DESCRIPTION
Developed by the Corellian Engineering Corporation, the Radiant Phoenix is a custom model built for Arthur Arcturus. The courier turned smuggler had wanted a ship that could carry a significant amount of cargo while being fast. This meant that it had to reduce the capacity to 40 metric tons which is significantly smaller than your typical YT-class vessel. However, it made up for it in a Class 1.5 rated hyperdrive which is far faster than the stock models that are traditionally used in similar haulers. Compared to most ships in the YT lineup the Radiant Phoenix came with better defenses in the form of titanium armor. The titanium because of its higher strength-to-weight ratio resulting in stronger armor while reducing the weight which lends to an even faster ship. A bevy of sensor suites and electronic countermeasures, along with its complement of concussion missile launchers and laser autocannons give it the role of a gunship as well, although it can still be overwhelmed by better vessels in a dogfight. It served Arthur as a personal ship well until he died, and its ownership was transferred to his son Morgan.
