OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: The Sarlacc Syndicate
  • Classification: Criminal Organization/Mafia
  • Loyalties: Jorco
  • Organization Symbol: The symbol of the organization is a top down view of a Sarlacc Pit
  • Description: The Sarlacc Syndicate works not only to gain credits and undermine governments. But also more surprisingly as a equal opportunist employer for those seeking and willing to take on a less then legal occupation. Overall this organization runs very much like a mafia, mixed with a swoopbike and pirate gang. but with a hint of unorganized street crime in the mix. This is the natural evolution of Jorco's old Rodian Mafia

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Nar Shaddaa
  • Realm:
  • Rodia
  • Nar Shaddaa
  • Nal Hutta
  • Ando
  • Lyran IV
  • Domain: Rodia is the only planet under their umbrella once could say they have a good holding. Considering it was founded during a time of social unrest it was much easier to take control of the underworld with organized crime. However, everywhere else the Sarlacc Syndicate tries to keep a relativly low profile. Since it's understood that there's bigger fish in the sea.
  • Notable Assets: N/A

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy:
  • Boss/President -The Big Cheese
  • Consigliere - Advisor to the Boss
  • Under Boss/Vice President
  • Caporegime
- SGT at Arms
- Operations Captain
- Secretary
- Treasurer
  • Soldier/Enforceer
  • Member/Prospect
  • Associates- not official members
  • Membership Unlike the older interrogations and blood oaths of Jorco's old Rodian Mafia that ever member had to go through, Jorco did away with it being necessary. Effectively opening the flood gates for any would be criminal to join up or associate themselves with. This is really only true though for the lower level members. In order to even enter into the organization's middle management one must go through some mild interrogations and deem themselves reliable before needing to do a blood oath stating that they'll never go against the organization and up hold it, even if they're no longer a part of it. Another thing that has carried over, is that a recommendation from a member is very much sought after. Although not an offical or required part of the organization from its member, many after add patches to signify their position within the organization. It is estimated that there's about 1,500 official members.
  • Influence: The influence of the Sarlacc syndicate is thinly stretched between a hand full of planets. Only really having a view bases of operations on each one, with a small fleet of mostly non military grade ships connecting it all.
  • Climate: [Friendly local business? Czerka style intrigue? Are you at risk of expiring just by checking in at work? Describe what kind of feel your organization has from the inside.] Despite being a criminal organization, it's understood that most members do actually get along. Given that the syndicate was founded on the idea of watching each other's backs. Something pulled from Jorco's old gang.
  • Reputation: The organization is pretty unknown as it's pretty resent. Some may even think of it as a branch of the Hutt Cartels with it being mainly situated around Hutt Space. Making most lean to a more wary view of the syndicate. Even though it's not, and to those who know they they'd just view it as a fledgling intersellar gang that's just trying to make it big.
  • Rules:
- In fighting is not tolerated
- When Aid is requested from a fellow on their work you should provide it given that you can. (Adopted by the bounty hunter's guild of old)
- Respect and comply with the orders of those with higher rankings in the organization.
- No dealing with slaves
  • Doctrines: [Describe the principles and tenets kept by this group in relation to rules/laws within it, religious beliefs, teachings and philosophies created by its leaders and kept by the people within it. This can include various aspects of a faith/religion, or rules to a club, laws of a mafia or guild, etc.] Some of the doctrines have been pulled and adopted from Jorco's old gang. Along with the blood oath that states a member shall always up hold, and never go against the syndicate. Another doctrine is that of omerta. Despite it not being as harshly enforced as it used to be. Being caught talking about your business with the syndicate is highly frowned upon.
  • Goals: [What are the goals of this organization? Future plans for expansion? Collection of information? Providing education to those who seek it in certain skills? Supporting charitable works? For all intents and purposes, this is your in-character intent with this organization.] Other then the one thing all organizations like this are created for, credits. Going against those who wish it harm is high up there as well. Same with providing protection and security for its members. Strength in numbers after all.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

After leaving the world of politics behind, Jorco had wished to go back to his roots during the unrest that plagued Rodia. He was gonna slide back into the criminal underworld. Teaming up with his old gang, Jorco and them agreed that they needed to modernize a bit, and almost start to become some kind of exclusive, illegal club. Once that could provide work, and security for its members. Although not completely abandoning their roots and background. The old The Rodian Brotherhood was shaped into the Sarlacc Syndicate. Named after one of the most notorious creatures in all the galaxy. Acting like a little imperfection that eats up anything in can in it's landscape.

Despite being founded on Rodia, the syndicate, like any self respecting criminal organization, headquartered itself on Nar Shaddaa. To make and keep itself apart of the criminal capital of the galaxy. After that they kept a small base of operations on Lyran IV to help connect and bridge the space between Hutt and CIS space. While on planets, it's not uncommon for the small areas under their influence to be looked after by gangsters on speeder/swoop bikes. Also another important note as to how the organization has gained some of its resources and manpower from Jorco's company, Uniform Octopus Co. to aid operations.

When the syndicate first started out to recruit new members, they were predominately Rodian, as that was the main make up of the Brotherhood. More specifically they were Rodian's who were born off world, and had no real loyalty to the clans of Rodia. Another group that would be targeted for recruitment, were disenfranchised, laid off workers, who, as less and less job opportunists became available in the outer rim from the mechanization of jobs from all walks of life. These poor souls without very many options left other then crime quickly became the largest demographic based on background. Because of this many members view themselves less as criminals/gangsters and more like members of a club where they all had each other's backs. However, even with all this, it's still a violent criminal organization that does it's best to not get on the bad side of larger one that surely wouldn't mind stomping out the Syndicate. Also it's important to know that even with the backgrounds of many of the members, droids can still be found within the ranks of the syndicate.

Overall the Sarlacc syndicate does quite a bit of different kinds of criminal activity. On Nar Shaddaa they like to work in gambling and extortion with Rodia. In the space connecting the two planets they smuggle goods as well. Making their own little bridge between CIS and Hutt space. Also with the resources Uniform Octopus can provide they do quite a bit of piracy as well. Plundering those deemed either acceptable enough to be a target, or unfortunate enough to be an enemy.
