DESCRIPTION
The Rhindon Sword is the heirloom weapon traditionally carried by the rightful heir of Alderaan during their Day of Demand and the trials that followed. While not all trials required combat, the weapon is tradition carried over from ancient times when perspective heirs were forced to fight through the throne room in order to claim their right to undertake the three Trials to prove their worth and its use was preserved through the centuries.
The blade is crafted from darkly colored ancient Phrik alloy, recently restored by the craftsmen of Alderaan in order to ensure the weapon would survive through the next era after it was found in the depths of the Old Palace, the ruins of left after the One Sith occupation before the reconstruction efforts. It is still somewhat stained with marks of long forgotten duels and skirmishes, the rust of several centuries only recently removed and refurbished.
The Rhindon Sword is one hundred nine centimeters long, with its blade measuring a respectful ninety two and a half centimeters. The blade is dual edged, however the hilt is protected by a decorative basket to defend its wielder's knuckles and hands in battle. It is noticeably heavier than one might expect, comparable to Mandalorian Beskads despite its composition being of a traditionally light weight material, rumored to be so that Princes and Princesses feel the “Weight of Rulership” during their trials. A minor detail that has been retained is the use of Manka Cat leather wrapped around the hilt in a comfortable grip.
