The Sins of the Master (Romi Jade)

Mount Meru, Deneba.

It had been a long time since Veiere Arenais had walked the sands of Deneba, the great and barren Mountain that he had reluctantly made the decision to climb, fought against him with a gust that brought the dry world's loose strands of dust to sting at his eyes and whip up around the robes that he wore. The former Jedi Grand-master of the Enclave there at the Mountain's peak, no more than a rogue practitioner of the Force seeking to commune and repent for the sins that he had committed.

Deneba had been special to him once, even though his first visit saw conflict between the Jedi of the former Republic against the Mandalorian mercenaries aiding the One Sith; Veiere had brought a large congregation of Jedi here, restored the Enclave and made it their home for quite some time...-A home that he returned to under the influence and corruption of the Darkside of the Force, leading an attack and slaughtering those who did not flee or were fortunate enough to survive the battle that ensued...

The Dark Jedi Order he had created for his own ends, no longer existed and he had gone out of his way to ensure no evidence remained, that all of their assets Veiere had built up, had been turned over to the Jedi Academy Network and the Order of today, regardless of what group or branch one might hold themselves to, all Jedi would benefit, should they wish to make use of Rannon.

Calder Ice-Hammer, Teynara Jeralyr, Kahne Porte, Romi Jade...

Just a few names of the many that had put their faith and confidence in Veiere, for a time. When he had left them to give priority to Commenor and his Family, they had all remained behind to continue to follow the Jedi Path. A path that still came about in his mind, a regret for ever having straying from it back then. The House Arenais had become truly influential and Commenor itself had survived so much, yet no matter the amount of wealth and influence Veiere had accumulated, nothing really touched home like the life he had led for the first four decades before-hand.

Regrets that were too far gone, now. Veiere's hands were bloodied with the lives of other Jedi, regardless of whether or not that guilt kept him up in the nights and haunted his ever day, his conscience forever weighed upon his shoulders. The Order believed in redemption and forgiveness, yet Veiere's expectations of himself and his views upon where the line was drawn...-He was beyond ever holding a title within the Order. All he could do is seek to find peace within himself, within the Force...

And so it were the broken down and beaten remains of the Jedi Enclave there that Veiere had chosen to enter, in search of a place where he could enter into meditation and commune with the Force for guidance and counsel.
