"Captain, we have been waiting out here for days. You are sure people still use this trade route?"
"Of course they do! We just have to wait a little longer...just...a while longer."

For the first time in months, the crew was getting restless. With the recent purchase of the Solo II Combat Freighter a few days ago, they been wanting to test out the new features along with hopefully scoring some large heists. With the help of some old, which by definition being hundreds of years, trade route hyperspace routes which hopefully one would stop here. The Zabrak would lean back into his seat, yawning rather loudly as some of the crew followed suit as there was a weird moaning noise as he turned off part of engineering section. "Rabbits...good grief." Almost as if those were the magic words, suddenly the subspace scanners would go haywire as people jumped station...some literally as there was a scramble of people messing with their consoles.

"Subspace signals! Approaching from hyperspace! T-Minus Three Minutes!"
"This is it people, this is it! Everyone to their stations! I repeat, all to your stations! That includes you two in engineering! Like we rehearsed people! Send the communications to the other ship!"

Several Minutes Later
Coming out of hyperspace first was three light freighters, the 3-Z Light Freighter, the YU-410 Light Freighter, and the ZH-25 Questor-class Freighter as they would spread out upon running into the Marauder Corvette "Reborn" head first. The ZZ-class Freighter would come next as it almost veered to a sturdy halt with the Twin Action VI Bulk Freighters coming in last as they would spread to the sides, as if making some form of defensive stature. There was a communications frequency as they were attempting to hail the lone Marauder as the communications opened up as there was a static noise.

"This is the M-Krhzzzz Re-Khrzzzzz, we are currently Khrrzzzzzz. Please respond."
"This is Transporter Group Orion, we are attempting to get past. Are you in need of some assistance?"
"This is Krhhzzzzz...yes you see we Krhhhzzzz....want your ships. Bahahahah! Oh come on how come that is the oldest trick and people still fall for it!"

In the "Reborn", Captain Gaki was holding his hand over his own mouth to stop himself from laughing to hard, having made most of the sounds of failing communications with just some hand holding on his own mouth. The ships in front would soon try to disperse around him and start to open fire as it would not even attempt to dent the shields in front of the Marauder as it returned fire onto the one of the Action VIs. "Beta and Charlie, you are up!" There was a loud whine from below as the starfighters pulled out from the hanger bay of the "Reborn" and started to engage with the light freighters, using mainly ion weapons whenever possible as there was four to each one. Leaning forward, he knew he had to wait for the Solo II to cover the flank as it had to jump through hyperspace at the right moment. There was a turbolaser not going off on the Marauder, as usual, someone probably missed their cue as he made a loud noise through each of the turbolaser stations that resembled an airhorn and finally, the other turbolaser would begin to fire. They were horrible at accuracy as they kept on missing, it was almost embarressing to watch as the starfighter squadrons started to fire on their respective targets, grazing their shields all but the last squadron whom broke through and damaged part of the ZH-25 Questor-class Freighter. However during their evasive maneuvers, one of the starfighters went straight into one of the laser cannons arcs and was destroyed straight at the cockpit with a fiery explosion from the L-Z light Freighter. "This is Beta 1! Beta 1-3 has been killed!" It was almost pandemonium of chaos, as if they were not clearly ready for this as the second salvo started to occur, firing directly at the Action VI again with turbolasers which finally they hit their mark up front as there was a shattering of durasteel in front as parts of it was blown apart.

While the Action VI first twin was being partly destroyed by turbolaser fire, the three squadrons did their best to mitigate to distract and attempt to disable any light freighters before them. Beta 1 was unable to fire upon the 3-Z Light Freighter, apparently being much better than what they were expecting while Beta 2 and 3 respective targets suffered light to medium damage. As the three light freighters seemed to get an edge, almost as if suddenly by some strange communication failure, all three light freighters almost run headlong straight into the ZZ-class Freighter. Each one did evasive maneuvers which the 3-Z Light Freighter succeeded by going right under the bow but the other two skin right off the top bits of the medium freighters hull, their own hull being torn to pieces as they each hit an antenna and start to spin out towards space, each pilot trying to regain control of their light freighter. As the battle ensured, on the command bridge, Captain Gaki gets word from his communication officer of a development.

"Sir, they are broadcasting a distress signal!"
"Jam all communications! Any of them escape, we will need to hurry on deployment!"

As the communications officer worked to jam their distress signal, the Solo II Combat Freighter finally arrived as it burst forth in front of the ZZ-class Freighter and open fire with its own set of turbolasers, attempting to disable the ship quickly before it has a chance to get away. It would give it sustainable damage as the shields would drop rather quickly as the three squadrons once again attempt their foray into the discontent of these light freighter pilots. All three squadrons would hit their marks as the ion cannons burst forward towards the YU-410 and ZH-25 light freighters but was not enough to stop them. The Marauder itself was having its own issues as it attempted to fire forward but inside the command bridge, a loud whine would be heard as an explosion would rock the corvette as the whine got louder.

"Give me a damage report! What the hell just happened!"
"The power relay to Turbolasers on the right side just overloaded! We no longer have them online! Attempting to relay power to the substations but we won't have enough power to have shields up!"
"Get it done! We need to disable one of these ships before they get away!"

The squadrons of starfighters along with the light freighters keep tangling upon themselves, firing upon laser cannons and ion cannons as each shot seems to threaten the other with the ultimate end as the YU-410 seems to get most of the brunt and having engine trouble, not being able to last much longer. The Solo II Combat Freighter did its work as it kept chasing down the ZZ Freighter, inflicting blow after blow upon the freighter as it may not hold up much longer but it needed to get one more good shot in! The Marauder itself was having plenty of difficulty as it was missing shots due to the power reactor being overloaded on one section of the ship as it started to make Captain Gaki nervous. They could get away...they would not have spoils and someone would have died for nothing. Then it got worse as the two light freighters, the 3-Z and the YU-410 did a strange maneuver onto themselves and opened fire upon the starfighters chasing each other as two more signatures were gone as a loud scream pierced through the communications. "We lost Beta 1-4 and Beta 2-2! We can't keep this up much longer! Shoot to kill if you have to!" The starfighters screams on by the hull of the Marauder as the freighters were almost at the end towards the hyperspace buoy, their clear exit point and they had to make a statement...now or never. "Captain! Our Turbolasers are back online!" "Then fire the salvo! This is our last chance!"

The squadrons of starfighters once again open their salvos of laser cannons as they were almost to far away, all their shots missing wide as Captain Gaki knew the situation was getting dire yet he noticed to the corner of his eye the Solo II Combat Freighter was paying for itself, hitting the ZZ Freighter over and over again with salvo after salvo of turbolaser fire as he made a decision and it was a heavy one. "Abandon current target, all tractor beams lock on and secure that ZZ Freighter! We are not letting that one escape our grasp!" The sudden charge and then long whirring strangeness of bass sound would echo through the ship as it kept in place the ZZ Freighter which results in the ships sirens to whine again with engineering screaming from the speakers of the ship. "We cannot hold that for long! It will tear our ship apart!" Noticing one of their convoy was tractored, the 3-Z and the ZH-25 would loop around, opening fire as the screams of more men being killed was heard throughout the speaker. "This is Beta 1-2, Squad Leader has been killed! Orders?" "This is Alpha, you are to join with Beta 2 and pursue together that 3-Z, I want that ship!"

There was a loud whine as the light freighters made a b-line towards the Marauders tractor beam generators as the squadrons followed closely behind them as the twin Action VIs reached their evacuation point and jump to hyperspace. The fighting soon got much more intense as the two combined squadrons of Beta 1 and 2 would soon converge onto the 3-Z as they opened fire with the last member of Beta 1 firing ion cannons which hit their mark, spinning the 3-Z out of control and float lifelessly through space with the ZH-25 flying circles around Squadron 3 yet not hitting back at them either as they fire helplessly onto the tractor beam generators which for some odd reason, the Solo II Combat Freighter almost seems to miss completely but one turbolaser crew hits the mark several times and destroys part of the engine array as the ZZ Freighter sputters out and goes dark, slowly floating forward. Realizing that there was nothing more to be gained, the ZH-25 would soon fly above the Marauder and enter hyperspace, escaping. With a large sigh of relief, the crew would remain almost dead silent as they realized how badly this could have ended...with an entire squadron of starfighters now gone, out of existence. This could not happen a second time as Captain Gaki leaned up on his command chair and spoke into the intercom. "We are not out of the woods yet. Delta 1, Delta 2, commence boarding operations. Charlie 1, dock and secure onto that ZZ Freighter, I want no surprises."

Captain Gaki would then release the intercom as he watched as two gamma shuttles would soon depart and go towards their respective targets as the communications officer spoke, almost partly choked up as he listened very carefully. "Sir, the distress call was sent out. A ship can be arriving in less than ten minutes but more than enough for us to dock them onto the ships." "Then let's buy them some time! Squadrons, be ready!" Till that time, Captain Gaki would lay in wait, hoping that the distress signal did not bring anyone unwanted or any form of intruders as they were partly battered but ready to fight once more if needed.
