Baifa Monü Zhuan
The crystal Palace of Xam'chi was a beautiful thing. High upon the cliffs, the palace stands looking like a single mountain of kyberite, a solitary crystalline structure designed to rival the city of Jar'kai. Its exterior is a polished and prismatic wall in the light, yet within this formidable shell lies a sanctuary of fluid grace. Immaculate white kazue stone forms hundreds of multi-tiered domes that climb the mountainside, their ivory expanses protecting it from attack as they have hundreds of rooms and chambers. Every space is bathed in a perpetual golden-hour warmth, where turquoise pools sit in flawless stillness, mirroring the golden filigree of arched windows and the lush, cascading vines of the terraced gardens.
Junko moved through the palace's verticality descending through a symphony of arched pavilions and suspended viaducts the sheer scale of the descent becomes clear. Vast staircases, broad enough for the grandest processions, meander downward in elegant spirals towards the gates of the city below. Each terrace offers a new, plunging panorama: first, the silver-barked trees of the palace gardens and then, the breathtaking concentric perfection of the city of Xam'chi. Spreading out from the base of the cliffs a bridge and gate connecting the mountain to the legendary port city reveals its massive circular layout etched into the flawless coastline. White sands, clear waters, ruins from the oldest Atrisians slowly degrading whee the kazue stone still stands.
From this height, the city is a masterpiece of symmetry. At the outermost ring, towering white kazue stone walls punctuated by grand arched gateways embrace the crashing turquoise waves. Harbors teem with merchant vessels, their masts swaying gently as massive aqueducts pour waterfalls directly from the city walls into the frothing ocean below. Moving inward, the rings of the city rise in stepped grandeur. Gleaming waterways and vibrant canal systems are lined with terraced marble platforms and temples crowned by jade tiled roofs. Deeper still, the middle rings ascend into districts carved directly from stone where majestic waterfalls plunge into shimmering pools that sustain orchards heavy with fruit. Towering obelisks and spires, inscribed with ancient murals, pierce the sky like spokes of a great wheel.
At the very heart of this concentric marvel lies the innermost sanctum a fortified central island dominated by a palatial complex of gleaming white kazue stone and aurodium. Encircled by a tranquil ceremonial air dock for the ships, the grandest temple stands paramount, its massive dome and towering pillars evoking a sense of divine authority. From the crystal heights of the palace to the bustling ports of the sunlit sea, the path downward is one of shifting perspectives, moving from the silent, ozone-scented heights of the kyberite shell into the warm, salt-misted life of the ancient metropolis. Junko was able to see many more things she had come here to visit the Sansin and after the battle of Atrisia they were applying many of the upgrades to defenses they had developed here as well as to other cities across the planet.
