DESCRIPTION
A vessel of chaotic design developed in 82 ABY, The Rat's Nest is the mobile home of the estranged Mandalorian Clan Claiborne, a vessel that has struck confusion into the hearts of many for nearly 900 years. Clan Claiborne adopted this ship as their home, and thus the capital ship has seen a great deal of repair, improvement, and modernization over it's centuries long time in service. Along side supporting board space for clan members, the vessel supports a formidable arsenal, as well as an industrial tractor beam for collecting salvage. Most notably, the spherical main body of the vessel makes it difficult to distinguish top from bottom, causing a great deal of confusion for those facing down the vessel in naval combat. It's kitted out with extremely high defenses and a great deal of fire power, but has sacrificed overall mobility and speed to receive such a gain. The Rat's Nest is locatable via mass detector and is susceptible to high-powered ion weaponry, and it's tractor beam is nowhere close to military grade, only capable of collecting a limited sized object. While it was housed in the Arkanis sector for a great deal of time following it's construction, the Rat's Nest has no home now, traveling from palace to place as Clan Claiborne sees fit, spreading chaos and confusion across the galaxy.
