"You’re 3 o-clock appointment with the new Senator of Balmorra, Senator Grassias Dala Grassias Dala , just landed, and he should be arriving shortly.”

She lifted her head and offered a warm smile to her secretary, who was peaking her head into her office door with the update. “Thank you Kia. Can you see him in once he arrives?”

She nodded, then closed the door. Tiresh breathed in deeply and let out a sigh as she turned her mind off of what she had been working on and prepared herself for the important first connection she was about to have with the new Senator. After the horrendous meeting she had experienced recently with Leviticus Dol Amroth, she had grown a bit weary of first encounters. But she had to remind herself that not everyone was as narrow minded and childish as the Senator of Had Abbadon. Upon hearing that he had cut off all travel from Lujo and the other FAC systems to his planet, She had simply laughed in disbelief at his apparent inability to separate his own ego from the needs of his people. Yes, she found him to be very distasteful to say the least, but she was still willing to work with him despite her own personal feelings because the needs of her constituents and the Alliance as a whole far outweighed her own personal grudges. It seemed that the same could not be said for the masked Senator.

She pushed the man far from her thoughts and dared to have higher hopes for the Senator of Balmorra. There was a lot that intrigued her about him, and she felt like they might get along rather well, at least on the outlook. He did have stronger bents towards the corporatists, but that was actually a blessing. As much as her opponents tried to paint her as being anti-corporation and anti-prosperity, she was anything but. However, when you are trying to bring a more balanced perspective, often you have to tug harder in the other direction at first.

When the Senator arrived, he would be greeted warmly by her staff and offered a refreshment if he desired, then escorted into her office where he would see a wall of windows behind the Senator which overlooked the Coruscant skyline. Tiresh would be seated at a modest desk in her usual Senatorial wardrobe. There would be two comfortable chairs surrounding a small coffee table to the side of the room, which is where their meeting would take place.

Attire

The Senator from Balmorra would walk in long slow strides as he made his way from the landing pad on his new blue-eyed colleague's building. His shuttle had barely entered orbit when he got the call from Senator's office requesting a sitdown and he of course graciously agreed. The former executive was wondering who would be the first to court him and it appeared the new Concordist Party was his answer.

His cane tapped away as he walked into the Senator's office, graciously accepting a cup of coffee from Kia before proceeding into the office and offering a hand to shake. "It is a pleasure to meet you in person Senator. I often see you and your efforts on the holo news but had I never imagined you would be the first new colleague I would meet. I take it you have a purpose for this... expediency?"

Tiresh immediately stood up as soon as the door opened, walking around her desk and taking his hand with a warm smile and a polite nod of greeting, “Senator Dala! Allow for me to be the first to congratulate you on the success of your political campaign! Thank you so much for sharing some of your precious time with me. Here... please, have a seat…” She motioned towards the coffee table, and she would sit down elegantly across from him with a glass of water in her hand, crossing her legs in front of her and offering another smile once their eyes met again,

“Must a Senator need a purpose beyond your success and the desire to congratulate you?” She laughed, though her expression admitted to the fact that there were other elements in play, “But yes, you are not mistaken, I’m afraid. I wish the senate was in a more… stable position... than it currently is. But it appears that such luxuries have not been afforded to us.” She winced slightly, taking a sip of water. “I’m sure you are aware of some of the turbulence that is currently being stirred up, Senator?”

The Senator shook her hand with a firm grip and a sincere smile. Far be from him to create discord where they did not need to be any. "Thank you Senator Kobitana. I hope for the sake of Balmorra that the best man did win." Following his colleague's lead, he would lay his cane against the table and sit down on the comfortable chair. Yes, being a senator did have its small perks including a not sore rear end.

Grassias gave the Senator an all-knowing smirk through her laugh, not believing her for a second. "If you really just desired to congratulate me, you would have waited till I fully had moved into my chambers instead of swatting at my incoming shuttle with your message." The older man's face became more solum as she explained the other purposes for this invitation. "Nothing in this galaxy is... stable but I get your point. Tithe's want to remove turn limits is very disturbing and smacks a little bit like Palpatine's takeover to be completely honest. Plus the attempt on your life which yes... could have been at his order though we have no direct proof other than motive." He would knock on the windows with his gentle chuckle. "To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if this is blaster-proof glass. Otherwise, we have the good ole corporate hound dogs baying at our hells, wanting more and more power to create their profit. The GA is heading towards parlous times though it isn't the Maw that will cause our demise, it is ourselves. So, what is your plan other than to use your celebrity to force an election to take over the Chancerally for yourself and your new faction? What is your goal for our not-so-little section of the galaxy?"

Tiresh felt a wave of relief after hearing the Senator's assessment of current events. She nodded as he spoke, sipping from her glass, then letting out a laugh at his comment about the blaster proof glass, again nodding in confirmation that his suspicions were correct on the matter.

"Our goal is balance." She said confidently, "We have observed an alarming indifference to any voice that is not coming from that of a Corporatist. Before we formed the Coalition, the Corporatists had enough power to do whatever they wanted, and we witnessed an almost exclusive focus on Mega-corporations being released without any accountable in their actions over entire systems. We finally reached the tipping point with the legislation that we were able to pass by the slimmest of margins regarding the incident on Denon, and it is clear that while that legislation was not radical in it's nature, it caused a massive upsetting of the status quo. The Corporatists now realize that we are gaining traction, and instead of wanting to work with us, they are trying to silence us and remain in the power position."

She leaned back in her chair and shook her head with a sense of frustration, taking a sip of her water, "They are the radicals, Senator Dala. Our coalition consists of Concordists, Populists, Federalists, Imperialists, and Independents… we have all been able to rally together in spite of our differences for the common good of the Alliance. The Alliance is in a desperate and uncertain hour, and having a mono-thematic approach like the Corporatists will bring us to the breaking point. We want to protect our borders and rebuild an image of strength to our enemies, so that they fear to attack us, and they believe that we will respond appropriately to any attack on Alliance territory. We want to bring massive reformation to the rule of law, allowing for mega-corporations to be held responsible for their business practices. We want to weed out the corruption within the Senate by bringing massive reform internally through the Committee on Rules, of which I am the Chair holder. We want to allow for free markets and planetary systems to thrive without being overrun by massive monopolies and mega-corporation's vice grip on their people and politicians."

She leaned forward, interlocking her fingers on her lap around the glass as she looked intently into Grassias Dala Grassias Dala 's eyes, "And we need more Corporatists in our ranks. We are not anti-corporation or anti prosperity as some have suggested, we are simply pro-accountability and transparency."

The Senator from Balmorra nodded sagely as he listened to the Coalition's goals, raising a hand to calm her as she tried to punch her argument right into his brain. "I understand, truly. Tithes want to stay in power and doing anything to get it is concerning enough. What you just laid out to me is more than enough reason to back you or at least not get in your way when the next vote comes into session. I'll not put my full support behind this... "Coalition" till I can see it in action and see if you really have the majority or if those votes are just on paper. I don't like putting all my eggs in one basket before I even have a full basket in my hands."

Sipping his caf, he would return a steely gaze with his "seen it all" eyes. The Balmorran didn't mean to discount her arguments but he did feel hesident to commit to such a massive coalition without seeing it in action. The voting floor revealed all and made previous alliances mute. Plus being so new it was better to stick a toe in rather than dive in the legislature's water. with this new group. "That being said, is there any new legislation coming up that you wish me to support?"

She leaned back in her chair and nodded knowingly. It was risky business to align openly with the coalition, she could not deny that fact. “That is understandable.” She said as she took another sip of water, “I am grateful for any support you feel comfortable to provide. Sssar Taszzn Sssar Taszzn will be putting forward some significant legislation related to the Federal Marshals and Sector Rangers, focused specifically on anti-corruption investigations. We would be very grateful for your vote on the matter if you feel so inclined.”

She then smiled and shifted her posture slightly, “If you have the time, I would love to hear more regarding your own personal convictions. I understand that you are currently registered an an independent, is that accurate?”

Grassias chuckled as the Senator asked "I'm sure the movers will be breaking my vases with or without me at home so sure, I would be willing to talk for a bit. As for my perfect world, the planets within the GA would have strong governments and strong professional militia to fight back against small Maw squadrons. If it is a big enough threat, the militia would stall as long as possible while a sector fleet came up to support them. The planets should have their way with trading and local politics with the Senate being a place to decide disputes and the Chancellor being a basic traffic cop during a session. A figurehead with a purpose, nothing more, nothing less."

The older Senator scratched at his forehead, wondering if he should move onto another important topic before his thoughts spilled out into the air. "As for foreign entanglements... Well, you should know that Ingrid can't be trusted. Not after something like this..." With a slow drawn-out movement to make sure the Senator didn't think he was drawing out a blaster, he got out a datapad and activated it, scrolling through to a picture of dead civilians lying in partially covered up mass graves. "This is after that Mando raid on Panatha. As far as my sources go, one of the EE generals ordered the mass killing of civilians or as he deemed them "rebels" as they retreated to the rear and then tried to bury them but only got halfway done before the Mandos pushed them back. Maybe it was just the General's order or maybe it was the Empress's order herself. Either way, the situation in the EE is rather distressing plus with our latest border skirmish not that long ago, I suggest we start looking into either sending our own eyes to see what it is really is like in the EE. Maybe then we can decide to support the Mandos, at least in material standards. The Mandos haven't made any war crimes yet at least."

"As for the rest of the galaxy, well the Empire is riding on a knife's edge as two brothers fight internally to see if it becomes a dictatorship or a more open governance model. As much as I would like to say Lucien Dooku will come out on top, that is very much in doubt with his Brother having at least all of the Empire's more elite military units like his personal guard under his direct say. The boy has a long way to go to become a leader too... It's a long shot but he might make it in the long run if he keeps himself alive. As for the Ashlanders well, they are sometimes extreme in their purges of the Galaxies darker folk. Even if they weren't, they are too deep into the Empire's pocket to be trusted.

As the Silvers, they are too stuck in their passive ways now that their main enemy in the Byrn is destroyed. Plus they are "friends" with the EE which tells me how smart they are. If I had to choose whose alliances I kept, I would choose the Elyism Empire and Enclave. Both are new nations but that means both have no real history and no previous alliances. Why shouldn't their history start with us?"

Tiresh nodded in agreement with much of what he proposed regarding internal Alliance values. She personally leaned heavily towards empowering the governments of local systems as opposed to strict centralization.

At his remarks regarding foreign policy, she listened as she sipped from her water. He seemed to be very opposed to most other governments, and some of what he shared did not align with the reports that she had read. She opted to gloss over it for the most part, offering him a smile,

"I must say I find much to align with on your perfect world. Regarding international relationships, I think we can probably find dirt on anyone if we dig hard enough… even the Alliance has its own dirty secrets we wish had never happened." She said it warmly and then shifted her legs a bit to the side,

"And I think we should always strive to establish new allies. We have enough enemies as it is." She had heard some rather unsettling reports regarding the Enclave, but opted to not bring that into the conversation.

The Senator gave a soft chuckle as he waved his own comments away. "Of course, no one is innocent in this galaxy, even the "good guys". And I do think we should try to reach out as well. I just don't know at this point how many friends are available to have. The only groups that haven't been openly hostile towards us are the AC, Enclave, Silvers and Elysium. The Empire pretty much has shunned us and the EE still prowls our borders, looking for any signs of weakness."

Finishing his caf, he would look into the Senator's blue eyes with his honest own. "I would be open to seeing what diplomatic proposals you have. Otherwise, unless there is anything else, then I'll make my exit. Thank you for your hospitality and for bearing with my mind as it wanders through this unfamiliar terrain. Maybe one day I can call the senate my home but for now, being the new guy will have to suffice."

She tapped the side of her glass with her finger, musing upon his inquiry. "Well, I think we should strengthen the alliances that already exists, and pursue alliances with more neutral powers, as long as there is some form of mutual ground that can be built upon. My immediate impression is the incredible importance of strengthening our relationship with the Ashlan Crusade. They are one of our strongest allies, but they are also allied with the NIO. If it comes down to all-out war between the Alliance and the NIO, We need for the Crusade to side with us. I know there are those who are more militarized within the Crusade, but many of their prominent leaders are very moderate. Did you know that they have been developing significant humanitarian efforts within their boards as well as becoming major financial benefactors for humanitarian initiatives within the Alliance?"

Grassias gave a brief nod, the ideas in his head colliding together as he chose which ones to let loose. "Agreed. Whether the other sides will want to strengthen those bonds has yet to be seen. Though with this new coalition you have, those efforts might be a little easier. As for the Crusade in specific, I would at least be willing to hear out what they have to offer us other than their humanitarian deeds. If I'm right, one of those moderates is Isla Draellix-Kobitana Isla Draellix-Kobitana correct? Would there be an easy way to contact her?" Unknown to G, the Senator from Lujo had a really quick way to call up the Grand Admiral. Hopefully, there was more talking than moaning within that conversation.

Tiresh smiled and nodded knowingly, “Oh yes, Isla Draellix-Kobitana Isla Draellix-Kobitana is a significant partner and benefactor within the Kobitana Foundation. I have been working in partnership with her for a while now. And she is a very significant connection, considering that she is the Prime Minister.”

She took another sip, pausing and processing what else to say, “I think it would be advantageous to develop more intentional bonds with the Silvers as well, however I personally have no such connection with them.”

The Senator looked out onto the skyline as he replied. This city was full of movers and shakers plus those who were less fortunate. All of them had to depend on the Senate to survive. What a power they had and now it was put into his lap. Let us hope he used it well. "As far as I know, the Silvers are another beast altogether. Their new Grand Master usually sends out parties instead of actually interacting himself. Those parties are usually led by an Admiral named Gir Quee Gir Quee so that's probably the place to start. The only downside to the Silvers is that I don't how many of the Senate have forgotten the whole Elder compact ordeal though at this point it's probably not an issue, so try to wrangle a whole Jedi order to the bargaining table to your heart's content."

Tiresh smiled and nodded. She was somewhat familiar with Gir Quee Gir Quee through Lucerne Labs, a company that had been most generous in supplying the Lujian Planetary fleet with an exclusive Munto LF-class Escort Transport. Although they had never met, she already carried respect for the Admiral.

“That is an excellent idea, Senator Dala.” She said with a nod. “Hopefully we can all move past the conflicts of the past for the sake of the future.” She stood up and smiled warmly, offering a hand to the new Senator, “I’m sure you are terribly busy, but I am very grateful for you to have shared so much of your time with me, Senator. I hope that this meeting is the first of many.”
