The Shadow of Shorn [Sasha]

The transfer from Fresia to Lianna had been swift, and it was there - in a cell far worse than the one he had previously been cooped up in - that Shorn awaited trial. Murder was a very real offense, regardless of how many Force Users believed that their omnipotence could waver the fact.

Well, Luce wasn't much of a Force User. He was one of the little guys, perhaps that was why he was going through the judicial system unlike some other people he could think of. Namely the fool who had inadvertently killed dear Lars. Because, of course, that hadn't been his fault. He hadn't kriffed up the settings on their saber rakes.

The cell was tight, and what's more there was another individual in there with him. A tall, gruff man who leered over at him from the opposing corner. Luce looked like a babe in comparison.

No doubt word had gotten out by this point, of the trial which was to take place in a matter of weeks. His name, and that of his Father's before him, soiled by one act of uncontainable vengeance. Where was Cordel when he needed him? Then again, the wrath of his Godfather would likely be far more severe than anything a jury could throw at him.

With his head down, this time not through contemplation but stark fear, Luce sat as a statue in his corner and waited for... Something. He hoped the other man would be moved soon, he couldn't deal with this for even a few more days let alone any longer.

Sasha Santhe did not like prisons. She'd been in one once for a drunk and disorderly when she was a teenager. Of course Santhe Security was the police force on Lianna and they got real nice when they figured out that she literally held their collective careers in the palm of her dainty teenaged hand. Times were good. Even now the local authorities were controlled by Sasha herself and when the reports of a Shorn having recently been arraigned reached her, well lets just say it peaked her interest. Sasha had known Mikhail Shorn. It was an odd sort of relationship both antagonistic and... well mostly antagonistic. He had used the force to choke her once and in return she had threatened to crush every bone in his body under the intense artificial gravity generator in her office. And yet...

The woman stared at the image of the young man. Murder? Hardly. Saber Rakes were known for their untimely deaths. There was even sword laws on some planets within the Tapani sector that legalized murder as long as it was done with a blade, or in this case lightfoil. The cheap lightsaber. "Is that all he did?" Sasha asked the guard.

"You saw his file ma'am."

"Oh please," Sasha said with a smile. "You can just call me Sasha." Yes that was the smile that made her a media darling. "I'm going to see him."

And with that Sasha Santhe descended into the prison facility. It was damp, and poorly constructed, old. Sasha didn't care for prisons. She passed the various cells before finally reaching the one she was looking for. Looking at the camera she nodded and the door opened. Sasha entered in and sat down right on the mans bed. "So let me ask you something. Do you know who I am?" Many did, after all the tabloids loved her, however there was a large population who didn't watch such programming.

The man staring at him from the corner of their cell was making him anxious. Lucien pulled at a strand of hair atop his head, where both hands were presently settled as he stooped over in his seat, and tugged it slightly to try and divert his attention. But it was no use. The young boy had known fear, he'd known isolation, but this was something all together different. He felt on edge, like the calm before a storm he was waiting for something drastic to happen... Though he didn't know when that would be.

So it was that when the cell opened he was clearly surprised. He had been expecting something else, though that wasn't to say the change of pace wasn't welcome. The man in the corner seemed to turn away as whoever approached entered the cell. It was oddly liberating to see him on the back foot. With that said, though, Luce was worried to find out exactly why that was.

He felt the bed creak as someone else joined him on it, and cautiously he cast his gaze to his side. Why would a guard settle on his--- oh. That was definitely not a guard. Narrowing his eyes a little, he wondered just what a woman like her was doing in a place like this. He was going to presume she'd been caught doing something untoward, that was until she spoke. There was a confidence to her tone, more so than that authority. She held power here, in some way.

To her question Luce simply shook his head: he had spent the first ten years of his life away from civilisation, with just his sister and one other for company. The rest had been with the Saber Rakes, or Lucien. And Cordel did not like him knowing anything of his family's past.

"No, ma'am" he hastily replied, upon finding his voice. Despite his resounding no, he did feel that she was familiar in at least some way though he couldn't quite place his finger on it. Maybe he'd just seen her face in some holo-mag. She seemed like the sort of woman who would be in the news, or something. Luce didn't know, his mind was racing at this point. "Should I? ... Know who you are, I mean"

Sasha stared at the young man and frowned. She was no older than him when she had met Mikhail Shorn, an innocent girl. Okay who was she kidding? She was a queen. It happens. Age had matured her though she still possessed a few of her rougher edges. The roughest edge being that she never had a nice thing to say about anybody. Well except [member="Darth Orcus"]. Hion the Herglic was a good whale have as a friend and was always amenable. [member="Darth Adekos"] was a friend, though that didn't prevent her from giving him thorough tongue lashings... although he didn't seem to enjoy her little kiss she gave him way back when. Perhaps he wasn't into women? Yes clearly that was it. Oh well he was still a good close friend.

"Yes, you probably should," she replied. "Then again you are young." Sasha pondered what to do now. The truth was she didn't have a plan, she just felt a sudden need to be here, and to stick her nose in. "So tell me, how would you like to get out of here and have a bit of dinner with me?"

The woman glanced over him, seemingly lost in her own thoughts. Lucien didn't mind the silence, it was nice to be left alone with his thoughts and not have the thug in the corner stare him down. He wondered why she had come here, she didn't seem like an attorney or anyone with any real interest in a child who had gone off the rails and killed a couple of people. She looked far too important to be stuck in these awful cells.

Finally she spoke, apparently he should have known who she was. "I don't get out much" he muttered, almost ironic given the situation. More silence lapped around them, throughout which Luce tore his gaze from her in order to inspect the cell. As if he hadn't done so a thousand times already. Truth be told he just wanted to keep his eye on his cell mate.

All at once she offered to take him to dinner.

Luce blinked. He did not take it as a date, she was far too old for him - though he'd never admit as much aloud! - instead he was simply perplexed. He was sat in a cell, on trial for murder, and she wanted to take him out for food?

His paranoia and suspicions grew. Who was she to have so much power over the prisoners?

"You're not gonna kill me, are you?" Hey, it was a very real possibility. The family he killed had connections even if their place in society had fallen. For all he knew, there was a great big target on his back.
