First Reply The Scavenger (Jakku)

Wearing: Nathan's Robes

Armed With: Training Lightsaber (Blue)

Earlier...

For Nathan, scavenging old wrecks was one of the rare moments he felt anything resembling enjoyment.

Stripping rare metals, salvaging processors and reselling them, finding and selling high value gear...he excelled at this.

The wreck of an old Imperial Star Destroyer always yielded something of value.

It also helped him not think about attacking Lossa Darcuhl Lossa Darcuhl .

Kytrand was a stupendous find. Properly cultivated, it could help billions, not just the Jedi Order.

Yet other than finding those Force Using medics, all he could think about was Lossa.

Sure, her choice to join the battle while pregnant may have been a tactically awful position, but he still felt something resembling guilt. It was what had led him to be out scavenging longer than normal in the hot Jakku heat.

Scavving kept him honest. Being down in the dirt and rust, kept the potential power Kytrand offered from going to his head. This was why he had ceded military control of it to his Fiance: Absolute power corrupts absolutely. And with his mind focused on the annihilation of those who had taken away his parents, his Wife, his daughter...he knew on some level, his judgement was compromised, biased. If he went full tilt crazy, it would be better to have overwhelming numbers to subdue him.

Working with old junk could only do so much however.

As he carefully used a repaired miniature atomic furnace to separate valuable metals from what had been once very expensive engineering parts and tools, he sensed a disturbance.

He rose from his place amidst the ruined repair bay of the old Venator, and drew his training lightsaber.

He ventured out of it seeing a woman in white, skintight combat armor. She was Twi'lek, with blue skin and rotting looking yellow eyes with no pupils. Her fingers clung to a heavy looking sword wreathed in an aura of red flames.

"Howdy, Bloodscrawl." The woman hissed, curvy and athletic. "What a coincidence, running into you here..."

"You'll regret the 'coincidence', abomination..." Nathan growled, leveling his saber at her.

"Make me." the Swordfighter Fragment sneered as she approached.

She lunges with a professional efficiency and Nathan switched to Soresu instantly to deflect.

She lunges again, strikes executed with strength and clarity, never letting up, never giving him an opportunity to counter-attack, her slashes grew stronger, faster and he was driven backward in the wreckage of the Venator, before a quick lunging kick knocked him into a hole that led to a lower deck.

He slammed brutally onto rusted plating, felt his right shoulder almost go numb as he rolled out of the way before she could land on him from above, sword plunging where his chest had been a moment prior into the plating. He was up deflecting feverishly delivered power Attacks as she pushed him further and further back. Nathan did his best to conserve energy. He could have used Electric Judgement to obliterate the relatively weak creature, but if he spammed such a powerful ability to win, it might cause others to question just what else he knew.

He would have to win the way a normal Jedi would.

With only a training saber.

Their battle took them through a partly collapsed area full of cables that obscured vision. Her blade whipped about with the precision of a laser, crashing more brutally against his guard. He did not strike back, choosing to...reluctantly...trust in the Force.

It told him to shunt her blade thrust to the side and he did, her blade bit through an old power conduit, causing an explosion of sparks that blinded her and allowed him to get some distance between them.

He almost didn't see the glint of her blade's aura as it lunged for his chest. He parried, but didn't strike back as his blade couldn't cut. If she knew he only had a training blade, then he would be able n real trouble.

"Such power!" she hissed. "You cannot truly believe you can conceal all you know forever?"

"I can conceal it enough to destroy you."

"We shall see..." The Fragment hissed.

The attacks came even more relentless than before, and again he redirected her blade into the walls, wondering where the Force was taking them.

When they reached a high security armory, with blaster turrets mounted on the ceiling and still running power, he at last realized what he had to do. Old security systems were sometimes still active, feeding on whatever remnant of emergency power still remaining.

He teleported away from her after she pulled her sword back for another strike. He teleported a blaster pistol to him, but did not fire at her as she wheeled around. He instead fired at one of the inactive turrets, not close enough to damage it, but enough to get it's faulty sensors to reactivate.

It went haywire, spraying fire at his general direction, and he deflected bolts frantically at both it and the Fragment, just as a small bubble shield sprang up on the turret.

The Fragment used her sword to try and block the shots, and succeeded in catching the ones Nathan directed at her...

...but was caught off guard by the shots Nathan had banked off the turret's shield, shots which blasted her to pieces from above and behind, leaving a disgusting mess of white blood and decayed yellow organs behind, the turret shield failing as it got overwhelmed by its own Blasterfire. The turret exploded soon after...

(Nathan has grown more skilled at Soresu!)

ENHANCEMENT: Form 3

Redirection Precision +1: Nathan has grown slightly more precise at redirecting deflected bolts with Soresu.

Multi-Target Deflection +1: Nathan can now redirect fired Blaster bolts at two different targets

Deflecting Slash +1: Deflecting Slash can now be executed more fluidly and with less energy required

Heavy Deflecting Slash +1: Nathan can now execute a Heavy Deflecting Slash, which has greater chance to turn aside Maser based energy projectiles that strike with greater kinetic force. Can also possibly turn aside melee based power Attacks

Bolt Detection +1: Slightly greater ability to sense incoming Blaster Bolts

Nathan didn't shut off his lightsaber because he still sensed something dark...

He spotted an old, dusty container, taller and thicker than him, and he went to investigate. The pull of the Dark Side from within was very strong.

He cut it open carefully and pulled the seal off to reveal a full set of Sith Battle Armour.

Nathan pulled back...almost...

But out of curiosity, his hand reached out and touched the alchemized battle plate.

He saw himself, amidst a field of the dead, holding the sword of the Witch he had slaughtered in combination with a bled lightsaber, clad in the heavy armour he had become so we'll known for on the battlefield.

He always thirsted for battle now, a Marauder leading an army of clones in his quest to not just make the Cult pay, but the Jedi pay as well for failing his daughter so badly. Sating his vengeance one of his few genuine joys.

He waded through battle, waded through armies, hacking away like a true Marauder of the Sith, having decided to become a king rather than remain a pawn--

What are the three directives of a Bloodscrawl?

The question his father had asked since he was young shook him from the vision of slaughter, made him rip his hand away from the alchemized plate.

He shook his head.

"I remember them, Father." he said to no one, letting the Force Coalesce a spear of light into his hand on instinct, which he them jammed into the battle plate.

Cracks of light spread rapidly across the armor as the spear went deep. His dark aura was extinguished as the armor disintegrated into useless carbon dust.

Nathan than tossed the spear at the Fragments sword, and it was obliterated in a flash of light.

Nathan staggered back, mentally exhausted.

(Nathan has moved slightly closer to the Light Side of the Force)

(Force Connection has healed slightly)

(Nathan's choice to reject the dark vision has altered his Force Connection)

CHARACTER ENHANCEMENTS

Light Side Aura +1: Nathan has acquired a very minor Light Side Aura. Small animals may be non hostile in his presence. Becomes Slightly Faster and stronger in Light Side Nexuses. Neutral Defensive Powers easier to use. Dark Side users may feel innate disgust at character. Has become better at resisting Dark Side mental attacks.

(New Light Side Powers Gained!)

Power: FORCE HEAL

Heal lacerations, bone, burns, and organ damage. As connection to the Light Grows, more serious injuries may be healed

Power: FORCE VALOR

Boost Stamina, Strength, Speed and potency of Light Side abilities for a short time. As Connection to the Light Increases, greater amounts of every category can be achieved.

(New Force Powers Gained!)

Power: FORCE ILLUSION

Cast illusions on mentally vulnerable opponents. As skill increases, more complex illusions can be potentially casted with success on much stronger opponents.

Power: TELEKINESIS

With the exception of Laertia, and now Nathan, no Bloodscrawl has ever been able to use telekinesis, often having no ability at it all or having to strain themselves to the point of exhaustion or even nearly killing themselves to lift even a pencil. This was seen as a consequence of their extreme gifts at Force teleportation.

Nathan's choices have, however altered the very nature of his connection. He can now use telekinesis in addition to his teleporting. As skill grows, greater feats can be executed

Lift Objects +1: Lift very minor objects

Lightsaber Throw +1: Throw Lightsaber in a single, arcing spin before returning to thrower

Saber Barrier +1: Lightsaber Spins in orbit around user for a short time

Force Push +1: Launch Weak Force Push

Force Pull +1: Launch weak Force Pull

Present...

Nathan arrived at the Jakku Enclave with a crate of salvage, and had not told anyone what happened to him in the desert.

Without anything else to really do, he had showered, dressed in fresh training robes, and headed to the library, deciding to take his mind off what had happened. Nonetheless he for some reason was feeling more...sociable...than usual, and wouldn't have objected talking to anyone whole searching for something to read...
