food and was enjoying herself here in some of the mess hall for food. She wanted to work wit it before the other padawans she was looking at here eating. "Now come on eat up all of you, we have plenty of food and there are always some very nice things around the temple for you to see." She offered a smile as her lekku twitched going around she could see some one else. "Hey you, yeah you come here. We have plenty of space are you hungry?" She was curious while moving around with her thoughts going to some fo the equipment they had to work with.

The girl slowly walked in, hardly believing what she heard. "Am I permitted to eat , Miss?"
She eyed the food around her, feeling weak.

Sorel ate for one reason and one reason only – for fuel. She typically ate ration packs on her ship, but had recently been introduced to the delights of fresh food and so, whenever at an Academy, she made sure she visited the restaurant. Three hot meals a day beat relatively tasteless homogenised bricks of food that provided nutrients – but limited texture.

It was not that she was becoming addicted to real nutriment, there was still no real pleasure from eating fancy food, but there was a preference – and if she was honest, the preference was slowly but surely growing.

So she headed for the cafeteria and found a young Jedi waiting at the doorway. Sorel wandered in, offering a customary bow before walking past the young girl. She presumed she was waiting for someone and judging by the growls coming from the girl’s stomach, the other person was overdue.

Leina looked at her with a raised hairless brow for a moment as her lekku twitched and a whisper. "I don't know.... wait do I need permission to eat?" She was looking around and the other jedi looked at her. "Hello Leina.... of course I do and so do you... unless you can't eat some foods cause it will make you sick... then i recommend you don't eat them.... unless your goal is to get sick so you can avoid a math test.... then i guess it would be important for you to eat them but then i would have to use my jedi powers to help heal you so that you won't get sick and miss your math test by eating food that can make you sick and oh look I've gone cross eyed." Leina was looking around and her head was spinning as she saw Sorel join them and spoke with a grin on her face. "Hello."

The girl blinked before answering. "I was only ever allowed scraps from the Master's table, if I ate at all. Or I ate dry bread." She was honestly confused by the Jedi's statement.

"What do you recommend I eat, Mistress?" The phrase and the bow flowed through her naturally.

Sorel focused on the young girl. She was painfully thin and she soon realised she wasn’t just new to the Academy, she was new to this way of living. It was hard enough to come to terms with the Force and the lifestyle required of a Jedi from a relatively normal background – let alone from an impoverished one. Or worse – a life of slavery.

She nodded a ‘hello’ to Leina and then refocused on the young girl. But not wishing to overwhelm her, she allowed Leina to reply.

Hmm so she didn't get to eat a lot. "Well the soup that we have is really good, there is also ice cream that is made and canned so masters can reward their padawans should they wish to with something sweet. The standard food cubes I suppose or the new ultra special food bars that become full meals for a person or group when you just add water those are nice. The jakobeast bacon that you can get because everyone loves bacon and there is a couple things of candy or chips. Since the tech division has been taking over more things they have been developing a lot more of our food that jedi can eat that isn't just ration and processed food. Promoting healthy living at a lower cost and we make it ourselves."

The girl slowly grabbed some food, but not a lot. She was still afraid she was going to get yelled at. The girl sat at an empty table, slowly eating, but guarding her food from any whom might steal it on her.
