This particular weapon has actually been with and used by A’Runda for years. It functioned as his personal Tusken Cycler Rifle which was originally a 6-2Aug2 Hunting Rifle. However, over the last couple months A’Runda has come to realize that the rifle is just too cumbersome to have enough tactical use. So to improve on it’s close quarters effectiveness A’Runda took it to the chopping block, almost literally in his case. He took inspiration the short range Ion Blasters of the Jawas for the design
One of the most obvious modifications he made to his personal weapon was cutting it down to about a 3rd or even a 4th of its original size. Since he’s no gunsmith, A’Runda has had some to keep the rather clunky but straight forward bolt action system in the rifle. However, he believes that the significant decrease in size and being able to use a hip holster is worth any and all of the down sides.
However, one thing he didn’t really foresee was the high recoil of the firearm. Meaning that if he wanted to unload all the slugs from the shortened rifle quickly it would be really inaccurate, almost like a spray and pray, but without the rapid fire. All because of the high recoil and jolting from the bolt action mechanism. Even though it loses some of its stopping power from the lack of velocity that comes with the shorter barrel, it’s still enough to handle big game hunting or for defense against some tough wildlife in the Outer Rim.
