DESCRIPTION
The Obscurum is a unique and ancient station. It is filled with strange machines and an interconnected and complex mechanism, the purpose of which has been long forgotten, However, what is known is that the original structure was built in approximately 300 ABY by a sect of Dark-Side Force practitioners.
Functionally, The Obscurum is a trade hub, and a location where information can be bought and sold freely, as well as a floating library where a large vault of data can be accessed for a price, on topics ranging from Galactic history and politics, to lost technologies and forgotten rituals, collected and collated over the centuries, and expanded each day.
A sort of toll system is central to The Obscurum’s function. Access to the markets, labs, and libraries is provided only if patrons provide important or weighty secrets to the Obscurum’s Force-imbued Mechanism. The Mechanism judges the secret, and, if accepted, new arrivals are allowed to access all of the station’s services until such a time as they have to contribute again. This way, The Mechanism is always expanding, and the collection of secrets hidden away in the station’s heart continues to grow.
