DESCRIPTION
The Rising Phoenix was a phrase used to describe the Mandalorian training method that revolved around the use of an equipped Jetpack, alongside the various methodologies of aerial combat. Little is known about this portion of the Warrior’s Path, for countless versions exist in the annals of history - each bearing a measure of truth, whilst utterly flavoured by diverging experiences and perception. However, there were portions of these differing methodologies that were commonly shared across the ages. One of the most common pieces was that in outfitting their Warriors with Jetpacks, the Mandalorians helped pioneer an unprecedented and wholly new approach to warfare. As other militant agencies across the Galaxy sought to overwhelm their foes with ceaseless tides of Battle Droids, or Armoured formations - the Scions of Mandalore rained death upon their foes from on high.

Thus, to honour the collective and disjointed legacy of their spiritual ancestors, the Warsmiths of the Death Watch sought to create a Jetpack worthy of the Warriors who would, one day, bear them into battle. They began with a standard concept, one that was tried and tested before being passed down throughout the ages. The design centred around a blend of atmospheric gases and fuel, combined in a catalytic chamber that produced thrust - capable of rapidly propelling the Wearer towards the heavens. Naturally, this concept was heavily considered before one of the Warsmiths brought forth the notion of the Fuel’s volatility - and how one wrong move would see a Battle-hardened Warrior turned into a Fireball as it smashed into the soil of the earth. That was a dangerous scenario that they had to consider carrying forward, as their design slowly started to shift in another direction.

When the first prototype was complete, the Warsmiths believed that it was best to marry the twinned concepts of chemical fusion and repulsorlifts into a single device. Both aspects would support the other, while marginally dealing with the fuel’s volatility by thickening the armour plating across the Jetpack’s exterior. While this did little to counter the possibility of a Warrior turning into a Fiery Comet - it did allow the Jetpack to take a few hits now and again. Naturally, this was wholly dependent on the weapon in question, as some were considerably more powerful than the other. Nevertheless, despite its weight, the Jetpack would be capable of gathering enough force to accelerate a fully armed and armoured Mandalorian into the air - or even propel them through space.

The ability to propel them through space was a blessed addition, as that not only expanded their deployment profiles across the countless, and expected battlefields - but the combat tactics the Crusaders of the Death Watch could employ in space as well.

With these twinned technologies married into a single platform, the Warsmiths began micronizing the technology - optimizing the aerial delivery system and creating room for an additional attachment. Yet another item that was supposedly pioneered by the Mandalorians, as that newly acquired room allowed for a mass-driven flexible warhead launcher to be fitted into the armoured shell of the back-mounted device. This item would allow for the Wearer to engage concentrations of hostile forces, or even armoured vehicles from a myriad of elevations. The system was also capable of being dumb-fired in whatever direction the Warrior was orientated, or could utilize the remote uplink functionality to sync it’s targeting data from the Warrior’s helmet. Either way, whom-so-ever was struck by this magnetically accelerated warhead, would find themselves having a terrible day - provided they survived the encounter.

And so, the Jetpack that the Warsmiths of the Death Watch created was christened in honour of the Rising Phoenix and considered to be a crucial part of a Crusader’s battle gear, as they navigated the Path of the Warrior.
