The Stargazer (Nightclub/ Bar RP)

Down, way down in the depths and lower levels of Coruscant, lies a bar. Just a hole in the wall establishment, lying on the corner of one of the seediest parts of the entire planet. The bar was slowly gaining a notoriety, having a bar brawl that left the bartender and once-owner dead, and having both an investigator and a vigilante around the area gave the joint a bit of renown. Slowly, it started gaining more patrons from the usual scum, not much, but it became a little bit more than just a seedy, crime-infested watering hole where bums came to drown their sorrows.

As more people came in, the son of the now-deceased bartender took over the family business, and was now hiring for extra employees. Who knows what the future held for the bar, maybe it would become an actually decent and respectable establishment, or it just fall back into the depths of crime and scum, who knows. The only certain fact is that people would gaze up, and look at the sky.

The Stargazer

The Stargazer. It was by no means an extraordinary joint, some may even call it a typical lower city cantina. It had cheap drinks, colorful regulars, even a gaudy neon sign advertising itself to passerby. The only thing noteworthy about it was that it had recently come under new management. There had a grisly bar brawl not too long ago, leaving the previous owner dead. His son took over, his new position getting a boost of patrons due to the recent violence, some notoriety attaching itself to the establishment.

Kohai Drenn didn't drink. Not only that, but she couldn't even list off enough varieties of spirits to count on two hands. It would beg the question what the young woman was doing in a cantina so deep into Coruscant.

Her reasoning was twofold. To start with, The Stargazer was not too far from where she grew up, so she actually was acquainted with the former owner. It was he who gave Kohai her first drink, the strongest in the house, after which he was assured she would never drink here again. Now that he was dead, she figured she may as well pay her respects to her former neighbor, maybe check in on his son.

Her other reason for wanting an uncharacteristic drink was due to the date. It had been three years exactly, since she was forced to sell her family business to a competitor, forcing her to professionally bother people at spaceports, shuttle ports and any other gathering point, just to find paying work. As far as she was concerned, it was another good reason to pay respects, and a blackout-hangover combo seemed a relatively small price for it.

Listeri slowly slumped through the swinging doors of the bar, as his eyes speedily turned to where the bar was. Half-expecting to see his old friend, Jorghi, the Bith bartender, he knew that he was dead, and saw his slightly taller son, Larkij, there instead. His pupils, now moving more slowly, looked over the bar. To Listeri's surprise, he saw one of the regulars, [member="Kohai Drenn"], there at one of booths. Despite never talking to the lady, Listeri saw her here a couple of times before. He moved over to the bar, as Larkij glanced at him. He had been around the bar long enough to know what the smugglers usual was, so without a word, he quickly whipped out a Corellian whiskey, to which Listeri nodded in thanks.

Kohai rose from her seat. She should have known better, service to a corner booth was slow enough. Service to a corner booth occupying only one customer who isn't an alcoholic, no chance at all. She made her way towards the bar, finding a stool as close as she could to the bartender.

"Hey, Larkij..." She laid her hand his as he dutifully washed a glass, kepping himself busy between refills. "I hear, ya know... what happened... How ya holding up?"

The Bith bartender turned around, a harsh look in his eye, but it quickly softened, as he realized he was talking to a regular, or "reggie" as a lot of the patrons, new and old, called them. " Oh, uh...It's been hard, but I'm holdin' up okay. Don' like to tal' about it much. " Larkij sadly responded. He had mostly gotten rid of his father's cockney accent, but bits and pieces sounded like the old man. Listeri gazed at the two conversing, as he took a large swig from the whiskey. It was one of the harder drinks on the menu, but nothing was worse then the Byss Bypass, A.K.A, the hardest wodka on the market.

Kohai nodded quickly, "Oh, of course... Sorry, stupid me..."

She quickly busied herself looking over a holographic menu. When nothing seemed familiar, she tilted her head, hoping the new perspective would help her choose. After a few ponderous seconds, she sighed, looking back towards the bartender.

"This may sound strange, but I wanna get drunk tonight. Does the house have a recommendation?"
[member="Listeri Dalane"]

Larkij nodded, as he began cleaning some glasses. Listeri, however, leaned over and gave the girl his recommendations and opinions. "Hmm. Aint that strange, but if your looking for the harder drinks, have a Corellian Whiskey, or if you want to have the worst hangover in galactic history, drink the Byss Bypass. Or just drink a ton of Coruscanti beers if your looking for one that's lighter." He said. Knowing how many times he came here, he practically had the menu memorized on the back of his hand.

[member="Kohai Drenn"]

After a moment of indecision, she came to a conclusion. "Larkij! I'll have a Corellian whiskey!"

Realizing her volume, she quieted herself. Ignore the odd stares she had received from disturbed patrons, she looked over at [member="Listeri Dalane"] , "Thanks for the tip!" She gave him a thumbs up, the previous melancholy pushed aside.

Listeri nodded, as he continued sipping away at his own whiskey. Larkji pulled out one of the now-cleaned glasses, and began pouring the whiskey into the clear mug. "Rippin' off the ol' smug, eh'?" He asked, using the nickname for smugglers around there. As the brown liquid filled up the mug, he slid it over to her, as he began wiping the counter.

Kohai didn't allow herself a moment to second guess. She picked up her glass, knocking it back all at once. She chose... poorly.

Her face contorted into one of disgust, sticking out her tongue briefly to air it out. "Oh my..."

Larkij and Listeri began hysterically laughing, Listeri nearly falling off his bar stool. He calmed down, while Larkij chuckled for a minute or two. He turned to [member="Kohai Drenn"], and still laughing, gave her a Coruscanti beer instead of the whiskey. " Don't like it, eh? " Listeri asked with a smirk, as he took a long swig from his Corellian Whiskey, and slammed it down onto the bar counter.

Kohai blinked her eyes a few times, preventing them from tearing up. "How can people drink that recreationally?!" She swallowed a few times, the taste wasn't fading, not even a little! "My god..." She glanced over at the new drink, suspiciously.

Larkij, now tearing up from hysterics, barely managed to calm himself down, as he tried to reassure her. " Trust me, it's a lighter drink, and if you have a bunch of these, you should have a nice, punchy, drunken feeling. "

Kohai gave each of the men a dirty look, before tentatively sipping her new drink. It certainly was better, but that wasn't saying very much.

"Thanks, this is a lot less hazardous." She took a fuller sip, each one washing away the abominable taste from before.

Listeri stared at [member="Kohai Drenn"] with a confused look on his face, as he chugged down the rest of the whiskey that disgusted her." This? " He said, swinging his mug up. " This?! This isn't kark! You want the strongest drink, go for the Byss Bypass, should get you drunk even if you take a tiny sip! Ya know what, Larkij, get me one! " Listeri told the bartender.

Kohai gave him a perplexed look, before shaking her head. She finished off her drink, "Can I get another? Gotta keep this guy from looking like her has a problem."

Regardless of her words, she was having a good time. Aside from the fried tastbuds and shriveled livers, Kohai could understand why people liked these places.

Larkij quickly poured the thick, grey liquid of the Byss Bypass, and slammed it down in front of Listeri. He drank it heartily, as his eyes widened, and became glazed with dumbness and confusion. Larkij smirked at the drunk smuggler, as he poured another beer, and slid down the sweet tasting beer towards [member="Kohai Drenn"] .

Kohai took another sip of her beer, it was starting to taste better. She looked over at [member="Listeri Dalane"] , about to ask something when she saw the state of him. He had this odd look in his eye, and there was a wobble in his position. "You okay, there?" She poked him lightly on the shoulder.

Listeri drunkedly turned to her, and raised his pointer finger, looking like he was about to say something. Instead, he collapsed face first on the bar counter, hitting with loud bang, rattling almost everybody's drinks on the bar. Larkij hastily put him upright, and began trying to make him wake up, waving a cloth in front of his nose. He slowly came to, and looked around with a glazed stare.

The Ubese stepped into the bar, he adjusted his helmet which had a voice-scrambler built in. He walked over to the counter and sat down. He purchased a potwa beer and removed his helmet and took a large sip. He did not even look at anybody in the bar and he had a enraged look on his face. He quickly chugged down the drink and sat at the stool.
