OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION

[*]Affiliation:

[*]Crew Complement: Lightly Manned and Heavily Automated
[*]Notable Crewmembers: Hush Sarad
[*]Accessibility: Pretty accessible. After a quick security scan most ships are allowed to dock for light trade or rest/refueling if they need it.
[*]Description: The Orga Sarad is one of few Mandalorian battlecruisers in service to House Skirata of Mandalore. While still technically combat ready, the battlecruiser is used mostly as Clan Sarad's home, housing the main clan leadership as well as training facilities for Mandalorian youth. Not technically a Mandalorian Imperial academy or other military school, many Mandalorians came to the ship to learn from Clan Sarad in zero-gravity combat as well as high-g combat on bes'uliik war droids. The battlecruiser like many of the Legacy line had powerful broadsides and advanced slave circuitry to keep the ship afloat with a skeleton crew. On rare occasions it has been called into combat by House Skirata and even the Mand'alor and is one of the oldest ships in service to the Mandalorian Empire, its sheer presence alone able to ward off pirates from entire star systems.
INTERNAL DEFENSES
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Main Hangar: The main dorsal hangar. Designed similarly to the Venators of old a section of the hull opens up which allowed for massive amounts of fighters to be released at once. It was also used as the main hangar for visitors and as such some members of Clan Sarad had set up small shopping kiosks along the edges of the hangar.
  • Training Facility: Sectioned off from the rest of the ship, the Training Facility was an entire deck dedicated to training the next generation of Sarad Mandalorians. Turbolaser and other weapon simulators were present here along with flight sims and shooting ranges. Two tactical courses were also present and were used to for both zero-g and gravity combat training with the gravity chamber able to be set to higher levels or lower/higher atmosphere for intense training and simulation of high atmosphere environments.
  • Deck 4 Mess Hall: Also known simply as "the bar", Deck 4's mess hall was one of two places on the ship where one could drink alcohol. It was known for its Ironweed mead which was strangely one of the best places on Mandalore (When it was in orbit) to drink the unique tasting mead.
  • Observation Deck: Originally one of the flight control towers the deck was modified into a lounge and observation deck. It was noteable for being one of two places on board where one could purchase alcohol. The large windows would be shuttered with beskar blast shutters in combat.

SECURITY
High: The Orga Sarad was utilized and treated as a military base by Clan Sarad and House Skirata. As such a squadron of starfighters is always on patrol or escort duty around the ship. As far as internal defenses, several armories were strategically placed throughout the ship in case of boarding actions. Automated laser turrets and integrated barricades and cover supported the armed security personnel on board.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Given to Clan Sarad over one hundred years ago for their service in the Vong-Mandalorian War and their continued loyalty to House Skirata, the Orga Sarad was named after the Mandalorian orphan who gave their life to protect the first would be head of Clan Sarad. A close friend and rumored first love of Var Orga would live on in the spirit of the battlecruiser as the protector of Clan Sarad's future. The ship would be used throughout the Pirate Wars and eventually would be brought out of military service by Clan Sarad. The ship, though it had an incredibly long service life, would go on to serve Clan Sarad as a military training facility specializing in starfighter combat, zero-G operations, and bes'uliik use in the vacuum. When Mandalore became unlivable due to the actions of Mia Monroe and Ijaat Mereel, the ship became a life ship for thousands of Mandalorians. The ship would be pulled back into service by then House Alor Dorn Skirata and would play a key role in the sacking of MandalMotors' original orbital array. However after Gilamar retook control of the House the ship returned to its original duties as a place of learning and potential safety for Mandalorians of House Skirata.
