Armed.
His hands remained fast by her sides, it was a good thing too as both Sammy and the young Jedi - Cas - kept going at it, despite Mathieu slowly pulling her further away and Zemira doing her part to hopefully restrain the learner, if not physically perhaps mentally. "We're getting a little outnumbered here" he said with a low voice, only for Sammy to hear. The Morellian's eyes darted between the girl he held, the foul mouthed jedi, his mate Zemira - it was a godsend that she was here - and the newly arrived white-haired one, also from the jedi ship.
An awkward smile appeared on the Mercenaries lips as Sammy took the bag and picked out a sandwich from it before sending it onto Cas. It was probably for the best that she also got something to eat. In the best case scenario, it would calm both of them down. "Just make sure the chew properly" he announced, throwing a glance at both of the hot-heads, hopping that maybe his comment could work to dissolve tensions a little.
Zemira spoke, curious about his traveling mate. Just as he was about to open his mouth to answer, Sammy cut in and started replying for him. Yet another awkward smile was produced as he looked onto the others whilst she spoke. "But not from us! Right? Yeah, not from us" whilst still stable and friendly, Mathieu's words carried a sense of nervousness as he had no interest in making his Jedi friend cross at him, not provoking the other two more than necessary. What further enhanced it was Sammy's mood - but then, maybe it would be better if she turned on him rather than keep slugging away at the others.
"Sure" he said, suspecting that her going back to the ship to cool down might be for the best. "I'll, uh, keep the peace when you're away" he joked before turning back to the others "So, I'm Mathieu" His tone almost sounded relived as he took a step forth and stretched out a hand, first to shake Cas' hand, and then the newly arrived one's.
The pleasantries wouldn't last for long, however, as a young woman with a rather odd appearance appeared out of nowhere. Maybe she was a local, or some kind of Sith - but then, she didn't seem sinister in the same way Mathieu had always thought of them. Slowly, an unassuming "Hi" escaped his lips as his eyes fixed on the new person. Suddenly, he saw an enormous spider appear, shortly followed by a shout from Sammy a bit away. The large beast stood behind the girl, revealing it's fangs as both frontal legs soared upwards - just as if it was about to bite her head off. Perhaps his heavy armour would be good for more than surviving Sammy's piloting after all. With that, he slowly started inching closer to the girl, one hand stretched out towards her with the other resting on the hilt of his vibrosword which was still sitting at his belt. "You've got a large spider behind you" he whispered, hoping that he could snatch her away from the creature and saving her from a horrid death.
