“Wooo-beeep.” [Translation: You really play fast and loose with that word. You keep saying it when you get to work out.]

Oh quiet.


Anyway, Captain Halpern, he wanted me to try and get everyone from Striker together because he had a surprise for us. I have to tell you, we need something good and fun, after all that happened over Atrisia, we need something to be excited about. Don’t get it twisted, regardless of what happened, I’m proud to be around these guys and girls, a bunch of crazy pilots. Drinks are on me if this is a cool new X-wing.


“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: Okay, one, you’re only 18, too young. Two, every time you make that claim, you lose..]

No… Anyway, the transport landed, and the ramp dropped when Halpern came walking out alone. I’ll admit… I was a little confused.

The fight at Atrisia had been a lot larger in some places and she had moved to join both as Strike and the Western Wolves along with even more had been recalled. The engagements win or loss had seen second flight joining with several of the wolves as the atrisian pilots were there with her. SMaller among the three giants of strike squadron second flight. THey were looking to replace their fallen member taken out in the first mission and now they would drink and play card... and possibly just find something to hit... maybe. FOrr now she waas there looking with the rest of them as they moved. The chance to regroup would be important no matter what before she allowed herself to smile a little with the other two.

Nash hung back, feeling somewhat shamefaced that he had missed out on the defense of Atrisia and others. It wasn't his fault, necessarily, nor his failing -- except, perhaps, his immune system's -- that he had come down with a nasty case of Dantari Flu and been stricken from the flight-eligible list. He had tried to sneak out of bed and been found by a medic on the floor, passed out, twenty minutes later. That had rather put an end to his bravery. Damn and blast, he had missed his opportunity to bash the fash, and that was bad enough, but now he had to face his squadmates as a potential coward.

He hated it.

Still feeling green around the gills, and with deep shadows around his eyes, he stood alone pretending to adjust his astromech droid's antennae and waited. What he was waiting for, even he couldn't say. Condemnation? Absolution? A good sandwich?

Striker Squad was assembled once again after the victorious defense of Atrisia. Supisy had to admit that she would have rather been at home getting things back in order. But when she spoke with Latty she found out that her household staff and her treasured belongings had not yet returned to Atrisia. There would be time for Supisy to see to her estate and her friends soon. For now she would meet with her new friends and be sure that they are well prepared to answer the next challenge the Galactic Empire put before them.

The invitation meant that Supisy was still expected to be part of the team. That was a good thing for the young Twi'lek. She enjoyed the other pilots and the camaraderie. Being a part of a team was something that made Supisy extra happy. She had her own team on Atrisia, and now she had a new team to belong to. It was still sorta new. They were all pilots so they could talk flying til the end of time.

As Supisy skipped into the Michael and Susanoo were already there. The others were likely coming, but that didn't matter in the moment. Supisy rushed up to Susanoo, the fellow Atrisian to celebrate the safety of their home. When she reached Susanoo, Supisy gave her as much of a hug as possible given their vast height difference. They didn't know each other well, and Supisy didn't know what the taller woman's reaction to the hug would be, but that never stopped Supisy from acting before. "So glad to see you again. And that our planet is now safe. Not sure what the meeting is really for, but should be a nice celebration." Releasing the hug, Supisy met eyes with her flight leader and gave a smile and a nod to Michael. Ready for whatever else was to come.

Tall, Statuesque and purple br… er Susanoo was first one here. No real surprise she was ho… professional. So were her other girls…

“Wooo-beeep.” [Translation: Dude, just drool on them and get it over with.]

Really?

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: YOU’RE the one making a spectacle.]

Well, he’s not really wrong. Anyway, my people started showing up. Dang, Nash looked like he needed a sandwich, I heard he was sick with the flu, but he looks like he still has it. I mean, I get it, you want to tough it out, but wow dude. He was pale as a ghost and looked like he could barely stand. I wanted to tell him to take it easy, but I knew he’d just brush it off. Still, it was clear he needed rest, not a mission briefing.

So I walked over his way and yelled out at one of the deck crew.

Could we get this man a Jawa Juice, or an energy drink or something? Hey bud, you doing okay?

It was rhetorical,

“Chrrp.” [Translation: That’s not what “rhetorical” means you idiot.]

Dude!

“Chrreeep.” [Translation: It doesn’t!]

The point is, I was concerned about him! Still am!

“Awwoooo” [Translation: Then just say that, there’s nothing wrong with that.]

“Awweep” [Translation: Who is 18 and trying to act like he’s an Air Marshall.]

I hate it when he’s right. Anyway, I waved over to Supisy, a little jealous she was get… stop… stop! STOOOOPPP!

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Did you just stop yourself? Wow, never thought I would see the day.]

Halpern is looking around. For who? Oh yeah, probably Kayla Luspark . I wonder where she is. Probably in a meeting or something. I mean, he could talk to us… Susanoo and me.

The surprise was there from the small Twi'lek but she was in a good mood as she cracked a smile and spoke. "Indeed, Atrisia has survived another attack." She said it with a grin that was there more as she saw Michael watching them... a lot... like she was certain he hadn't blinked his eyes since Supisy came in her tight clothing or her and the two other pilots had been standing there. "We'll celebrate when the announcement comes from the Emperor, he will want to thank all who fought there." She said it as she saw the older mechanic Kaela heading over to Michael with a bottle and she looked up at him. "Quit starring pup you are going to show everyone you don't know how to talk to women." Suysanoo though looked at Supisy "As to the meeting, we'll have to see."

ASSIGNMENT: Striker Initiative – Phase 2 Deployment

We are on the ground, and the cargo is being off loaded. Striker Squadron members are slowly starting to trickle in. No sense waiting for stragglers at this point. This is where I ordered the off-load of the primary cargo, which the first one was rolling off of the cargo ship. This new model X-wing did not have skids, but actual rolling landing gear. This will help on multiple fronts. The angular design, the retractable weapons pods, these will help them during multiple situations where they must shift on the fly.

Say “Hello” to the T-1650. This is a model designed and built strictly with each of you in mind, including a “two seater” which is about to roll off as well.

I said that glazing directly at the Twilek pilot Supisy.

Now, I know that there will be some who are thinking “The new smell” of our current fighters aren’t even worn off. Well, you are welcome to use those, but they were never going to stay “yours” these are.

Susanoo noted that she was not completely sure what the meeting was about. That made Supisy feel a bit anxious, which filled her with excitement. It wasn't like they were going to call them in here to disband the squadron. There had to be something that was being announced. Maybe the meeting was just a party to celebrate. That didn't seem like a very military thing, but certainly that was something that was on Supisy's mind.

Nash looked completely out of it. Whatever the meeting was, Supisy hoped that it would turn things around. Maybe a drink of whatever Kaela was carrying around would help whatever was ailing Nash. Before the Twi'lek pilot could suggest that however Captain Halpern entered. Supisy straightened up and looked at the man intently. If anyone knew what was going on it would be Halpern. But where were the others of the squadron?

Halpern introduced the squad's own version of the X-wing fighter. Supisy was excited to give it a look even before she got a personal look from the Captain concerning the tandem version of the fighter. Supisy's thoughts drifted to her WOS Aelara-9 wondering if she had gotten an invite to the meeting. Supisy would make a note to herself to track her down when she had time.

"So these are ours? Someone can tell Devin Virell know that I'm willing to pose for his new pinup. I posed with my smuggling partner and Princess Junko for a sculpture that is on display in the Princess' palace. So I have experience."

The news that Supisy had posed for the princess.. no with the princess was enlightening.. not in a bad way. She knew full well the quality of the sculptures that the princess made.. the western academy had one that they had won in the annual competition. "My my." She said it with a grin on her face. "She has made one or two for the academy we were in as well. Some of the teachers." She was saying it more matter of fact while walking and she looked at the fighters they were being presented with. They had an appeal and once she had managed to get used to the x-wing she waas able to make it worrk for herself and second flight. THey would be able to manage.
