The RNSF serves as the primary planetary defense, law enforcement, and search-and-rescue body across Naboo. It operates through three main branches, alongside a specialized elite unit:- Palace Guard: Responsible for high-profile security, maintaining order at state functions, guarding civic installations in Theed, and serving as the primary ceremonial guard for state officials and foreign dignitaries.
- Security Guard (Civil Police): Manages day-to-day law enforcement, municipal safety, border customs, intelligence gathering, and criminal investigations across Naboo's cities, riverways, and rural provinces.
- Space Fighter Corps: Naboo's famed aerial and space defense branch. Flying sleek N-1 Starfighters and patrol craft, the Corps monitors orbital airspace, neutralizes smuggler or pirate incursions, and provides honor escorts for royal transports.
- The Sovereign's Honor Guard (The Kingsguard/Queensguard): An elite, highly trained specialized unit selected from the top ranks of the Palace Guard and Space Fighter Corps. Operating as both bodyguards and covert protectors, the Sovereign's Guard provides 24/7 personal security for the Sovereign, the Voice of the Houses, and visiting state dignitaries. Trained in advanced hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship, threat assessment, and defensive piloting, members of the Guard are bound by ancient oaths of silence and absolute loyalty, willing to sacrifice their lives to protect the throne and the realm's executive continuity.
Interaction Within the High Republic
While dedicated primarily to local planetary defense, the RNSF maintains vital operational ties across the High Republic:- High Republic Strategic Command Integration: In times of sectorial crisis, dark-side incursions, or naval engagements, elements of the RNSF (particularly the Space Fighter Corps) integrate into joint defense task forces alongside the Republic Army, Navy, and Intelligence Bureau.
- Protocol & Escort Logistics: RNSF honor detachments and fighter escorts frequently accompany the Sovereign, Voice of the Houses, and Senator to diplomatic summits across the Southern Systems and Senate sessions in Theed.
