The Return

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Circe's Cyracuse-class Drone Carrier

Edge of One Sith space

-

A meeting had been called by the Sith Lady herself, the person who appeared to be junior to Silara while still remaining superior in sorcery and Sith magic skills. She studiously slipped through the smooth, shiny durasteel-plated walls of the starship. She smiled, stepping into the hangar bay as Circe herself awaited the arrival of her apprentice, one she held near and dear to her heart.

[member="Silara"] had disappeared recently. This was something that concerned her greatly - she knew nothing about her current whereabouts, or what she was doing. She had only recently regained any sort of contact with the woman, and as someone whose love was extensively potent, she desired greatly to see her again, get updates.

Hopefully, things would be fine. If not... it could be sad. Very sad.

It was rather confusing to think about, much less discuss, Silara's family tree. Her first born daughter fought against the dark side and her out of spite, calling herself a Jedi in the loosest of terms, while her second child was a stillborn - only to be cloned through a slightly modified genetic palette to more resemble the Sith lady's then-masked appearance. It was this vanity that drove the firstborn against her, but her low-born child, inhabited by a former lover during a time of crisis, did not share the same hatred or passions. The inexplicable things had occurred during the last several months, the chaotic events throughout the galaxy had seemingly came to an end and it was now a time for the Voice to begin harvesting a greater source of power than the childish obsessions of her teens and twenties. She was a mature adult now, at the ripe age of forty, and as a Sith and a Sorceress, it was the prime age for amassing a wealth of knowledge and power - although she would more than certainly have to resolve the issues with her blindness.

While she had temporarily evaded public eye in the face of the Sith, she had more than enough time to create an extensive recorded library of her own thoughts and muses, had older texts transcribed to audio-logs for her to listen to during her long flights or business meetings, and now she was to speak with her low-born, a being of of her creation and manipulation. Far from perfection, surely, but she would have to do for the moment. She had, at one point, been her master after all. Not that she needed to know that she'd since killed her own true master and carved her own name into the sands of time, or that she'd become a true master in the most rigid of terms. She would, however, weave a tale of vulnerability, of weakness, a web she'd spun on Kashyyk due to a vision of the force during her search through the krypts of Darth Andeddu years prior. She saw the pyramid ablaze, the overwhelming darkness of primordial proportions speak out to her through imagery, and it had put her in chains that would only be broken if she were to lose her match on the jungle planet. Then he would fall, and she would be thrust from the limelight to have further reason, motivation, to pursue greater power, as all Sith did.

"Hello, Circe. I see you've taken care to ensure the body you've been provided is not to be damaged just yet."

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
With such a complex family tree, a question was admittedly raised, particularly with all things considered - Circe was Silara's second daughter, all things considered. Her first daughter was someone Circe had briefly met before she had broken away, tried to cling to the Light instead of the Dark Side. Assumedly, this meant that Circe was first in line, as Silara's child in a way, to receive her inheritance with such. With the situation in the galaxy that had shaken everyone to their core, it was now time for Circe to rebuild - but perhaps the best way to do so was to work in concert with her mother, grow a real familiar bond. It wasn't every day that Circe ended up getting a new chance at life - especially considering the high level of disassociation from her prior identity that she had put forth as Vanessa Vantai each day she went to work for Emeritus Industries.

The Malachor V laboratory in question was fully functional, so too was the lab here on Circe's own private starship. That and the ritual chamber. Such was the situation as she stepped forward, cautiously giving Silara a tender and surprisingly loving embrace, as any daughter would give her mother. She stepped back, surveying the damage that the woman had sustained - her flesh was scarred, tormented by the malicious embrace of blades, both plasma and metal. Her arm was no longer there, replaced solely by what appeared to be nothing more than a mechanical facsimile, cold to the touch and lifeless. And her eyes... They had once been smooth jewels - now they were glazed over as though she were in a state of death.

"I've done whatever it is I best could to ensure I didn't disappoint you. Unlike Lisette, I like to consider myself a more loyal family member." Once again, she surveyed the damage to the woman's frame and figure. "Silara... What happened to you?"

Disappointment. It was what she had been feeling. Not with her situation - not with Alric - but with how she'd turned out. At one time she had planned every course of action she would take, every twist and every turn foreseen and accounted for. Yet in one fell swoop her entire world was ripped from her, just as she had worked against. It was the force, the insufferable, ignominious wretch that intertwined its careless fingers like threads through the hearts and souls of every last living and dead. It was the force that had, just previously, cut her off from the galaxy, and it was the force that dragged her down at the last moment where she and Graxin Rade fell in simultaneous defeat. She had always hated the part of it that she, and others, referred to as fate, and she had always worked towards a perfect symbiotic relationship with its darker side, hoping to coax it into submission. How quickly she had learned that there was no escape from its insufferable chains, that it took no lover and cared for no man but its own collective will. A fickle spirit, she deemed it, and yet she seemed alone in this vast galaxy, alone until she met a man that seemed to care less about everything and just a little bit about her. That seedling of affection grew into a thriving relationship, or at least a somewhat confusing one. Not as confusing as her relationship with her 'daughter', of course, but she had cut off their intimacy even before the time came to give Circe a new shape.

Perhaps the Sith Lord expected a straightforward answer, one of bloodshed and pain, of torture even. She had no such tales, for those did not matter to her - even the blindness had been just another blessing in disguise. She let out a cold, sharp, sigh, and wished she could look over the face of the clone of her most precious child - the child she lost. Perhaps it was why she kept the Sith Lord around, treating her like a pet, a child even. Not that she didn't care for the woman, she had her moments of usefulness - although those moments had became very brief after their one night stand with Circe's former body. The way Vanessa spoke to her was very much so like an obedient child, yet she was most certainly not one. Not to her, nor was she one in reality. In truth she had been desperate for a master to replace her deceased one, yet now that they stood in the same room she found that she no longer cared to learn much more - not under the tutelage of another. It was for that reason, nearly only for that reason, that she had simply disappeared for the longest time. She had eased into the corporate life, something Circe would likely be familiar with, but found success not in business - not yet - but in something she'd not quite expected. It had came without her looking for it, and in fact she had no need or want for it at the time that it arrived. Something had sparked, what it was she didn't know, but from the day she met the Titan onward her life changed dramatically. How things had moved to what they were now, she could not fathom. She found herself questioning the progression of it all, although it still pleased her to no end. No, it was not a confusion - not in the traditional sense.

"I fell in love, Circe."

The disappointment that Silara felt echoed within Circe, and why not? Her past had hardly been pretty, and she bore the scars of death more than once. One could hardly wonder if perhaps she lost a part of herself every time a new body was transferred into, a new soul becoming part of the overarching coalescence that had once been Circe Savan. The Force had damned her both ways - she had been both crushed as its weight fell upon her, and dashed to pieces as she was thrown upon it. She once held a position of prestige in the legions of the Sith - now she pined her days away in a fickle disguise, having been heaped with the scorn and forced to drink from the cup of wrath during her days of judgement. And yet, while Silara's words ran through her mind like the ringing of a bell within a grand cathedral, still she chose to stay resolute - it was unlikely that her mother could see her in a haggard shape, though she still wielded some degree of influence.

"I'm... Happy for you, I suppose." There wasn't much else to say - congratulations were in order, and it was best forgotten. The more Circe lingered on it, the more it would harm her. "But not even love can explain your body's state... A machine arm? Eyes glazed in blindness?" She settled for a moment, pondering for a fraction over her comparison with Lisette. Their situation as sisters mirrored another pair, though curiously enough, Vanessa was the loyal, lab-produced one compared to her biologically crafted sister. It was almost sitcom worthy - but she hardly wished for any sort of attention like that to otherwise surround her. It was hard enough preserving her identity as it was.

"I have some things for you that should assist you in your recovery."
