A G-Type Main Sequence Star and the primary stellar body of the Shattered Crown System. According to local Mandalorian tradition, the star was named Tay'haai by early explorers who passed through the region long before permanent settlement. The immense debris field surrounding the star reminded them of a vast archive scattered across the void, with Tay'haai standing watch over it all like a keeper safeguarding forgotten knowledge.

Its golden light illuminates the countless fragments of the Shattered Crown, casting long reflections across exposed metallic cores and fractured planetary surfaces. Though otherwise unremarkable by astronomical standards, stellar winds and electromagnetic interactions originating from Tay'haai are believed to contribute to many of the unusual phenomena observed throughout the system, particularly within the Lightning Expanse.

To many who work within the Crown, Tay'haai is revered as much more than a star. It is regarded as the silent guardian of the system, watching over the shattered remains of a dead world and the new future being forged among them.

The remains of a partially formed terrestrial world believed to have been destroyed millions of years ago. The Shattered Crown is a debris field consisting of countless asteroids and several major planetary fragments spread throughout the inner system. Exposed mineral strata, shattered mantle layers, and metallic core fragments have revealed vast deposits of valuable resources that would normally remain buried beneath planetary crust.

Though long dismissed as little more than a navigational hazard, recent surveys have transformed the region into one of the most promising industrial frontiers in the Gordian Reach. Prospectors, survey crews, and industrial interests continue to push deeper into the debris field in search of new claims. Among those who work here, the shattered remains of the dead world are often simply referred to as "The Crown."

As the largest accessible planetary fragment within the system. Several hundred kilometers across, Crownstone possesses enough mass to host permanent settlements, industrial infrastructure, and large-scale extraction operations. Towering cliffs of fractured crust expose vast geological layers rich in quadranium, ultrachrome, and other industrial metals.

Currently it is the most stable and accessible fragment in the system, Crownstone has become the focal point of House Angelis activity within the Shattered Crown. Most permanent facilities, survey headquarters, and support operations ultimately trace their origins back to the fragment. Many believe it will eventually become the political and economic center of the entire system.

While larger planetary shards exist deeper within the debris field, most remain inaccessible due to unstable navigation conditions, electromagnetic disturbances, or incomplete survey data.

A recently constructed orbital station serving as the primary logistical and administrative hub for Adonis Angelis Industries operations throughout the system. Suspended above Crownstone, The Angelis Extraction Platform coordinates exploration efforts, prospecting expeditions, navigation traffic, cargo shipments, and limited ore processing operations.

Designed around the eight-point star heraldry of House Angelis, the station serves as both a symbol of Adonis's ambitions and the gateway to the system. Nearly every vessel entering the Shattered Crown eventually passes through its docks to file claims, receive updated navigation data, acquire supplies, or transfer cargo.

Though modest compared to the massive orbital facilities of the Core Worlds, the platform represents the first permanent House Angelis installation established within the system. As development continues, many expect it to become the beating heart of the Crown's growing economy.

A loosely organized collection of docking modules, repair facilities, fuel depots, habitation blocks, cargo platforms, and commercial structures built around a cluster of asteroids near the system's primary survey routes. Originally intended as a temporary support facility, Prospector's Ring has grown into an unofficial gathering place for prospectors, salvagers, survey teams, independent contractors, and fortune seekers drawn by rumors of the Crown's mineral wealth.

The Ring serves as a frontier boomtown in space. New modules are constantly added, businesses appear and disappear overnight, and rumors of newly discovered deposits often spread through its docking bays long before official reports reach House Angelis authorities. Cantinas, machine shops, refueling depots, and trading posts operate side-by-side among the crowded docks.

Though lacking the order and structure of Cin Vhetin, many prospectors consider the Ring the true social center of the system. For countless newcomers, it is their first glimpse of life within the Shattered Crown.

A fortified habitation and command outpost located on Crownstone. Established during the earliest stages of House Angelis exploration, Cin Vhetin began as a temporary Mandalorian barracks and survey headquarters intended to support prospecting operations throughout the Shattered Crown.

As traffic into the system increased, the outpost gradually evolved into the administrative heart of Crownstone. Survey teams register discoveries here, mining claims are recorded here, and House Angelis representatives oversee contracts, arbitration, and system security from within its walls.

Constructed directly into the fractured stone of Crownstone, the settlement combines rugged frontier practicality with Mandalorian defensive design. Reinforced bulkheads, hardened shelters, observation towers, protected landing facilities, and permanent security installations allow the outpost to withstand both the hazards of the debris field and potential pirate incursions.

Named after the Mandalorian concept of a fresh start or clean slate, Cin Vhetin stands as a symbol of the system itself. Though still little more than an outpost by galactic standards, many believe Cin Vhetin will one day become the first true city of the Shattered Crown.

A vast region of intense electromagnetic activity located deep within the debris field. Rich concentrations of exposed metallic planetary fragments interact with local gravitational and magnetic phenomena, producing immense electrical discharges that arc between asteroids and planetary shards. These storms can span hundreds of kilometers and periodically illuminate entire sections of the system.

Navigation through The Lightning Expanse is notoriously dangerous. Sensor interference, electrical surges, and unpredictable energy discharges have damaged or destroyed numerous vessels attempting to traverse the region without proper preparation. Even experienced pilots often avoid the area whenever possible.

Preliminary surveys suggest that some of the richest mineral deposits in the entire system lie hidden within the storms. Vast quantities of ultrachrome, quadranium, crystalline formations, and metallic fragments have been detected among the debris. As a result, the Expanse has become both the most feared and most sought-after region in the Shattered Crown.

SECURITY
Low
  • AAI Security Teams
  • Survey Escort Craft
  • Navigation Monitoring Stations
  • Long-Range Sensor Arrays
  • House Angelis Mandalorian Detachment
  • Rapid Response Starfighters
The system's security presence is focused primarily on protecting survey operations, enforcing mining claims, assisting navigation, and responding to emergencies. While the majority of day-to-day security is handled by AAI personnel, House Angelis maintains a permanent Mandalorian detachment within the system.

These warriors serve as both a rapid response force and a visible reminder that the Shattered Crown lies within Mandalorian space. Though still limited in number, the detachment has already earned a reputation among prospectors and contractors for aggressively combating piracy, protecting industrial assets, and maintaining order throughout the fledgling frontier.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Shattered Crown System remained largely ignored throughout recorded galactic history. Though local navigators were aware of the debris field, hazardous navigation conditions, shifting gravitational anomalies, and the absence of major trade routes discouraged serious exploration. To most spacers, it was little more than a dangerous scar.

That perception changed following the rise of Adonis Angelis Industries on Vaal. Seeking new opportunities for industrial expansion, House Angelis commissioned a series of exploratory surveys throughout neighboring systems. What began as a routine prospecting effort soon revealed something extraordinary. Beneath the shattered remains of a dead world lay vast quantities of exposed mineral wealth, resources that would normally remain buried beneath planetary crusts and inaccessible to all but the most ambitious mining ventures.

Initial surveys identified promising concentrations of quadranium, ultrachrome, and other strategically valuable industrial metals scattered throughout the debris field. Smaller traces of rarer materials, including phrik-bearing ore, were also detected among several planetary fragments. The discovery transformed the system from a forgotten navigational hazard into one of the most promising industrial prospects in the Gordian Reach.

Recognizing both the economic and strategic significance of the region, House Angelis quickly moved to secure claims throughout the system. The construction of the Angelis Extraction Platform soon followed, accompanied by survey teams, engineers, prospectors, security personnel, and the first wave of permanent settlers. What had once been an empty debris field began its transformation into a frontier.

As Warden of Vaal, Adonis Angelis viewed the Crown as more than a commercial venture. Its proximity to Vaal, abundance of resources, and location within Mandalorian-controlled space made it a vital investment in the future of the region. Alongside industrial development came a permanent Mandalorian presence tasked with protecting survey operations, enforcing claims, safeguarding shipping lanes, and ensuring stability as settlement expanded.

Today the Shattered Crown remains in its infancy. Survey vessels continue to chart unexplored fragments, prospectors search for fortunes hidden among the debris, and new facilities rise with each passing cycle. Yet despite its youth, many already view the system as the future cornerstone of House Angelis expansion, a place where a dead world has been given a second life.

Among those who work its docks, brave its storms, and stake their futures upon its fractured stone, a common saying has emerged:

"The world may have shattered, but the Crown still endures."
