TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Sithsword / Greatsword

  • Size: Large (6 ft blade & 2 ft hilt)

  • Weight: Very Heavy
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Dark Fury - The sword inherently has the effect of Force Rage apon it. Being near or more specifically a close proximity to the weapon will merely stir dark emotions to keep the mind on edge, but holding it? Those who wield the weapon become a host to the fears, anger, pain and hatred of souls trapped inside the sword itself. The blade continuously grows the negative emotions within and uses them to fuel the darkside of the force to produce and feed Force Rage. A perpetual cycle of Force Rage is the end result. This increases the wielders physical strength, speed, ferocity, mental response and reflexes significantly.

  • The Pods - Blister traps fused into the weapon stores the life force of the weapons victims. Those struck down by the weapon become trapped within the Blade and their knowledge is used as fuel to empower the user further. This also means the blade can harm and contain force ghosts, spirits and the user as well. Such power is not without cost.

  • Grim Intent - The Rancidus Edge is no simple blade. It is alive. Sentient. It is aware of who it bonds to literally. Those who use the blade accept the bond that is progressively forged in the mind. What the blade knows it will share with who it is with. This is a double edged sword though. Connecting the user to the pains, fears, anger and hatred of its trapped souls but also their knowledge as well. This is done by a six foot alchemical chain and clasp connected to the sword itself. Once the clasp is placed on the arm it cannot be removed from the body by conventional means. The clasp is cursed with Touch of the Kiin’dray. Least the wielder is "disarmed" or enters a force nullifying field the weapon will remain attached forever. Removing the Clasp ends the effect of Force Rage weakening the user and leaving some in a state of exhaustion, but all suffer from degraded mental response due to the sudden shift. If the wielder happens to die while still attached to the Rancidus Edge then their own life force will be taken into the blade and trapped within.

  • Alchemy - Its edge does not dull, grounds electricity, deflect blaster bolts, channel force abilities, fends off the strikes of a lightsaber and is practically indestructible by physical means.

Strengths

  • Grants the wielder a perpetual state of Force Rage when held. Significantly boosting their physical strength, speed, mental response, reflex and ferocity.

  • Resistant to strikes of a lightsaber and blaster bolts as well

  • Can ground electricity and redirect it

  • Able to channel the force through the blade and the swords edge never dulls.

  • Able to trap the life essence of its victims absorbing. (Cannot trap the life essence of a PC without Writers permission first)

  • Can damage and harm force ghosts

  • The Rancidus Edge is sentient and shares the knowledge of its victims with the user.
Weaknesses
  • Is physically and mentally bound to user its attached. One by chain and the other by a force bond. The sword cannot be removed once the clasp is connected. You must remove that arm to remove it or think outside the box.
  • Unable to throw the weapon far due to the chain connected around the wielders arm. Blade would only go an extra 6 feet anyway.
  • The Rancidus Edge is a drug. The more you use it the more you need it. The darkside twists the fears, pain and anger within and twirls it about the user. In time these memories and darker emotions blend with the users mental creating a illness of its own. Paranoia, hearing voices and progressive degradation of ones sanity is the price to pay.
  • Entering a Force nullifying field or Ysalamiri bubble with negative the effects the sword gives. It will be a normal sword once that happens. Void stones dampen the swords effects when in range.
  • If the wielder dies while the Rancidus Edge is connected. Their life essence will be trapped within the sword.
  • Letting go of the Rancidus Edge or disconnecting it will inflict exhaustion and a degraded mental response apon its current owner or user.
  • Infected with the darkside and gives of a faint fiery glow that can be sensed when not used. When wielded in hand the darkside screams its presence for all to hear. No sneaking around with this.

DESCRIPTION
Forged through Chaos itself or so it is believed. The origins of the Rancidus Edge is unknown. Originally a sword wielded by a cult of dark jedi long ago. The sword now resides in the hands of Kezeroth the Hateful after it was found within the Field of Blades within the nether realm itself. Apon Kezeroths return to the mortal plane, the Sith Lord took the Rancidus Edge for his own use and enjoying its rather heavenly enhancements. The Sword is quite large and equally heavy when considering who wields it. A cursed sithsword rumored to grant the wielder a perpetual state of Force Rage but at a cost. In order for this to happen you must first connect the clasp onto your arm or body to benefit from its effects. This choice was not considered too long after Kezeroths first encounter with the Greatsword. Clasping the metal band onto his arm the Gen'dai was surprised to notice that the clasp could not be removed and that it glew red stuck in place. A side from that voices that were not his own began to whisper into his mind. Memories and images unknown to him swirled around his inner psyche. The price of power. When not using the sword the giant feels mentally slower and slightly weaker. The "high" of Force Rage he has adapted all too well. Now he suffers.

Paranoid and plagued with audible hallucinations Kezeroth cycles through a journey of endless rage and pain each time he chooses to wield this accursed blade spiraling him closer and closer to a more intimate relationship with the darkside of the force. There is much that is still unknown to him about his new weapon. Its secrets must unlocked or insanity may be his fate once again.
