Strengths:
Powerful Weapons: The Xo'Xaan II already possessed an impressive weapon's arsenal, but with the new additions it only solidified it as a dangerous and formidable warship.
Weaknesses:
Ships So Small They're Evading Our Turbolasers: The Xo'Xaan II is still vulnerable to concentrated fighter/bomber attacks on its lonesome even after some additions were made to it's original design. It still requires escorts to deal with large quantities of enemy starfighters and bombers.
Lack of Aft Coverage: The entire weapons cache the Xo'Xaan IIs possess are placed towards its bow, leaving very little defensive measures against a rear assault; especially against starfighters and bombers.
Description:
The original Xo'Xaan-class Star Destroyer was a staple of the Old Empire's Imperial Fleet, a symbol of its might and could strike fear into any who saw its wedge-shaped figure pierce through the darkness.
After the Old Empire fragmented and crumbled beneath its own internal squabbles and the external aggression of its political enemies, there was a distinct lack of a ship that held the Xo'Xaan's flare and reputation as a stark symbol of Imperial might. But with the reclamation of the fortress world of Bastion by the most senior of Sith-Imperial loyalists there was an opportunity to evoke the symbolism of that long yearned for imperium.
The shipyards of Bastion were old, but functional, and they served as the breeding ground for a new generation of warships inspired by past regimes long blown to dust. The earliest of these designs was the Xo'Xaan II which incorporated many aspects of what made its predecessor a hard-hitting warship but slightly larger and with a more powerful arsenal of modern state-of-the-art weaponry. The starship was also outfitted with a hangar bay that could not only disgorge starfighters when threatened, but could also hold a sizable strike force that could be deployed to a planet's surface by dedicated dropships and gunboats. New Additions
Having the ship moved to the Ord Biniir Shipyards, the warship under went some drastic changes to improve this particular vessel. The internal structure of the ship seen portions of the durasteel removed in favor of both turadium (blast doors) and charubah steel to reinforce key aspects of the internal structure. Quadanium steel and trimantium were added to strengthen the hull of the ship. With the added materials, the ship now suffered lower speed and maneuverability from the original design.
Cluster missiles were added to it's armaments but the downfall was that if the ship moved before firing any remaining missiles, they too would change direction instead seeking out the previous target(s). The Homing missiles, with it's guidance system, made them hit their targets accurately but were less dangerous than other missile types. Also, they are utilized to assist in repelling attacking starfighters since they still posed a threat and problem to the warship. Finally, proton torpedoes were added to give he warship more firepower.
The Redundant Shield Generator had been removed in favor of the Guardian-class Shield Generator. This gave the warship a stronger shield, which would also assist in protecting itself from pesky starfighters/bombers.
Originally the warship came with 8 tractor beams, but three of them had been removed to make room for the two newly added Antimissile Octets. These additions allowed for better defense against missiles and other projectile weapons. A Baffler and Scrambler units were implemented into the warship.
The Mystic Veil was designed to be a unique, singular upgrade to the previous Xo'Xaan II-class Star Destroyer. Though the warship is the sole property of the Sith Empire, Darth Sarcophago (Satia The Cruel) has been given command of the warship to use in accordance to the Empire's right to rule.
