Strengths:
Concealable: Due to the reflec outer layer of the weapon, this gun can be smuggled into places where it's unwanted.
Hand... turret?: When compared to other blasters its size, the Pale Rider sports an uncommonly high rate of fire. This allows for the wielder to surprise opponents with a steady stream of energy.
Rapid Reload: Power cells eject at an alarming rate and can be quickly shoved into place to continue right where the user left off.
Overcharge: The blaster can recharge its power while still firing, which means it can fire until the cell in use is depleted.
Weaknesses:
Power Hungry: Because it tears through power cells, the user should keep a healthy amount of them on hand when planning to use this weapon.
Overheating: While the framework of the weapon is engineered to be extremely durable and resilient to heat, the components are subject to melting and warping if usage is prolonged. Combat with this weapon is not recommended for more than brief interactions. Lengthy engagements would be better served by something else.
High speed, low power: Because of the immense rate of fire, the weapon compensates by using low power for each shot. This means that armored opponents are relatively safe against it, though the heat of concentrated fire could potentially cause burns to someone covered in metal. It has zero piercing power.
Specialized upkeep: Due to the specialized components, the weapon has to be repaired specially by it's creator. This process is lengthy, and as such, if it is damaged, it cannot be used until Alkor has serviced it.
Mosquito bites: Wounds inflicted by this weapon are painful, but alone not lethal. It takes multiple shots to kill a target- easily achieved in theory, difficult in practice. It is not a weapon for an unskilled user.
DESCRIPTION
When Alkor entered Irons' competition, he did so with his pride on the line.
An Echani smith was the ultimate rival for a Mandalorian smith, their cultures long standing in their contempt for one another. The prospect of trying his hand against someone like that gave Alkor inspiration- he proposed to Irons that each of them would craft a special weapon for the other, and the better of the two could have bragging rights. While it seemed small and petty, neither man denied that the idea was appealing.
Alkor could craft his own weaponry, but something created by someone who's culture exonerated the art was something worth investing in. With that in mind, he asked the other man what he wanted. Be it blade or firearm, he placed no restrictions on what could be requested.
Like Alkor, Shaun was a Hunter. His skills lay in seeking out enemies, and to that end, he sought a weapon that could serve him well at a distance. Alkor acquiesced, and within hours of their agreement, he set to work. Schematics littered the floor around his desk as he sketched and re-sketched ideas, until finally he had it. A weapon suitable for those situations where he was after a target and under fire.
He designed the blaster much like a holdout, with discretion in mind. Using reflec for the outer shell, it could baffle sensors and be taken into even the heart of a Hutt stronghold. In contrast to the extreme stopping power of a holdout, however, Alkor bestowed the weapon with the ability to hold a line- all on its own.
With blindingly fast reload and rate of fire, the Pale Rider is every centimeter a Mandalorian weapon, created by a tactical mind, for situations where the user had to think on their feet.
The only drawback was that only Alkor could repair it if anything happened- which, he hoped, Shaun would not allow.
