The Outer Rim House Hunter's Show Episode 2: Mandalorian fleeter

Ugohr Poof

The Traveling Gungan Salesman
"What makes special episodes of the Outer Rim's House Hunter Show special is not so much the property being showcased, or even the choices participants have to make, but the participants themselves. Battleon Town News know that people who acquired fame one way or another would be welcomed here from time to time" Katherine said on the drone camera.

Because Ugohr was officially confined to quarters on Chandrila, temporarily relieved of command, Ugohr was forced to shoot the next special episode in a holoconference mode. In normal episodes, Katherine Vaygr would pick among the staff realtors on location; here she would just fall back on Ugohr even though his knowledge of properties in Mandalorian space is quite limited. But he was given the list of two properties for today's show: a townhome on the outskirts of Harnaidan on Muunilinst or a villa on Toprawa, although not quite as big as the castle on Malastare, which is now IGR's property and used as a datacenter. It had to be close to Mandalorian space given that today's partcipant is, well, Mandalorian. For 300,000 credits, as with last time, would he bite at either offer? It often seems that the larger property is often a foreclosed one on that show.

"Su'cuy gar, but because mesa confined to quarters on Chandrila, mesa forced to use holoconference. Oursa participant for today issa alor'ad in a Mandalorian clan, [member="Titan Kryze"]!"

"Please welcome the Outer Rim House Hunter's Show's host, Katherine Vaygr!"

"Today, yousa have to choose between a towhnouse on Muunilinst, 150 square meters of internal living space, or a villa on an one-acre plot on Toprawa"

Titan walked onto the stage, he had entered on a bet, he hadn't actually expected to get onto the show. But whatever, he would just have to roll with it. Titan took a deep breath before talking, "Just one question, I heard that someone died on the show, is that true?" TItan rubbed his hands together while waiting for an answer. He wondered if the people in charge of the show thought that if they brought him onto the show, that they would gain the sponsor ship of his various companies. They wouldn't, well actually, you know what. After this episode, Titan would check the numbers, and if the number of viewers was high enough, TItan might apply for a commercial or two...

"Da last host died on Ruusan while hesa visiten one of da properties. Hesa died during taping"

"Ultimately, when the last host died, we ultimately decided not to feature any property from Ruusan until the battle subsided, and the show was put on hold until we could find a new one" Katherine said.

Ugohr then proceeds to learn more about the properties on the fly. He never visited the properties, so he couldn't talk about the properties at length as he did during the first special episode he appeared in. Ultimately IGR decided to make the and the Elrood property was awarded to another contestant in another episode he didn't appear. For Battleon Town News, the Gungan-owned producer based on Ringo Vinda, a special episode was deemed as such if a player-character was appearing as the contestant. Of course, the notion of player-characters being foreign to BTN (but not to CKS, IGR Brokerage), the executives talked about VIPs instead. They are not always happy, but the highest value bracket of the show is "7 300,000. BTN tends to systematically place VIPs in the topmost bracket, thinking that they could bring in more viewers with higher-priced properties in VIP hands.

"We'll talk about the pros and cons of each property soon. The time is not ripe for you to make a decision"

"Okay, good." Titan responded, "So, um, do we go to the properties or just talk about them?" Titan knew that just talking about them wouldn't be as good as actually seeing them, but would take less time. Of course this wasn't the first episode of the show, but Titan had never watched it at all. So he had no knowledge of the procedure's at all. To be honest all he really wanted was a place to work on his pod, a bed, a command center, and a really, really, big garage for his Adjudicator. Well the latter one was negotiable.

"Mesa feel that yousa more drawn to da Toprawa property. Yousa would probably want to visit da villa on Toprawa. Katherine will do it in mesa stead because mesa unable to. Hesa wants a place to work on hisen pod, a bed, a command center"

"He appears to be exercising his option of visiting"

After shooting a tank round on the main lobby of an agricultural facility in a hostage rescue on Chandrila, he's stuck on Chandrila until he actually stands trial. Toprawa was closer to the several studios used by the Outer Rim House Hunter's Show; the closest one to Mandalorian territory being Ringo Vinda. The trick is that taping isn't done live. Broadcasting on a weekly schedule meant that Katherine was flying around the galaxy and she was grateful for the Neimoidian Yacht she had. Katherine prepared the equipment to tape the show on Toprawa and Muunilinst, so that the showings can be used for taping. So she brought the camera drone backstage, and she stood while the rest of the taping equipment is being loaded. Katherine used frame-accurate video editing equipment for this. She was ready to depart; all that she had to do was to wait for Titan, knowing that the last VIP participant chose not to exercise his option of visit before being taken away.

"Come, Titan. You will visit the Toprawa property first, because it's the closer of the two from here"

"Okay, how will we get there." Titan asked, he was due for the opening of Kalevala Crystals and Sabers new and improved store on Commenor later that week and he had heard rumors of how long it took to film the show. "And that's really what I want its almost like you can read my mind..." Titan thought about for a minuete before remembering that he had listed his preferences on his application for the show. It was one of the few parts he had taken serriously, well that and his name, plus did they really think he was stupid enough to put his social security number in the optional section for it?

"Now, come, Titan, I have a ship for myself waiting at the back of the studio. In three or four hours you will have toured the Toprawa villa and you can go back to your regular activities" Katherine told Titan.

Not realizing that, in fact, he was on Ringo Vinda to oversee the beginning of the construction of the first arcology that Ringovinda StarYards ended up buying in exchange for CKS getting a set of hyperdrive-capable slipways. Ugohr was one of the best in the Alliance's roster to read other people's minds, even being able to detect that some crazy Zeltron (or Omwati, Umbaran or even Mikan) was on and about, eating sentients, where she normally not get that feeling across. But he is inconsistent in his ability to use the skill. At the time, Ugohr didn't want the Gungan owners of the properties in Rellias, back on Naboo, to be eaten by a prospective buyer but he had no use for anything else in her mind back then. Even in holoconference mode Katherine would still hear Ugohr just fine, despite the fact that Ugohr's holoconference unit was not always in its best behavior. He sometimes cursed it... but to Titan it was a detail that didn't matter as he boarded Katherine's ship, piloted by a RX unit.

"You must realize that Ugohr, our special guest realtor, is a Jedi Brute with some skill at reading others' minds"

"Yousa have a good trip to Toprawa!"

"Well doesn't that clear nothing up." Titan muttered, he pulled out his datapad and started typing up the ad for the soon to be opened Kalevala Crystals and Sabers, waiting to arrive on Topawa." Once they arrived he walked out into the spaceport and found the right speeder which would take him to the property.

Once Katherine's speeder enters the property being advertised in the soon-to-be-broadcast show, the camera drone enters the location, in front of the show host. Hopefully Toprawa won't prove to be the same as Ruusan, where the Silver Sanctum's armies attacked the Sith Triumvirate's capital and killed the last host in the crossfire. But Katherine enters the property through its front garage, which had no lock mechanisms at all. Large enough for a Plug-3 Leviathan podracer, but since the last owner already moved away, the garage is empty, and heck the whole villa, of which the photo below is taken opposite the garage.

"As you see, the garage is large enough for one Plug-3 Leviathan podracer, which is one of the largest in the galaxy. It even comprises six bedrooms, some of which can be merged together for another purpose, like the command center. You even have a pool at the opposite end of the villa!"

Titan looked at the massive garage he could make some modifications to it and have it able to house a few speeders as well as his pod. "Is there some where I can land my ship?" Titan asked, he was looking to procure a YT-1300 and wanted to know whether or not he could land it at the villia. After all, he wasn't really one for public transport. "That's one big pool." Was all Titan saif when he saw the building's pool.

"The pool can be covered, not only to prevent contaminants from entering the water when not in use as a pool, but also so that it can serve as a landing pad. You have seen the size of the pool, it seems large enough to land a rather wide array of light freighters if you have to take in account the poolside area. This villa on Toprawa has so many amenities the Muunilinst townhouse just cannot have"

And it turned out to be about the same size (in terms of internal space) as the castle on Malastare IGR now owns but that was featured in the very episode where the castle on Malastare was shown. Ugohr seemed to be pleased with the castle but time was short, and Katherine would talk about the history of that property once she returns on Ringo Vinda, or even record the stuff on the way back to Ringo Vinda. Plus with CKS, and Kalevala Crystals, in full swing Titan would not need to worry about the upkeep of the Toprawa villa.

"Nice." Titan said, glancing around, there was a decently sized game room, a fairly large mess hall, a small firing range, and work out facilities as well as a yard big enough to do drills on. A excellent property. "So are we goig to the other property as well?" Titan asked, this vila was quite large, but Titan could sell some of the fancier stuff in it that he didn't need. After all, Titan didn't want a fancy house. Rather a practical one.

"Before you make the decision to visit the second property, let me tell you a few things: the Muunilinst townhouse WILL feel a lot more cramped compared to this one and, as such, its garage won't be large enough for a podracer, let alone a Plug-3 Leviathan, it will feature only 200 square meters of internal space, which might net you the necessities but the plot is too small for you to land a private ship on it even if it was vacant" Katherine warned Titan at that stage.

Ugohr was watching the whole scene being played out in the Force; all he could do while confined to quarters on Chandrila was to talk about real estate and use Force-vision. Now, he knows better than to use the Force for stuff like holoporn or other such things, but he feels as if Katherine et al, heck the Force itself, were pushing Titan towards taking the Toprawa villa.

"Really? But the other one will be a lot more affordable than this one." TItan replied, just because he owned multiple corporate ventures didn't mean he wanted to live extravegantly. Extravagance costed a lot of money, and Titan didn't want to have to file for bankruptcy. That would be a pain in the neck. A very big one.

"Now that you mention it, cost of ownership will be a lot higher with that one but the selling price of both properties were the same before we got these properties: 300,000 credits. That might be a lot of credits, just that, for a Muunilinst resident with a private light freighter, one better hope to have a slot at a landing bay, costing about 50 credits a day. Battleon Town News assumes no responsibility about what you do with the property after the choice is made, so you can sell or lease the superfluous equipment after the fact if you feel it so"

Toprawa is a planet where properties have very little value in comparison to Muunilinst, but Katherine interpreted it as a sign of Titan visiting Muunilinst. In which case Katherine brought Titan back to Katherine's ship, preparing it to go to Muunilinst, while leaving the Toprawa mansion behind.

"I'm preety sure I might be able to buy a landing bay, and expand the garage with some money." TItan remarked, he reviewed some work on the way to Muunilinist. Stuff for buissness and the such one of his friends had given him a company and he was currently occupied in auctioning it off. He had just finished checking the bids when they arrived.

"A command center as I usually hear about them, with an automated kitchen in it, will, along with one bedroom and one bathroom, take up nearly all of the 200 sq. meters of internal space. You will see for yourself how exactly all the space will be taken up. Usually young Muun professionals buy these properties, as well as off-worlder trust-fund boys and girls. They may be ideal for the typical Muun family but you have shown what your particular needs were. The basement garage is large enough for one speeder"

Titan would want to buy a landing pad for his private ship. Such items cost, on Muunilinst, at least 125,000 credits if he wanted to buy the thing away from the major cities of the planet. Good luck finding such a thing within 40 km of Harnaidan.

Some excavation and renovation would be perfect. Titan favored the townhouse over the vila, simply for its location on a major banking world and for a few other reasons as well. It was a bit more private, and he could expand when he wished rather than not having that option. "I like the fact that it's built into the mountainside rather than on the ground, that way if I want to expand I can just but more of the mountain." He remarked.

"Do you feel you're ready to make a choice?" Katherine asked.

Ugohr couldn't tell anymore which way would Titan lean in this whole deal. He was tempted to say The Outer Rim House Hunter's Show issa brought to yousa by IGR Brokerage, but he knew he needed the actual decision before actually saying it in studio.

"I think I am." Titan responded, he knew in the broadcasted version of the show they would cut to commercials as soon as he said 'I choose' and then replay the words but plus his choice. "I choose the Muunilist town house. I'm not going to be here all the time. I'm a Mando and the VP of Commenor so its fine that it isn't too big." Titan wondered what the viewers reactions would be.
