Where there had been nothing, now there was purpose. His vow would be fulfilled, and the homeland restored, no matter the price. His people were more than willing to pay it, and he was done ignoring their desires. If war was to be waged, then it would be a complete and total war, one that would either end in the extinction of their people, or their final liberation. Never had the Essonians lived in a more dire time.
After the glassing, his people took part in a diaspora across the galaxy. Any friendly worlds that would take them were colonized, and while they were thankful for their hosts, they still dreamed of the day they could go home. Ten long years had passed, and it was beginning to seem as if liberation was simply an impossibility. The might of the Sith Empire was simply too vast - yet even the mightiest of empires fell in time. With their new allies rising to take their places on the galactic stage, it was time for Cedric's people to do the same.
One such colony happened to be on Hapes. Cedric wasn't a particular fan of the planet. They valued things that he considered to be little more than material wants, and indeed there had been a certain amount of tension between the Hapans and the Essonians. Fortunately the latter's mass of military equipment, the training to use it, and their eager desire to serve had led to a mutual agreement. The Essonians helped to defend Hapes, and the Hapans left them alone.
Now the four divisions that called Hapes home were being called up. Only a handful had elected not to sign on with the newly forged Free Corps. Cedric was busying himself with logistics, and trying his very best to make sure they had all the supplies they needed for the long haul. He paced the length of the hanger bay, keenly ignoring the masses of men and women jostling about in preparation for liftoff.
They'd be ready to begin the journey shortly.
