The Old Guy Sent Me

Julius was busy. His former mentor had taken it upon himself to reform the Corellian Jedi, a noble act, but one that left Darius without a teacher. Was he bitter about being left out in the dust after awaiting his master's return for nine years prior? A little, but the Padawan had learned to control his distaste. Julius had greater issues to deal with than teaching, and that was alright.

Luckily, a Jedi Master had pointed him toward one probable teacher. He'd explained that there were few in the galaxy who could match this one's prowess, and more importantly that this teacher was one of the more streamlined Jedi. Darius had a few experiences with the rogues, most of them female, and had absolutely no desire for those sorts to teach him anything.

The message had been sent a night before. It was rather simple: 'My name is Darius, and I am a Jedi Padawan. Master Grayson told me you might suit me.' With that sent, he'd gone on his way toward the galactic core. His ship was still in hyperspace, but he would be arriving wherever this Jedi Master was shortly.

He did not know much about Shatterstar, but then few knew much about him, didn't they? His fingers trailed along the cold metal of the lightsaber he'd recently constructed. Teacher or not, he was still a Jedi in some way or another. Hopefully [member="Varus Shatterstar"] would see that and have some sympathy for the young man.

Varus had been lounging about his apartment in the tip story of a Casino on Zeltros, a place he'd recently called home as the Jedi sorted themselves out and gathered their numbers not just from the Republic, but from all across the galaxy. Upon each planet there were likely Jedi, some carrying on protecting the galaxy in their own way and some hiding from the others in self imposed exile. Perhaps the most surprising thing, though, was the gaged interest from all of the major organizations of Jedi. If they could band together, they'd be greater than any of their own separate causes, yet be able to stengthen those causes at the same time.

Seraphina had been gone when Varus awoke, and since then he had been doing a bit of meditating before he decided to make himself breakfast. At some point along the way, however, he recieved an interesting message from an unknown source. Someone who clearly wanted to meet him and was intending to as soon as he figured out just where he was.

"Master Grayson...", he whispered to himself as he thumbed a reply into his data pad and sent it.

'I suppose that's for you to decide. If you must have an audience you may contact me again once you have reached Zeltros.'

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] - [member="Darius"]

Darius had heard vague tales of this supposed 'Jedi gathering'. It did not sound like the kind of thing that would work out well -- he'd been raised unorthodox. While Darius was more lax than most other Jedi would be in their treatment of Sith, he did not have a positive opinion of the Silvers. Part of that came from those who had taught him previously; the teenager did not consider them Jedi. Too much power in too few people. That was how dynasties began, and while the origin point might have the greatest intentions, their children had the capacity to become tyrants.

The idea of actually listening to them did not sit well with him, but how important was he? Not at all, truly. Still, in some capacity he'd been avoiding the proceedings similar to [member="Varus Shatterstar"] on some level.

The old jumper ship came out of hyperspace above Zeltros and pulled him from his thoughts. He knew what most other people were aware of about this planet. A world of sin, debauchery, and unplanned pregnancy. Not his kind of place. Still, Master Shatterstar was here, as well as [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"], though Darius was not aware of the latter.

With a few fancy words and a positive identification code, Darius managed to dock his ship not particularly far from the casino.

"On Zeltros. Many scantily clad women, also spice. Where am I going?" The message was sent. Darius stood outside of the planetary hangers looking quite out of place. It seemed that people did not like clothing on this planet.

Charming.

He tugged on the sleeves of his jacket and drew his hood over his face. Better to look a little creepy and intimidating than to have some stranger woman approach him for...reasons.

Varus stepped out of the shower without any sort of hurry to his pace, knowing that the force would be right on time as it always was. He dried his blonde hair with a towel as best he could before he tossed it in the hamper and pulled the other towel from around his waist. He then proceeded to dry every nook and cranny of himself before he was done and tossed it too into the hamper. Brushing his teeth took a couple minutes, and the body spray only took about thirty more seconds, but when he was done there he turned and swaggered out of the room. He then raised his right hand up to his head so that he could smooth back his moist hair, knowing that it would take care of itself.

As he walked into the rather large, open bedroom that he and Seraphina had been sharing the past few days, Varus glanced around for his data pad, standing there as bare as the day he was born, though he didn't care. No one was going to catch him bare assed on the top floor, so who should he have been hiding from?

When he found his data pad Varus opened the conversation that he had been having with an alleged aspiring young Jedi and began keying in something, one character at a time which eventually read, 'Floor 100 - Suite 1 of the White Dragon resort and Casino.', before he reached out and tossed it on the bed. He then turned to a set of drawers that were built into the wall and pulled one open, pulling from it a shirt and a pair of long, dark pants. He then sifted through another drawer and produced a pair of socks and a pair of boxer briefs, each of which he slipped on one at a time before he finally walked over to the messy, unmade bed that Sera had fled from earlier that morning.

He stood over it for just a moment, knowing Sera was out there somewhere getting into trouble or losing his money, or perhaps she'd been a good girl that day. Perhaps she'd been getting her and Varus some lunch, although he would never have known one way or the other. What he did know for sure, though, was that Sera would be back, and that made him happy. That was what kept his mood positive, and had it not been he might not have ever agreed to see the young man who had requested a meeting with him.

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] - [member="Darius"]

The day was still very much early. The warmth of the Sun peering over the horizon cast an array of color across the sky that had a simplistic beauty to it. The air was a bit cool, making each breath visible as a small plume before quickly dispersing. Sera sat on a small bench by a rather large park. Scattered age old trees stood a few paces apart from one another, separated by a winding path running between the goliaths. She looked down for a moment to check the time. With a nod to herself she stood and returned to her run. She had made good time, though by now Varus was likely awake. The Twi'lek was far from being one of notable strength, but she had always maintained superior endurance and lower body strength for several reasons, most of all being to compensate for the substantial energy required for the Ataru form.

To avoid any unnecessary attention or questions about being a Jedi or some other kind of strange offworlder, the woman had left her lightsabers resting on the table back in the room where she had been staying with Varus, as well as her armor resting on the couch. Instead she had opted for plain clothes - a light, loose fitting top and form fitting pants with a pair of running shoes. Zeltros was anything but typical as far as planetary morals were concerned, but some folk still wore clothes, and she wasn't overly comfortable with broadcasting her body to every stranger she passed. Some things were better left to imagination.

The distance from the remainder of the park to the resort was about thirty minutes if she kept the pace. Since she had nothing pertinent to attend to she continued at the same speed, rather than rushing. After all, it was a bright Zeltroni day, and she intended on enjoying it.

[member="Varus Shatterstar"] | [member="Darius"]

Thank the force and every god Darius did not believe in that it wasn't the evening. Zeltros never really slept, but things were tame enough between morning and mid-day for one to feel like they were in a normal city. That was the thought anyway. The Padawan scanned over the message, sighed, and began to make his way toward the casino via the datapad's tracker. A casino was the last place in the galaxy he expected to come across a Jedi Master, but then stranger things had happened. Master Sedaire spent all his time pining over Corellia and training in the old enclave on Sullust. Master Grayson spent all his time on Sullust's burning mountains. Even the wise Master Ruiks had the occasional visit to Nar Shaddaa, and all the vices that came with it.

That was just how things worked these days. Everyone was trying to forget the war; except for the kids who hadn't had a chance to fight in it yet, Darius being one of them. He may have come across a pink Twi'lek near one of the planet's many parks, but he gave little more than a momentary glance before he stepped into a speeder cab. The guy had credits, and he wasn't going to be walking all the way to the damned casino.

The ride was relatively shorter than jogging all the way back. Darius spent the few moments of relative peace reading up on one of the One Sith's renegade creations. Some creature that went by the name of Abraxes that hunted Jedi. Darius had the displeasure of dealing with the monster back on Mygeeto, and something told him it would turn up again.

The speeder came to a quiet halt outside of the casino. Darius paid the driver and made his way inside.

"Coming up." The message was sent. After a brief conversation with the receptionist he was allowed entry. A brief elevator ride and a very awkward staring contest with a Nautolan later, and Darius had arrived at the door of the room [member="Varus Shatterstar"] and [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]. He had no idea the Jedi Master had anyone staying with him -- Master Grayson hadn't seen Varus since he was a padawan after all. The old man could not have informed Darius, because he himself did not know.

He rapped his knuckles on the door.

When Varus heard the clacking of his door he looked up from his data pad and focused his eyes. It seemed that his mystery guest had arrived, knowing that Sera wouldn't have bothered knocking, nor would he have expected her to. They'd been trying this new thing between them for a few days now, and from what Varus could tell, it was going as perfectly as it could. He couldn't remember a time when he was happier with his personal life, and he hoped that Sera felt something at least similar.

She'd been who he was living for, and for so long he'd searched the galaxy from one end to the other looking for her, and her alone. When they'd found one another again, there was tension which had been alleviated by confrontation, but eventually they'd fallen prey to their previous weaknesses to one another. Something he was thankful for more than he could have put into words.

When the door slid back, Varus and Darius finally met one another for the first time, their eyes taking in the details of one another's faces. They would size one another up and etch their own images of one another in their minds before they even shared words, but that was natural. That was why Varus wasn't much worried about the way people looked at him upon first meeting. He realized that he may not look the way people would expect, but that didn't make him any less the Jedi that he was.

"Come in.", Varus said as he turned and left the door, making his way to a small minibar in the wall. Once there he grabbed three bottles of water, one which he took the door as the door slid to a close. He placed that bottle on the table next to the door for Sera and then turned to hand one to Darius. "Make yourself at home.", Varus said as he turned and made his way over to a large, soft, chair situated next to a big, puffy looking couch.

"Nice to meet you, Darius.", he told the young man as he lowered into the chair and sat back, getting comfortable as he waited for Darius to take a seat. "I assume you already know who I am. So... how can I help you?"

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] - [member="Darius"]

Homeboy was tall. I mean, Darius was tell, but Varus was tall. The Padawan didn't often find himself looking up to talk to folks; this was a first. No robes, but Master Sedaire had never worn them either. Bit of an odd demeanor, but he wasn't a hermit. That was good. He stepped through the door on Varus' urging. The apartment was a whole lot nicer than anything Darius had ever stayed in -- the kid was lucky to have a roof over his head in the past. His lips parted to speak, but then there was a minibar. He had that quiet moment of personal anxiety when Varus made his way toward it. Darius did not do alcohol, but everyone else did. Refusing such would not make for a good first impression.

To his relief, the Jedi Master set out a bottle of water. He could do that.

"Erhm-...yes, Master Grayson told me a bit," he reached up to scratch the back of his head and snatched up one of the bottles. He didn't know the old hermit well; he'd just seemed nice. A brief conversation had pointed him in the direction of Shatterstar, and here he was. "Not much though. Not that I was trying to pry -- Master. It was a brief conversation." He sighed. Darius was eager to please his superiors, but now he was selling himself. That was a different beast entirely.

It was about then that he realized he was standing, and Varus was not. He scrambled for the sofa and plopped down, sipping the bottled water as an excuse to refrain from speaking.

"Yes, I'm Darius. My master can no longer teach me -- he's leading the Corellian Jedi, and I'm too inexperienced to help," another sip, "Or so he says anyway." There was a hint of distaste lacing his words. Was he bitter? Maybe a little. Anyone would be if they kept getting pawned off to strangers like Darius did.

"I'm not very far in my training. I was stuck on Endor for six years by myself, but I'm trying to make progress."

And failing.

[member="Varus Shatterstar"], [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]

Sera scambled up the stairs to the resort, a slick stream of sweat covering her face and arms as she made her way to the entrance. The casino was about as busy as it usually was, with plenty of patrons and winfall hopefuls meandering about between the various machines and tables of luck or skill. If she hadn't felt like a sweat covered nerf she would likely stop before heading back up to the room and try her luck at a table. Instead she turned down one of the corridors that lead to the elevators and pressed a key, the car lifting her up to her and Varus' floor. As the doors opened she stepped out into the hallway and made her way towards the room. As her hand reached for the door however she heard people talking.

The Twi'lek pressed her ear up against the door for a moment and listened. The first voice she recognized as Varus', but she had never heard the other man's, and she had a near perfect memory. She waited a moment or two, listening to the conversation. "I'm not very far in my training. I was stuck on Endor for six years by myself."The conversation sounded strange to her. Why would a Padawan be here looking for Varus? Regardless, she needed a shower, and short of going for a swim in the pool that most would likely rather she didn't in her current state, she had nowhere else to go. And so she turned the knob and pushed open the door before stepping inside.

[member="Darius"] | [member="Varus Shatterstar"]

Varus listened to what the young man had to say with a pensive look upon his face, his strong jaw muscles rippling as he opened his mouth and took a gulp from his bottle of water. He then turned the bottle back upright and swallowed as he refastened the cap before he finally responded to the young man who'd come to visit him with an assumption as to why he was there.

"...and now you're in need of another Master.", he told the young man as a heart the click of the door, his frozen blue eyes moving from Darius's face to the doorknob that was now turning. Soon the door swung gently open and through it stepped the prettiest pink Twi'Lek that Varus had ever set eyes on. One he'd come to know belonged to him, just as she had come to understand who possessed his heart in the same regard. She was a bit tired, though she didn't show it by breathing hard or slumping at all. She did, however, have a bit of a glossy look about her, a gleam across her forehead where a bit of sweat had formed as she looked to be trying to sneak inside without drawing much attention. How cute.

Pushing himself up from his chair, Varus fell into an easy pace as he made his way towards his door, a gentle smile crossing his face as her eyes met his. "And this would be my... incredibly significant other.", Varus said, allowing a short pause for himself to think of the best possible way to suggest how very important that this woman was to him. As he reached her he ignored any pleas of, "I'm sweaty!", or, "We have company!", and wrapped his hands around her waist immediately pulling her over to him so that he could lean over and capture her mouth against his, with or without her consent.

She always liked that...

"This is Seraphina Shel'tah, Darius.", Varus finally said as he smiled down at her and released his grip on her waist. He then stepped back so that the young man could see her and be formally introduced. "This woman is perhaps the only thing in the known galaxy that I value more than my personal time and wardrobe.", he said jokingly, adding a bit of light laughter at the end to make sure that the young man recognized that he wasn't THAT self absorbed and that the bit about personal time and wardrobe was not meant to be taken seriously. He had, however, meant what he'd said about Sera, who had become the centerpiece of all that he was living for.

Finding his way back to his seat Varus sat down and leaned back in the comfortable chair, glancing over to Sera as he said, "You're more than welcome to join me as you are.", not worried about her being dirty from a morning jog. She had all day to get cleaned up, so why bother when they had company?

Looking back to the young man, Varus reached back and laced his fingers together behind his head so that he could lay into them as he said, "Alright. Go on."

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] - [member="Darius"]

Wut.

In stepped a pink skinned Twi'lek. Darius' first conclusion was that she was a friend. After all, his previous master had not been to keen on the subject of attachment. He had not treated it like the greatest of sins, as some of the elders did, but rather something Jedi grew out of as they gained more experience. It seemed Varus did not subscribe to such thought -- was that a flicker of the force in the Twi'lek?

Pretty sure I saw her earlier.

Darius' senses were non-too-keen, but it was obvious enough Seraphina was a force sensitive. Probably a Jedi too.

So they're like the Heavenshield dynasty?

The boy did not respond all at once. He was taking the time to wrap his head around what he'd seen. He was scolded for even considering such thoughts about Kinsey, but these two openly expressed such feelings? The galaxy was such a strange place. He drained the bottle of water to buy him a moment to gather his thoughts, and offered an awkward smile.

"Charmed Miss Seraphina," he tilted his head forward in greeting, "What?" He blinked at Varus. The man at least had a sense of humor, something he and Master Sedaire shared. Perhaps things would not be terribly awkward after all -- that was even if Shatterstar agreed to see Darius through the rest of his training. The boy was an especially troubled sort with a horrid streak of bad luck. It wouldn't be the first teacher to turn him down.

"Oh - eh, yes, sorry!" Breathe. "Right, erhm, I've been training since I was ten. I've been pawned off by a few masters, but I did manage to build a lightsaber with the help of a few friends."

Thanks Zak.

"I've been living on Sullust. I'm...not really a part of any of the Orders. I mean, I am, but I'm not with a single one; I'm with all of them?" He phrased it like a question. Probably not the best idea. In truth, Darius had no idea where his allegiance lay. He worked with all Jedi from every corner of the galaxy. He spent as much time helping the Galactic Alliance liberate Sith worlds as he played forceball with the younglings of the Silver Sanctum. Probably a bit too much of the latter.

"Oh, and I'm nineteen. I have telekinesis down, and I favor Djem-so."

Sold?

[member="Varus Shatterstar"], [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]

The woman's eyes glared at Varus as he pressed his lips against hers, though she returned the gesture all the same, letting her eyes speak for her. When he finally released his hold on her she looked past him and over to Darius, nodding with a smile. "His personal time is still a very close second. Don't let him fool you." She looked back to Varus with a grin before actually introducing herself to the Padawan while Varus sat down. "Anyways, hello. It's nice to meet you." She would continue to stand by the doorway, debating internally whether to excuse herself from the conversation and clean up a bit, as this was clearly a discussion between the two and she had little to offer. She wasn't even aware they were to have company.

Sera listened to Darius speak a bit more, it sounded as if he was trying to convince Varus into training him. The Twi'lek grinned, this poor guy has no idea what he's getting himself into. She leaned against the wall, crossing one leg in front of the other and folding her arms as she listened to him trying to sell his potential to Varus. She only spoke up when he mentioned having telekinesis down. Her interest had been spurred with that comment. Most of her life had been spent practicing and utilizing telekinesis in most every aspect. "What exactly do you mean by you have telekinesis down? Nineteen is pretty young to have mastered the art. You've got me curious."

[member="Darius"] | [member="Varus Shatterstar"]

"Go easy on me, woman.", Varus said with a slight wince at her minor slight about his priorities. He knew she was simply being playful, however, and so it didn't bother him. She was a very playful creature after all.

The young man's story was compelling, to say the least. He'd had about as much luck in his early days as Varus did, considering that Kian Karr hadn't discovered him until he was about 17. This one had been having even less luck, however, having been a Jedi since he was much young that when Varus started out. He'd had a bad run of Masters, which really hadn't been fair after all.

When the young man made mention of his abilities in telekinesis, though, Varus immediately grew interested, glancing over at Sera as she broke into the conversation to ask a question of her own. The blonde Jedi Master found it funny because of how incredibly versed she had been in her own abilities with telekinesis, and for the life of him he could not suppress the small squeak of laughter that he emitted. He covered his mouth immediately, though, and glanced down at his lap as if that would keep Darius from realizing the humor he'd discovered in it.

Mastered? Oh heavens no.

Darius' definition of 'getting something down' was managing to put it to come form of use. He was still very much a padawan, and most concepts slipped through his fingertips. His abilities with telekinesis were average as best, and they had only become that way because he often had no other weapon to rely on save for the force. His lightsaber was quite new, and he'd only ever used it once in a combat situation before. Any problem before that was solved with a shattergun and a it of space magic.

"No, no, I mean I can do it," he sighed, "Like - uh, I'm proficient?" Darius shrugged. He was trying, at the very least. For whatever reason Varus was laughing, and Darius' first conclusion was that he had done something stupid. He fell silent as he tried to figure out what exactly that was. The empty water bottle rose to his lips, and Darius sucked on air. Awkward.

Shab.

"It's all I've really had in terms of defense for...well, a long time," he shifted his gaze between the two. They were odd. Not in the uncomfortable sense -- the concept of two Jedi holding one another in a light beyond friendship was foreign to the kid. He was still trying to wrap his head around it, and more importantly figure out how it wasn't detrimental to everything they did.

That was what he'd always been taught, after all.

"I don't snore."

Keep selling.

[member="Varus Shatterstar"], [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]

Seraphina couldn't help herself any longer and laughed. The poor kid was so seemingly nervous by the sound of his voice and the manner in which he worded his thoughts, following it up with an assertion that he didn't snore.The female pushed herself off from the wall and sat beside Darius on the arm of the couch, making herself what may have felt to Darius as uncomfortably close. She then placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled.

"Relax. You're in good company. Varus will train you well enough. Just don't let him fill your head with his ego and pride." She glanced over at Varus with a smirk. "It gets him into trouble and it's mostly just exaggeration." She patted Darius on the shoulder and stood up. "Oh, and if you want to master telekinesis in the future, I'm your gal."

The Twi'lek headed for the bathroom to shower and clean up a bit. But before she did she stopped at the door and turned back. "One more thing, and I couldn't be more sincere when I say this. Be confident in yourself. How others perceive you is often just as important as everything else." And with that bit of wisdom she turned and shut the door to the room.

[member="Darius"] [member="Varus Shatterstar"]

"Hey... what did I just s...", and then she was gone. He had been about to complain about her playful slights again in front of their guest, but she was much too interested in other things for now. Without another word she had vanished into the bedroom so that she could have some privacy in the massive bathroom that was connected, which was rather extravagant. She seemed to enjoy the hot tub styled bathtub, whereas Varus preferred the roomy shower. She did like her bubbles, though, and any chance she got, she would go right to it, with or without him like the pampered little princess she was, although she would never admit to it. Varus tended to want to treat her like a Queen, though, and he had no issues doing just that, because despite her sharp tongue and witty put downs, she loved him, and he loved her. More than he could have ever expressed in words.

Sighing lightly at the thought of how well she knew how to play their little games, Varus put it out of his mind and turned his attention to the young man who had gone out of his way to come and see him. He hadn't meant to insult with his giggle before, though he couldn't have imagined that it didn't smart just a bit, and for that he was sorry. He wasn't going to apologize, however, knowing that the moment for that had passed. Now they were along again, at least for the time being, and Darius had the young, blonde Master's full attention.

"So...", Varus said in but a whispered as he sat up a bit in his seat. "...you're here to request that I take you as my apprentice.", he stated, knowing that his words were true as he'd already realized just how much it would take to do something like Darius was doing. No matter what he knew or what he didn't know of the force, the most important thing to Varus was that he was brave. He had something that many others didn't. He had heart.

[member="Darius"] - [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]

"That is what I'm asking, yes," Darius agreed. No point beating around the bush. Seraphina Shel'tah seemed the nice sort too; offering to help him further his telekinesis and such. It seemed this would be some kind of two-in-one package, and Darius was perfectly fine with that. The more he could learn, the better.

"So long as I'm not a bother anyway," he grinned, "I don't want to intrude on your, eh...love pad here." He motioned all around with his hand. He posed it as a joke, though the concern was genuine. It wasn't his place to come crashing in on their love life, student or not.

That, and he was still coming to terms with the fact that such things were not a sin here.

"-...and that would be wonderful, Miss Shel'tah."

[member="Varus Shatterstar"], [member="Seraphina Shel'tah"]

While her love spoke with the would-be Padawan about this and that, Sera opted to engross herself in the wonders of near-scalding hot bath water. It was true, she was quite the fan of lazily lounging in said water for prolonged periods of time, with nothing but the peace and quiet of her own thoughts to comfort her. It was her way of unwinding, whilst Varus chose the more brutish form of grueling workouts to the point of exhaustion. She much preferred her own method. In most aspects they were polar opposites. He was thick-headed and stubborn, she was sarcastic and snarky. He preferred raw power whilst she preferred finesse. They constantly bickered and jabbed one another, and rarely saw eye to eye on anything. Somehow though they had made it work. He had become her anchor and safety net.

Steam would rise, covering the glass mirror in the room with a layer of misty fog. She leaned her head back to rest against the cool wall behind her, while raising her legs just enough so that her feet would press against the opposite wall, slinking her body slightly lower into the water, nearly to her chin. Her eyes closed, slipping into a state of consciousness that bordered on sleep, yet maintained some semblance of awareness. The other two had plenty to talk about most likely, so there seemed to be no rush.

[member="Darius"] | [member="Varus Shatterstar"]

Varus sat and watched Darius in silent contemplation for a few moments as he listened to the young man confirm his request. He the raised his hand to stroke his chin as he glanced away, considering why exactly Master Grayson had sent this one his way. "If you know anything about me, you'll know I don't often take students, and I never seek them out on my own free will.", he told the young man, not meaning to dash his hopes or crush him on the spot, although he would have understood a disappointed look or an air of slight depression in response.

"I don't seek students because it is my opinion that a student should choose a Master that best suits their needs.", he divulged as he continued to speak. "I can't tell you what you want and I certainly don't know what you need, so how could I assume that I am the best option for you?", Varus asked, not expecting an answer seeing as his question was rhetorical in nature.
"In fact, Its not that I truly am selfish with my time, but rather that I don't like being responsible for people's lives and their growth as a Jedi.", he told Darius as he eyed him with those icy eyes.

"But you're older than the typical apprentice and have been well capable of making your own decisions for a long time.", he told the young man as he leaned back to get comfortable in his fluffy seat again. "So... in other words...", Varus said as he crossed his thick arms over his chest and said, "The one making the choice here is you. I only have one other student, so if this is what you want then make it happen."

[member="Seraphina Shel'tah"] - [member="Darius"]

Darius had questions that needed answering. Ones that he'd already asked plenty of others, and received little more than confusion in response. Varus was open to training him - something that brought the padawans a great amount of relief. He was growing quite tired of being pawned off from one teacher to the next. Perhaps Master Shatterstar could provide and answer to his question, and if not him, then miss Shel'tah.

"I'm capable enough on my own, but I need someone to round me off," he tilted his head forward respect, "I would be thankful if you were the one to do so."

Ask.

"I'll find a place to stay nearby. Not close enough to tread on your privacy of course," he grinned, "...and there's something I need answered."

The padawan sat up a little straighter and shifted about on the sofa.

"Force bonds. One was created between myself and another. She is on the same level as me in her training -- can these bonds transfer anything beyond feelings to one another? Say I were to be killed, would she be effected?"
