:: Outer Rim Imperium ::
"Let it be known that no one defies the O.R.I."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to a shifting change in the faction to follow with the ideals and idea of its replacing of the defunct Fringe Confederacy, and its attempt to capitalize on the weakening of the Omega Protectorate, the Terminus Imperium has undergone a minor name change and location change.
Doing away with the fringe located Terminus System (and the headache that came with it) the faction has shifted its focus to the more centralized located Lanteeb within the Southern Expanse of the Outer Rim Territories.
With this also came a named change, shifting from the Terminus Imperium to...
The O.R.I.
or
The Outer Rim Imperium
The Faction itself remains the same beyond the location change and name change.

The Faction's interest still remain the same. The possibility of Kesh falling into the Dominion of the Imperium depends on if it can gather enough followers, and if it can grow to the point of being able to bring it into the fold.
The location and name change were to reflect upon the ideas present in the faction and give it a more centralized location, that was felt to be within an equidistance to many of the possible minor factions in the area.

While the Outer Rim Imperium is focused on military and minor factions, there is always room for a politician. Why not join? Even if you were not to desire a System Lord rank, you could always serve in the capacity as an Under Lord; the position of which is usually filled by Politicians and Bureaucrats.

Interesting as in what to be precise? Is this an offer that the Imperial Remnant would desire to join the Outer Rim Imperium? Although I do seem to remember another Imperial Remnant hanging around on the site. Would this be Garvan's Imperial Remnant or would it be the other?

I will be honest with you. Reading some of your work and the efforts you have put into your Imperium was part of my inspiration to get into the game of empires. But lets be truthful, there has been many imperiums on this site and they have all failed for some reason or another. Even the Imperial Remnant was circling the drain. What I am proposing is that we combine our efforts and form a Galactic Empire. I would think such would far better suit out imperial needs and muses instead of being divided and struggling against each other.

While I understand where you're coming from, there is a slight problem.
The Outer Rim Imperium has nothing to do with the Galactic Empire. It was not inspired by it, nor was there any desire or thought of having it be so during its initial creation to become another Palpatine style Galactic Empire.
The Outer Rim Imperium is inspired by and takes much of its structure from the Goa'uld Empire from the Stargate franchise. This is why it is a Kratocracy, and it is designed with that ideal in mind. It is set up so that it can work as a Major Faction of Minor Factions. This is to allow for smaller groups of members to Dominion or Invade worlds at their own pace, and expand their own power. This means that it would allow members to not have to wait for multiple Faction members to post, allowing for more posting freedom.
To this end, the head title of Supreme System Lord is more or less a figurehead meant to keep everything together (which seeking their own goals and extending their own power). This faction has nothing to do with the Galactic Empire of old (which considering the current timeline of the site, should be left to the grave).
I feel that there has been too many Factions looking back to the factions seen in the Old Republic Era and Imperial Era, with too little focus on new faction ideas. I can see the site having a Republic or Republic analog. I could see there being a Sith Empire or Sith analog, same goes for the Mandalorians. Though I've seen too many times on this site where a fresh idea for a Faction get buried with little interaction because everyone flocks to the newest CIS iteration that has a new coat of paint. I want to see original Faction ideas flourish for once.
Long explanation short. I can not, and will not have the Outer Rim Imperium merge to form a new Galactic Empire.

[member="Tasgetius Blackwood"] I respect your answer. Was worth a shot. This is not a door being closed, if for what ever reason such does not work out I will always have a place for you in our empire. Best of luck to you, Sir!

I love your ideas, but I'm not a good fit as I fight for the other side. But I'm sure we'll run into eachother in an upcoming thread ;)

From what I've seen this site prides itself on allowing complete and total freedom for it's Role-Players. While that's a very very good thing at an individual level, it can make things hard on a larger scale. People all have their own ambitions, both OOCly and ICly, and it is often hard for them to give up their way of things to accommodate others even at the sake of the greater story. When you have a faction like the ORI with a set goal and directive that mirrors that of another faction things always get a little heated. So the question we end up having to ask ourselves is how to settle the problem amicably and in a way that favors both sides.

In my years of Role-Playing I can honestly say, when in doubt let IC set the course of things. Sure, it's nice and dandy to work things out OOCly beforehand, but IC development can never lead you astray. Instead of yourself and the Remnants trying to recruit people OOCly why not set up threads with each individual faction you wish to merge with and see how things turn out rather than trying to hurry things along?

None of this is meant as a slight towards you, but rather just friendly advice. I'm still hoping you prosper over the empires out there just to give the galaxy something new!

I swear we were young and needed the money....
Comedy aside, it was just a pleasant happenstance that the acronym of the faction turned out to be O.R.I.

I understand. If you should chose to change factions in the future, just keep us in mind. I'm sure we could find a place for you.

If you've noticed, that is what I've been working on. I merely made a simple observation that time and time again, old factions continue to pop up and seem to draw more attention to them than those with a more unique setting. I have nothing against the Imperial Remnants; they can go off and do their own thing. I am not focusing on them, and I merely decided that it was in the best interest of the Outer Rim Imperium to not lose itself and its unique structure by merging it with the Imperial Remnant.
I have always planned to have the O.R.I. recruiting IC as well as OOC.

Haha, no doubt I'd get in your hair too much. I'm a goody two-shoes, so I'd probably be a thorn in your side ;)

I have no characters that would fit into an Imperial faction unless brought in by way of development, otherwise this looks interesting from an outside perspective. Am not one to make characters to write into factions, though.

The way the faction is designed, is so that those of multiple backgrounds (in terms of characters) and how they work can be together. This means that a faction of "goody two-shoes" can exist next to a "kill em all" style minor faction within the Outer Rim Imperium and still have just as much if not more power than the other and vice versa. It's meant to allow smaller Minor Factions to work on their own projects without their threads becoming bogged down with the wait of a larger number of Faction members to post.
So you would be as welcomed as a Sith, or a renegade Jedi; a Crime Lord or a Law Enforcement style character.

I tried to keep the faction a bit away from an Empire; however there are still bits of an Empire feel in the Faction.
You would be more than welcomed to join us (be it with a character directly made for the faction or otherwise recruiting an established character into the faction).
I understand though your position. If you decide to join, the more the merrier. If not, I still hope that there can be some interaction between our characters.
