The Quiet and the Storm ~ Meeting a Jedi Master

[member="Matsu Ike"]

Form 4: Ataru.
One hand was fiddling with the lightsaber in her lap. The other propped her chin up as she watched the hologram go over the lightsaber forms practiced by force uses. Since recently getting into the Jedi Network and eventually finding her way here, Halyn spent all her time indulging in the Jedi arts. She found out she was force sensitive herself only several months ago. A memory she rather not look back at, the dark alley, the corner, her fear and rage.... She really only came out of this small private room to get a bite to eat here and there and use the refresher. Going over hologram after hologram, dedicated to the point of obsession; while Halyn never showed it, this was the most excited she had been in her entire life.

She was fine here, studying up day and night over the Jedi way. She almost never ate or even slept, taking so much time learning all the things a youngling apparently should. Alone and doing something she loved, it was no wonder she was so sucked in. The room was dark, and in Halyn's mind, cozy. Even the window was shut, the curtains closed. The only light in the room was the blue hologram she watched from the unrustled bed, completely indulged in the lesson as she chewed a piece of mint gum. Her hood completely covering her head, body wrapped in the cloak; azure eyes were glued to the lightsaber forms and how they functioned.

So far, Ataru was striking her as her favorite lightsaber form.

However, she had forgotten what day it was... Literally the date, time of week, and time itself she was oblivious of. With it being early in the morning; today being the day she met her official master slipped her mind. She was just doing what she did everyday, surviving off chewing gum as she indulged in her studies

The temple was important and Matsu had spent the majority of her time working on more things. The synthweaves the equipment it was all in a day for them to develop while reports from other facilities came. They were processing and refining the raw material into the components they needed while looking over other things. To work with it here for instance there was the robes for the different classes of jedi she wanted to develop and produce. The Guardian robes had been working out well, but those were designed for jedi who preferred combat and the skill that went with it. The idea of making robes for a sentinal in the same style and a consulor wa also on her mind with what they could include with it to improve upon the design. She was continuing to work while some fo the other sections came to her, namely the massive and impressive Saratai's feedback from Quiet. The ships were being launched while they showed the impervium ablative armor to produce new colonies. The silver bodies HRD came approaching her as Harmony spoke. "Master Ike we have been working and one of the students has not come out of their room in several days. Her classmates are worried about her." Matsu looked at the droid and gave a nod of her head whille she was leading the way towards the room as the jedi master clasped her hands behind her back.

... Vaapad...

*Ding ding*

The sudden interruption of her deep concentration, by someone at the door, caused her to slightly jump in fear. The sound was unexpected, and to make things worse she knew what came with this.

People.

Blue eyes glared at the dark door from across the room. Halyn had just finished going through Juyo, she was almost done! Couldn't this unwanted company wait until she was done, at least? Knowing that answering was the best thing to do though, she sighed to calm herself down and closed her eyes, relaxing even while the hologram continued. Reaching for the door from her bed, the girl concentrated as she used the force to push the button, opening the door.

The door swooshed open successfully.

With her room being so dark, however, it was hard to process the sudden light blaring through the door. When she opened her eyes, she recoiled drastically. Pulling her hand in front of her swiftly shut eyes again, she exclaimed wordlessly when her eyes failed to adapt for another several seconds. Karabast!

When she finally could see who was there, the girl was confused to see an unfamiliar face.

Matsu looked into the room as the door opened and starred for a moment at the padawan giving some of her attention to the room. It wasn't filled that much and it didn't seem to have a lot going for it. The new improvements they were doing the the temple though to bring some of the newest things as well as within the lake itself store the massive well one of the massive Saratai's under the surfave had proven very effective. it would give them a massive factory to use with the temple in the underground as well as a number of levels where they could have equipment and jedi being trained... Though the new modules also helped for their purposes to provide the students with a small home in their rooms should they choose to study for days or even weeks thinks to the recycling and food production. "I was told you haven't been coming out to see the other students. They have grown concerned padawan." matsu stepped in for a moment and looked at her and around. "I trust everything is okay? I know being underground all the time can be trying."

As always, wrapped up under her cloak and hood, Halyn cast a glance to the Jedi Master at her door. The blue hologram, the lightsaber records clearly in front of her, reflected off shadowed eyes. Coldly still for a moment, simply processing the words, she finally shrugged.

"I okay underground. Quiet in here. I'm studying; I learn easier by myself, without distractions."

She looked back at the hologram in front of her. Eyes slightly showing confusion, she continued. "I'm fine, it's just loud outside. That's all. But... She glanced back at the brunette master, "Shien. Djem So. Both are form five? Vapaad and Juyo seem far from the same. Why? If I learn Juyo, what of Vapaad?"

She wasn't going to learn vaapad, most thought it was just an extension of Juyo and it was a lot more. Even masters needed to be careful with learning or using such a skill... A padawan hadn't been done since one of the jedi knights taught his padawan and then abandoned the republic and left her emotionally damaged since she didn't know what she was doing. "Vaapad is something very few in the order will ever be taught, it is a strong technique, it is powerful but it is not something that can be learned by a padawan. I would recommend staying away from juyo as well as it is a dangerous form to learn." She stayed there for a moment though looking at the girl and going near her. "As for Shien and Djem so they are for different purposes. Djem so works far better against saber wielders while the traditional shein is great against blasters and sabers."

Starting to become wary as the master came closer, Halyn pulled her arms under her cloak and started squeezing them together. While she did not make eye contact, she turned her head towards the teacher's direction. Considering the words, she replied, "Form five sounds well balanced enough. Might pick it up. Ataru looks good too, with unarmed stuffs involved."

Okay, with that question answered, I'm completely fine now. It would be great if she left now. Okay, so Juyo sounds fun and aggressive, but the suppose it could wait until I get better at this Jedi-ing stuff. If I get an official master or something. I've got a long ways to go, but the love this! Yeah! Vanquishing evil! - Wait, the teacher is still here? Why? I'm good now, can't she leave? Do I always have to say things or whatnot to get myself across? Nobody gets me. Eh, don't want to be disrespectful, I just got here. Maybe she wants something else from me?

While one hand switched to fiddling with the fabric of her cloak instead, the other hand reached out and tapped the holopad until Form Four showed up. Seemingly locking inside herself again, the girl watched the silent screen again as she spoke, "Thanks. I'm good. Need anything, Master? I can do it." Ha! Nu-uh!

Matsu looked at her with a look on her face trying to set up and see what the padawan could do but.... that failed miserably. she was far to involved in being broody.... though at least she wasn't going on about how the darkside was strong and only a true jedi could use bot the light and the dark to be a bridge like they were. "Well I was hoping you would come and socialize with. You are part of the order and a larger community." Matsu looked at her providing a small smile before she stood there offering a hand. "it won't be so bad and then you can come back here afterwards and be all broody teenager angst ridden." She remained there watching it and motioned the droids off while she. "Plus you'll never learn about the force or saber forms from a book you need to try them out."

Broody? Angsty? Halyn wasn't exactly sure those words fit her. "Escape artist" or "fearful" defined her far better. She was not mindlessly brooding, but rather studying up for the years ahead. None the less, a kinesthetic learner, she realized that she actually needed to learn her preferred lightsaber first hand.

With that thought in mind, she turned off the hologram. Reaching beneath her cloak, she pulled out two objects. One was her lightsaber; a standard hilt with a blue kyber crystal. Between the blade emitter and nob, the weapon was wrapped in leather. The other object was a durasteel mask. It had a black visor to shield the eyes, and the rest of the mask was milk white (while it has various scratches and small dents, hinting years of use.)

The teen turned her attention to the Jedi Master, only a small sentence came from her mouth. "Form Five. You know it?"

Matsu looke at her and there was a small debate on how to answer that question. she could be cool and casual, sagey and full of knowledge like while asking a question to the padawan to make her frustrasted and wonder if she did know the form or not.... No that wasn't really her style while she sat there. "Yes i do know it as well as the other forms. One of the benefits of being a master and making this temple is that it was designed to train in all of the sills you just need to know how to use it." A small smile on her face while she was working on a few ideas and thanks to Morse and Cynna in the Rift they were learning how to get training worked on human biodroids that would provide them with a lot more work and impressive aspects. "If you can come out and enjoy the time there is a chance you might be able to learn it for yourself. Of course you would need a master, someone who understands the wanting to be left alone. I used to be like that when I was younger and it took a very special person to get me out of my shell."

The lightsaber hilt lightly rolled as she let go of it, reaching for her mask and tapping it to relieve the incoming stress. Going outside? How overwhelming could that be? A lot. However, once again, her quest to become a warrior of justice, an upholder for peace against the restless, was enough to make her shutter. As a visible shiver ran down her bony back, Halyn looked down at the mask as she toyed with it.

She spoke softly, her voice hinting at her solid fear, "As long as it's quiet? Loud noises too much..."

With that being said, she slipped off the bed. She nabbed her saber and placed both that and her mask on her belt. With the cloak hanging behind her, her black clothes were visible - barely hanging off what was nothing but skin and bones. As she grabbed a side of her cloak with an awkward hand, pulling the protective security blanket over her again, she used the other hand to turn off the hologram. "Let's go."

Matsu looked at the girl offering her a small look and grin even while she was moving to head outside from the temple. There was a number of things that they would be able to go and do that were quiet for the most part. Just depended on what your definition of quiet was and if you could handle some of the crazy that went with it before the jedi master was walking and leading the way through the stone carved pathways to the lift that was going up the the surface. Where the blossom trees and lake were serene looking with most of the jedi underground working on different things. Matsu walked motionin for the girl to be able to come with her for a small walk among the trees. "Ah isn't it beautiful out here."
